  1. KP after update 10.6.5 on MB Gigabyte EP45 UD 3LR

same issue here...any help pls??? deleted applehda from S/L/E and legacyHDA + voodoo monitor from E/E , still now go. I dont have sleepenabler, no other kext in E/E now ANy inputs? Update: I got it working again by changing the SMproduct in smbios.plist, from 4.1 to 3.1. I got KP at 4.1 after upgrade to 10.6.5, but when I change it Macpro 3.1, it boots fine. deymonster, I see you are already using Macpro 3.1, try lowering it...if possible?
  2. EDIT: FMK QUICK QUESTION FIRST! My processor E6320 has a TJ Max of 85, when adjusted in fakesmc infolist from 100 to 85, temps are 38-40 degrees. Is that what's been driving me bonkers? Confirmed it via some online articles and feedbacks and in Windows7 coretemp 0.99, TJ max is 85 for my processor, however Voodomonitor still shows temps as 52 degrees. Thoughts please. ----------- Yes I ve taken out voodoopstate.kext from E/E and reloaded caches like a hundred times, still no change in voodoomonitor voltage output, have the following in EE now: EvOreboot fakesmc 2.5 AHCIPortInjector VoodooMonitor post #1443, yes its 24 there instead of 1D because I was OC'ing to 3.01 Ghz (thats when I got 'uncorrected CPU error on boot time'). Then later I took down the OC to 2.8 Ghz and it booted fine without null, hence the difference of 24 and 1D after taking it down 200 mhz. System Specs: Gigabyte P35 DS3R v1.o E6320 @ 2.80 Ghz - Original 1.86 Ghz 2 GB Ram @ 1000 Nvidia 8600 GT 256 MB RAM USB Keyboard and mouse 2 HDD: Seagate 500 GB 7200.12=Windows 7 WD 250 GB 7200=MAC OSX SNOW, a second cloned partition MAC OSX BACKUP Tried that t oo keeza, DropSSDT is set to NO now, booting without pstates in current DSDT. Im attaching the ACPI Tables ioreg sshot, do I need to check for a specific setting under ACPI tables? I did recompare a couple of times, I couldnt find anything off...I could be wrong. I have two other DSDT's from fellow members of this site with the same board as mine and there seems to be nothing wrong. For PCI0, I couldnt find whats wrong, however for Device MEM comparing it to the original Linux live USB dsdt just the Y0C and Y0B looks different. Heres the Linux live USB original DSDT: original_dsdt.dsl.zip Current DSDT (no Pstate, Drop SSDT=No): current_noPstate.dsl.zip One other thing the 'Status' section in vmonitor, the voltage fluctuates from 1.372 to 1.164 very rarely, but in 'P states' section stays stable at 1.372Voltage and 0x72A and 0x62A control instead of 0x61D This is without P states in DSDT, using native P states? Should I try to get SSDT via ubuntu to double check the pstate cstate thing?
  3. Attached..edited the previous post. Yes FMK, took out the PSS code, kept the PSD and CST code, system booted up, temps are same, same output on voodoomonitor: As of now, I have the following kexts in E/E: EvOreboot fakesmc 2.5 AHCIPortInjector VoodooMonitor VoodooPstate
  4. I clear and reload caches everytime I add/reload kexts, always do it. I patched the LPC code just like youve explained in your first post, its there in ioreg. I'll attach the snapshot. C states maybe? Also do I need to do the ssdt thing, havent yet figured out what ssdt means. I have tried without the pstates and c states code with voodoomini but temps are same 50 +, i.e { Scope (_PR) { Processor (CPU0, 0x00, 0x00000410, 0x06) {} Processor (CPU1, 0x01, 0x00000410, 0x06) {} Processor (CPU2, 0x02, 0x00000410, 0x06) {} Processor (CPU3, 0x03, 0x00000410, 0x06) {} } Name (_S0, Package (0x04) { Zero, Zero, Zero, Zero }) Name (SS1, Package (0x04) { One, Zero, Zero, Zero }) Name (_S3, Package (0x04) { 0x05, Zero,...omitted This is my current dsdt: dsdt.dsl.zip The only kext that someone made me disable from S/L/E is: AppleTyMCEDriver.kext
  5. To lower the temps, the whole point of me going after speedstep is to bring the temps under control, but I didnt know about the Pstates and Cstate thing being the same as v-mini, thanks for pointing that out. Glad you cleared that keeza. However, the temps are still the same after giving the second p state different voltage. Even after taking out the P states and C states , voodoomini loads up but no temp difference, actually its +3-5 degrees with voodoomini. The pstates calculator and vmonitor kexts have me confused, its quite obvious second p state is being loaded up with 1.187 voltage, but voodoomonitor shows the same for both. Anything else we can try to get the temps down? PS: I tried the Macpro 3.1, 4.1, 5.1 switch in smbios, boots and runs fine in all of them with no temp difference, just thought Id mention this aswell.
  6. @Keeza K bro, I got the audio stuttering fixed by taking out the old spdstp code and doing it from the beginning by adding my p states. Temp is 52 degree idle. with A/C around 48 degrees. In Windows 7, its 34 degrees idle, which brings me to the main question which you all have asked others too... "Why go to the trouble of speedstep when tmp's are still gonna be 50+ idle...Whyyy???" By reading most of this thread, you all seem to have fixed that by putting in "C states" the right way and double checking other things. Apparently Voodoomonitor shows the same voltages for both pstates, I dunno why...I took out pstatechanger's-->voodoopstate kext and added dropssdt-->yes, still no go, it still shows the same voltage like the screenshot in my earlier post, but when I check speedstep via terminal, I get: bash-3.2# ioreg -lw0 |grep CSTInfo | | | "CSTInfo" = 19136773 bash-3.2# ioreg -lw0 |grep PerformanceStateArray | | | "PerformanceStateArray" = (<00000000000000000a0000000a0000002a07000000000000>,<00000000000000000a0000000a0000002a06000001000000>) ...which I think means that speedstep is kinda working? The next thing I did was use voodoopowermini, well if it can bring down the temps to 35 degrees, what else do i need?...but that didnt work. I tried loading voodoomini with disable and nullcpu, both the times it failed, same temp, when I load it alone without disable/nullcpu I get the following error (attaching kernel log): localhost kernel[0]: npvhash=4095 May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: PAE enabled May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: 64 bit mode enabled May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: Darwin Kernel Version 10.3.0: Fri Feb 26 11:58:09 PST 2010; root:xnu-1504.3.12~1/RELEASE_I386 May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: vm_page_bootstrap: 509342 free pages and 14946 wired pages May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: standard timeslicing quantum is 10000 us May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: mig_table_max_displ = 73 May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=0 LocalApicId=0 Enabled May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=1 LocalApicId=1 Enabled May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=2 LocalApicId=2 Disabled May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorId=3 LocalApicId=3 Disabled May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: calling mpo_policy_init for Quarantine May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: Security policy loaded: Quarantine policy (Quarantine) May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: calling mpo_policy_init for Sandbox May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: Security policy loaded: Seatbelt sandbox policy (Sandbox) May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: calling mpo_policy_init for TMSafetyNet May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: Security policy loaded: Safety net for Time Machine (TMSafetyNet) May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: Copyright (c) 1982, 1986, 1989, 1991, 1993 May 31 21:21:00 localhost kernel[0]: The Regents of the University of California. Thanks man. No one can do this stuff alone...well except assembly language professionals. Im attaching my current dsdt with new speedstep code which fixed the stutter: newssDSDT.dsl.zip
  7. Hi keeza, tried that, but it doesnt help. The backup SL boot dsdt also has the same line IRQ 2, but audio is fine there, I am fairly certain its the spdstep configuration and c states as mentioned in this post on this same thread: Keeza's audio stutter post You've actually had the same issue in the past I think ..LOL, the funny thing is, just like Eliade described "when I move the mouse really fast while playing some audio file, the audio doesnt stutter anymore" You know what, I think Im going to reinsert the spdstep code following the exact same code from the first post in this thread only adding in my pstates and then give it a go. I think spstp is configured incorrectly in my dsdt, Im attaching my pstates screenshot for you to doublecheck that. Here's what SuperHai said about the stutter issue:
  8. Thanks a tonnn Keeza Araxis merge was a life saver. I have my dsdt with audio, video, and networking, thanks to you. One weird issue tho, my audio stutters very bad, cant listen to anything. Did a lil research and it seems liek I need C states...could you confirm that? Im attaching my dsdt incase you get time to look if I did something wrong coz of which the audio stutters badly, its a alc889a audio chipset, and I ve tried all combinations of latest AppleHDA and HDAenabler but still the stuttering is very bad. If I use the backup SL copy to boot (without the speedstep code and the SAME * AppleHDA and HDAEnabler kexts) there is no audio stutter....weird speedstep. audio_stutter.dsl.zip Thanks a tonn man, you saved my life with that merge editor.
  9. Hi guys..k I need some suggestions Its quiet obvious that IASLME is the recommended tool for compiling de-compiling dsdt's. However, what I wanna know what ahould I use to edit them, the simple text editor? And the main question, like in DSDTSE (not recommended I know, Im not using it) there are certain patches/fixes which you are supposed to include in your dsdt. Is there some other tool/place where you can get the right patches/fixes from..to include in your dsdt. I know, very n00bish question, but had to start the right way. Thanks a ton.
  10. K..so freaky Well..Snow kernel doesnt like good OC's that well. I didnt OC it 50%..I just oC'd it 1.0 Ghz..well 1.114 Ghz to be exact . Anyways yea....I took it down 200Mhz to 2.8 Ghz, snow booted Fine without nullcpumanagement...BUT* with the dsdt for gigabyte boards (the one you edited with my sstep code), the 1700 line long one. With the "fc_modified_03" dsdt, it gets to the desktop and gives a KP, "HPET error", maybe you need to take a look at the HPET and TIMR along with the rest of the fixes in your 03 edited one. So to summarize, it boots with the modified dsdt from gigabyte thread, but not with my boards dsdt (fc_03) one. I'll boot into it and get all the info again, since the pstates will have changed coz we are down from 3.01 Ghz to 2.8Ghz?!?!? Here comes another apple based weekend
  11. Thanks for the input freaky. However you'll have o wait till saturday, have two more exams to go, will update you then. @Formerly Yes Im using the latest update Will update you guys on Friday. Thx everyone.
  12. Ok 2 questions Beerkex, thanks for the reply first of all 1. How do you enable ACPI 2.0 in the bios ..gigabyte boards (P35 DS3R)?..I dont think ive seen that option anywhere in the bios...or are you talking about enabling it somewhere else...sorry n00b question. 2. Could you ellaborate on the redumping part? UPDATE: Well most of the features in bios where turned off, the ones that prevent an OC...EISt driver and c1e and all..enabled everything except cpuid....HPET is enabled and set to 64 bit...but still I get the same error. Tried 32 bit too...but same error. T/Sing this is soo crazy.
  13. Uncorrected CPU error Me and a friend are working on this..and seem to be doing most of it rigt, but this "uncorrected error" is driving me nuts. Any pointers? Fixed_dsdt_EDITED_01.zip
  14. @ Freakyy;) as per our IM convo Niiice, hopefully I can be fast enough for you to help me out before you get weekend busy Bro, you didnt tell me which tab you needed the snapshot off voodoomonitor so im sending you all of them: Added you on gmail aswell. Umm ..kinda confused about what all info you need about my system besides this: Gigabyte P35 DS3R v1.o E6320 @ 3.01 Ghz 2 GB Ram @ 860 I can send you the IOreg dump as well if thats gonna help? EDIT: Also I came up with this speedstep code, kindly correct me if Im wrong Scope (_PR.CPU0) { Method (_PSS, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x02) { Package (0x06) { Zero, Zero, 0x10, 0x10, 0x072A, Zero }, Package (0x06) { Zero, Zero, 0x10, 0x10, 0x0624, One }, }) } Method (_PSD, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x05) { 0x05, Zero, Zero, 0xFC, 0x04 }) } Method (_CST, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x02) { One, Package (0x04) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x01, // Bit Width 0x02, // Bit Offset 0x0000000000000000, // Address 0x01, // Access Size ) }, One, 0x9D, 0x03E8 } }) } } Scope (_PR.CPU1) { Method (_PSS, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (^^CPU0._PSS ()) } Method (_PSD, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (^^CPU0._PSD ()) } Method (_CST, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x04) { 0x03, Package (0x04) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x01, // Bit Width 0x02, // Bit Offset 0x0000000000000000, // Address ,) }, One, Zero, 0x03E8 }, Package (0x04) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x08, // Bit Width 0x00, // Bit Offset 0x0000000000000414, // Address ,) }, 0x02, One, 0x01F4 }, Package (0x04) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x08, // Bit Width 0x00, // Bit Offset 0x0000000000000415, // Address ,) }, 0x03, 0x55, 0xFA } }) } } EDIT 2: 2 compile errors ( Heres the speedstep code DSDT: dsdt.zip Freakyyy or anyone. Please help me out here.
  15. Hi everyone..Im using a fellow members modified DSDT (supposedly patched), however my idle temps are still in the 50's Celsius range. He was using a Q6600 @2.4, while im using a E6320 1.8Ghz OC'd to 3.01Ghz. Do I need to recalculate the pstates and work on it...very n00bish regarding scripts, more of a routing switching guy. ANy help will be appreciated. Im attaching my original, unpatched linux live CD dsdt and the modified patched one im using. Please spare a few minutes and guide.
