  1. Could you please elaborate on this for me? I am not sure what you mean by this....or if someone else can elaborate with more info, that'd be great to. Yes I used netkas' IOPCI kext and it fixed the original issue for me, thanks. The other issue coming up now is I don't seem to be able to boot normally, i always have to use -f on the kernel flags for the machine to work, if i don't, the boot hangs at various different parts, can't even pin it down, at one time it hung and it only showed a partial message, the last bit was cut off completely like the text was there just overwrote. Hard to explain... Another issue, is when the monitor wakes from sleep, there are artifacts on the lock screen to enter my password and soon as I enter password, display goes back to completely normal...this is using an nvidia quadro 600.
  2. ok i figured it out, 0x648511ab is the correct one. Now i edited HighPointRR.kext/Contents/Info.plist and flushed cache etc and get at boot unsupported adapter. So there is another kext, HighPointIOP.kext, so I edited it's info.plist under the marvelliop section and on boot it now says "failed to map pci base address" any thoughts on this?
  3. Yes I understand all this, but how would I go about gathering my ID's to put in this to see if the kext will load?
  4. After some research, there is a company HighPoint that has a RocketRaid 2680 that uses a marvell chip 88SE6485. Mine is a 88SE6480. There is a legacy kext for this already called HighPointRR.kext. How would I go about getting my info to put into the info.plist for PCIPrimaryMatch to see if this is compatible?
  5. Hey All, Have a Thinkstation D20 and trying to get Mountain Lion going but can't even get into install, it's hanging on the dreaded infamous "[ PCI configuration end, bridges 11 devices 31 ]" and right before it displays "RTC: Only Single RAM bank (128 bytes)" this is booting with or without npci=0x3000. Not sure if I need to boot with additional flags or not. It also has a marvell 64xx/63xx raid controller in raid 1 with 2x300gb HDD's, so I might just be wasting my time as I doubt that is even supported. CPU's are Dual Xeon X5650's @ 2.67GHz, 6 cores per processor and only have 4GB ram installed for now. Network is Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet. If anyone can offer some assistance, that would be great Thanks. Ok I replaced IOPCIFamily.kext and ran myhack's myfix on the usb device and now I can boot into the install, but as I thought, the internal drives are not listed, only the USB, and 2 dvd drives. On to the next step and see about getting them listed.
  6. test it and let us know. it's a testing community, nothing guaranteed.

    HP XW8600 ?

Make sure you use a retail 10.6.3 disc, this is what I did for my xw8600, booted fine with myHack installer. After install, ran myhack installer again. Downloaded http://www.mediafire.com/?wytdyumiywo for the nvenabler.kext and nvenabler64.kext and got full support for quadro fx 570. Everything is working perfect. I found a post here with a modified broadcom 5755 kext with the 167b device id in it, loaded it up and now both ethernets are working great. I installed SATA drive on same controller as cdrom, set bios to raid+ahci and everything went super smooth!

Still boots up to a blank screen for me...

I don't have native resolution, i have not tried yet to get it. Focused on getting the kexts loaded first.

You have a core i3 with intelhd graphics and don't have a gfx0 section? hmmm thats strange, i have that section on my i3 intelhd graphics... do you want my unpatched/unmodified dsdt straight from linux?

    GMA X4500

I have intel hd from core i3 330m and blank screen upon boot with integratedfb kext in S/L/E...not to sure where to go from here. The only thing I can see that might be different is the revision, mine is 02, not sure what the MBP is...also the appleintelhdintegratedfb.kext is likely trying to find the nvidia card, which could be preventing the showing of the login screen. At the blank screen, I can change volume levels and that works, but nothing else shows....any insight would be great!

    GMA X4500

I tried it and it didn't do anything, thought i was using nvidia card and wouldn't switch...need to figure out why intelfb seems to load system fine but no display, i can still control volume and eject cd but no display...it has to be looking for the nvidia card and defaulting to that...i will see if i can boot to safemode and look through logs tomorrow...i will test the one posted here from 10.6.4 aswell.

    GMA X4500

I would test this but I can't even boot with the intelhdgraphicsfb to load, it just hangs on boot up...hmmm i wonder if this modifies a file to permanently set it to use intelhd or nvidia...if thats the case, perhaps i can set it to use intelhd, and it will load the framebuffer at boot....i am using i3 330m with intelhd graphics. If I have time I will attempt this, or someone can post back whether it does modify a core os file to permanently have the intelhd on instead of the nvidia.

I am guessing soon as this switching gpu's is figured out we will be golden. I have an intel i3 330m with intel hd graphics that ID's are already in the plist files for the gfx drivers from apple but it still hangs on bootup whenever i have the intelframebuffer in S/L/E directory. Soon as its deleted, system boots up fine but no kexts are loaded for the card. Hopefully 10.6.4 will address this. Maybe i'll grab a copy soon as I get my laptop back up and running with a dual boot setup.

where did they come from? are they the ones straight out of the macbook update? On a side note, apparently there is a settings in system preferences on the new macbooks that you can disable switching to the nvidia cards, I am on the hunt for where it is, i will post back if i find it, but if someone else does first, let us know. This could be the missing part, maybe... I read it here Apple's approach in the new 15" and 17" MacBook Pros differs from Optimus in two key ways. The first is that the switching is all handled automatically by Mac OS X without any user intervention (though there is actually a System Preference to deactivate it, if you choose). EDIT: Ignore that, apparently if you disable it, it goes directly to the GPU, so unless we can change a file to direct it to the intel hd, its useless right now. I am reading that a lot of people are having issues with this automatic switching, so should be interesting to see if apple comes out with a fix to enable the end use to be able to direct it to a certain gpu, for instance, when on battery, only use the intel one.
