iATKOS S3 v2 on AsRock G31M-S R2.0

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...2&hl=asrock hope it helps... Have you installed since?
2. Ok... more time went by, and I have to say that my whole experience with OS X x86 has been GREAT! Now I'm working on a new AsRock G31M-VS2 motherboard, which works almost a 100% fine with iAtkos Snow Leopard 10.6.3. I read in the forums so I disabled the legacy USB in the BIOS and install went just fine. I even installed all Pro Apps without any problems at all and Adobe CS4. Retail Install I downloaded the new nawcommodCD and gave it a try, (EmpireEFI didn't do the trick), Install went a little shaky at first with kernel panics just on boot so after a whole night, I realized that I needed to install the nawcom legacy_kernel... after that it all went downhill. It boots right from the HD got QE/CI. Steps: Boot from the nawcombootmodCD hit enter (default boot) Swap the bootcd with the OS X Retail install DVD follow the steps to install Reboot with the bootcd again (default boot once again) then choose to start from de HD and once you're in the desktop, install the legacy kernel with ##### and all of the necesary kexts. Reboot... should start from de hard drive... enjoy! Installed VIA® VT1705 Audio Codec kext in kexts.com and deleted vodooHDA to prevent freeze upon startup. be sure to configure 16 bits in applications > utilities > midi to avoid crackling sounds at medium to full volume. I installed kexts for my USB wireless card (Linksys WUSB54) tweaked some lines with terminal and got the wireless internet really fast, the on-board Realtek 8102E also works with kext from Realtek site. Then proceeded to install all Pro Apps Starting with Final Cut Studio 3 - Final Cut Pro 7, Motion 4, Color, Sound Track Pro, DVD Pro and some other Apps. Final steps, downloaded the 10.6.6 combo update from Apple's site, installed... crossed my fingers, it just booted right back, so now I'm proud to write from MyHack with Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.6 AsRock G31-VS2 Intel Core2Duo @2.0 GHz 1 GB RAM ZOTAC nVidia 7300 1 320GB Sata disk OS X 1 160GB Pata disk W7
3. Have you tried booting up from CD then in to de HD, once there, install the legacy_kernel (32 - 64 bits) and then restart normal from HD? I did just that and had 32 bits at first then I upgraded to legacy_kernel 64 bits. right now I'm running full Retail 10.6.3 with chocolate kernel. AsRock G31M-VS2, nVidia GeForce 7300 SE. 1GB RAM 320 SATA HD, 160 IDE HD. Dual boot with Windows 7
4. Ok... more time went by, and I have to say that my whole experience with OS X x86 has been a blast! now I'm working on a new AsRock G31M-VS2 motherboard, which works almost a 100% fine. I even installed all Pro Apps without any problems at all and Adobe CS4. Install went a little shaky at first with kernel panics just on boot, then I read the forums and disabled the legacy USB an everything went just fine. the only thing that does not work 100% is audio, I got the HDA panel and sound coming out but there's no control for the volume, there's a VIA® VT1705 Audio Codec kext in kexts.com but it causes a freeze upon startup, so I removed it. I installed kexts for my USB wireless card (Linksys WUSB54) tweaked some lines with terminal and got the wireless internet really fast, the on-board Realtek 8102E also works with kext from Realtek site. AsRock G31-VS2 Intel Core2Duo @2.0 GHz 1 GB RAM ZOTAC nVidia 7300 1 320GB Sata disk 1 160GB Pata disk BIG UPDATE!!! I'm now running Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.3 spent the whole weekend making the perfect install, I had to use nawcom's legacy_kernel 64 bits, but other than that is a perfect install.

Good configurazione for iATKOS S3 V2

I've been running iAtkos S3 Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on a AsRock G31M-VS2 for a while now it runs stable and is very compatible. On install disable legacy USB. Audio runs on HDA but it doesn't work fully (volume control unable to up down volume) other than that is a perfect hack regards

AsRock 945CGM

I have recently installed iDeneb v.1.5 Leopard 10.5.7 on my AsRock 945GCM-S I had issues installing iAtkos but mainly because I didn't wanted to run on one core only (cpus=1) so I gave iDeneb 1.5 Leopard 10.5.7 a try, resulting on a one core boot flag too, so I read a couple of forums and changed my Vanilla 9.7.0 kernel to the ANV one included on the install DVD... succes! I'm now running both cores. Only issue I have to iron out, is sound. I installed the kext for my Realtek ALC662 from the iDeneb DVD but I have no sound coming out, the system preferences pane shows a sound device but no sound is coming out. So tonight I'll be installing a modded ALC662 kext, hope it goes on ok. My Rig: AsRock 945GCM-S 1 GB RAM 667 Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.2 GHz E4500 nVidia 7200 Texas Instruments Firewire @ 400MBPs 1 160GB IDE HDD with Windows 7 1 120GB SATA HDD with Leopard 10.5.7 will post further results OK... couple of days and I'm happy to report that I finally have everything working just right, I resolved the sound issues with the Azalia kext from my old XxX 10.4.11 Install DVD, and the WUSB54G wireless too, I read some advice on the http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=170442 I'm now updating the forum from my AsRock 945GCM-S Leopard 10.5.7 Hackingtosh. cheers Been on the Leopard 10.5.7 for two days straight, no important issues found, I'm happy to report that everything works just fine, sleep, restart and power off. Still have to try Pro Apps like Final Cut Pro and iLife 09. Happy to report that all Pro Apps are working 100%, got Final Cut Studio 3, Final Cut Pro 7 works like a charm and Motion 4 perfect. Have the full iLife '09 and iWorks '09. I' running a couple of apps from Aquafadas, very stable. Can't get the smile off my face every time I boot onto my new Leopard 10.5.7

Install on PCCHIPS P17G

I've recently bought a PC CHIPS mobo and did not think it would handle OS X at all, I had an AsRock before with an nVidia AGP that gave me QE/CI, and it ran FCP 4 & 5 but it suddenly burnt and had to get a new mobo. Well, as I was saying, I did not think it would handle Tiger at all, but installed and to my suprise, the only thing I didn't have was audio, but then I checked in the System Preferences and there it was, I had Internal Speakers in the panel but no sound coming out, so I tested all of the plugs, it turned out that sound is coming from the pink plug. All my pro Apps are working 100% PCCHIPS P17G Mobo Intel Dual Core 1.6 1GB RAM All onboard GMA 950 ICH7 SATAII PATA Sigmatel HD Firewire hope this post would help
12. what tools you used for BIOS downgrade? will apreciate a little walkthrough. TNX

My OS X Box

Well is been nearly 8 to 10 months since I have turn completely to OS X x86, since I had worked on original Macs at work, I started to search up and low on the internet when I heard about Mac turning on to Intel Hardware, ending up with a couple of versions of OS X Tiger, which installed just ok on my PC. At the time, I had an AsRock Mobo that worked just fine but did not have QE or Core Support, then I came across an nVidia AGP card that supported it. Then disaster struck! I Had some problems with my Win XP thing and moved somethings inside the box, and the mobo just went south. I had to replace it, tryed to buy something close to what was working on the forums with no luck at all so I settled for a PCChips P17G, and installed Tiger just for the heck of it... IT ALL WORKED!!! QE Core, audio, everything just fine! As of today I'm running Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1 Major Update. I'm building another Hack for a friend, and he bought an AsRock mobo, a 1333 667 Wolfdale, wich has an Intel 945GC A2 chipset, but didn't work at all with JaS Tiger 10.4.9 and Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1. I finally got it working thanks to a mod BIOS from Kabyl, I spent a lot of time shutling from the cybercafe looking for the solution and downloading files, but in the end, it was sweet succsess. It all works jus fine on Leo but have some issues with iLife apps and some tearing on the mouse. Updated to Leo 10.5.2 I finally decided to return the AsRock Mobo to my friend, 'cause the iLife Apps do not run on Leopard, I searched the web, and it appears to be a software issue, not hardware, found out, that many real Mac users had the same issues. So, I'm back to Tiger 10.4.9 on my PCCHIPS mobo, im kinda missing Leo, but if there's no solution on the iLife, well I rather be down to Tiger. Another time by, I've switched from PCChips to AsRock 945GM with XxX OS X 10.4.11 and Kallyway Leopard 10.5.1, have an nVidia card and a realtek 8139 LAN card. It all works fine, apps and system. trying to find a way to install either iDeneb or iAtkos Leopard, but haven't succeeded at all just yet.
