1. Thanks for the advice. I removed this Kext using MacDrive on Windows and also removed the System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches. When I reboot I get a different error now. Please see attached.
2. Hi, I installed 10.8 using the ####### method on my Asus K53E (2nd gen i5, intel only video). After installing I was able to boot into 10.8 no problem, but after running ###### to install the boot loader and MBP definition I get a kernel panic when booting. I didn't use a DSDT when installing ########, but I was able to boot without one before. I've attached screenshots of the error. Thanks
3. I was having a problem with boot0: error and I've solved it. I could get to Chameleon boot loader via the USB stick no problem, but after installing it to my Macintosh HD partition I could not make it boot, it just showed the boot0: error. The partition was set active. I turned out I had to manually install the boot1h file in single user mode. When installing it in normal mode it was getting wiped, or at least not making it from cache to disk.
4. Fantastic. Thank you very much MaLd0n
5. Hi MaLd0n, Please could you patch my DSDT for my Asus K53E Sandy Bridge i5-2410M Laptop? I have extracted the DSDT on Windows 7 x64 using Everest Ultimate. The zipped output is attached. I get the same problem as previous poster gets, DSMOS has arrived, when trying to load Lion installer. When I run 10.6.8 the screen becomes corrupted on boot. Thanks acpi_dsdt.zip
6. see here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=261698 i used to have that issue, and/or the swirly ball one then i did that and it worked, the only difference really i think was chameleon Hi, I just tried following those instructions. First I tried just installing that version of chameleon, but same problem. Then I followed the rest of the instructions and copied the files. The only file that wasn't there was the .file one. I tried again and still exactly the same problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks
7. Hi, I got 10.6.3 installed ok by following Tony's ##### guide. I updated to 10.6.8 and ran ##### but I then cannot boot the 10.6.8 partition. It appears to corrupt the graphics and hang, but I still see the hard disk access light flashing occasionally. I found this video: where the guy has same problem as me exactly. He is able to remote desktop into his computer when this happens. I wonder if maybe the video is being redirected to an external DVI/HDMI/VGA monitor that isn't really connected. I remember this was a problem with 10.4 on some dell laptops. My hardware is an Asus K53e, Sandy Bridge i5 2410M, Intel 3000 Graphics. I don't have an external monitor to test my theory with, but does anyone know of a way of telling the computer to use the internal monitor? On the 10.4 issue on Dell laptops the trick was to jumper a couple of pins on the VGA port with a paperclip. Thanks
8. Followed the guide but I fail when trying to boot the USB Lion Installer... I get the boot menu fine, I choose the Base System USB Partition. It looks like it's going well in verbose mode but the last few messages I see before it freezes are: Previous Shutdown Cause: 3 No interval found for . Using 80000000 nstat_lookup_entry failed: 2 nstat_lookup_entry failed: 2 ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::startForReal - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out Transcript Offline - Buffer Pool Allocate [181000] failed DSMOS has arrived After this point computer freezes. My hardware is: ASUS K53E Laptop: Sandy Bridge i5 2410M 6GB Ram (4GB + 2GB) Intel 3000 Graphics I'm using the GM disc image and have followed the above instructions exactly. Any ideas? Thanks
9. The 3 Download files at the bottom of the install guide in the first post, are we supposed to install all of them on first boot without USB?
10. Hey, Does anyone know if there are any tutorials out there for creating a OS X Maintenance/Recovery USB stick. I'm thinking a USB stick which you can use to boot into an OS X desktop which has things like Disk Utility and Terminal (similar to booting the Installation DVD) but also things like Carbon Copy Cloaner and maybe some other tools which could be useful if your main partition OS X installation becomes problematic. So say that you install some new kexts and can't boot any more, this would let you have a full desktop with tools to repair or restore your main install. Does such a thing exist? Thanks
11. Hi, two questions for the experts: 1) Am I right in thinking that if I buy a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 3000 then I will get full hardware acceleration in OS X? 2) If I buy a laptop with no optical drive can I get OS X installed by putting ##### on 1 usb drive and OS X on another? Thanks
12. Hi, I need to update a laptop with Jas 10.4.6 on it to 10.4.9 or greater. Is there a Jas update somewhere I can get to do this? Thanks
13. Presario C500 Laptops & Wireless Networking

Anyone know of any progress on this? I'm still using USB wireless.

I have same problem on my Fujitsu-Siemens S7110. I installed a BCM4311 but it just isn't detected no matter what I try. If this is an issue with the card not being powered up, would it be possible to just jumper a +3.3V wire (or whatever miniPCI Express uses) straight to the miniPCI Express bus connector so the car is always powered up? Cheers -Chris
15. Hi, I have a Fujitsu Siemens S7110 which has a ALC262 Intel High Definition Audio chip. When I installed Jas 10.4.9 I had no sound, but after installing AppleAzaliaAudio.kext sound worked through the laptop speakers. The issue is that I have no sound input, and only one sound output (listed as "HD Audio Output"). This means the headphone/line out port is no use. I'd like to get this working so had a shot of AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16 and tried loading ALC262_codec_dump.txt which I found on the net. When I tried that I got this message in the Patcher: AppleHDA Patcher - 2006/2007 Taruga v1.16 _______________________________________________________ Codec : Realtek ALC262 Vendor Id : 0x10ec0262 Subsystem Id : 0x104d1400 _______________________________________________________ This codec is not working at the moment, it needs more research I'd like to get this sorted but don't know where to start. If someone could give me some pointers on how to perform the required research I'd be happy to put some time in. Cheers -Chris
