  1. ok, i managed to install Chameleon 2.0 RC2 manually by following the steps 13, 14 and 15 from this post http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t165676.html NOTE: on the last command cp -p boot boot0 boot1h /Volumes/usbboot replace "usbboot" with the name of your USB volume since Im using an iDeneb install I presumed there's no need to do customize the Chameleon (step 17 and onward)
  2. im trying to install iDeneb v.1.5.1 (patched) on a MSI Wind U123 using a 16GB USB stick. i format the stick and restore the ISO using Disk Utility. all ok so far. but then i tried installing Chameleon 2.0 RC2 on the USB stick and the installer hangs forever at "Installing Core - Writing package receipt". i tried installing Chameleon on my harddrive and it worked nicely. any ideas or workarounds? tx
  3. 10.5.6 Released!

:censored2: just finished updating iDeneb v1.3 OSX86 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 I have a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 rev.2.1 with ALC889A sound. CPU is Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 3Ghz, video is EVGA 8800GT 512RAM. 2 x SATA HDD, 1 X SATA DVDRW, PS/2 KB, USB Mouse. Since iDeneb already has Chameleon bootloader included and I have OSX installed on a different harddrive, I think theres no need to install another bootloader. The DSDT i used was this DSDT Patcher GUI http://######.com/index.php?option=...0&Itemid=48 I did not move any file it generated, or so. I just chose Darwin/Mac OS X and chose the OSX partition and clicked Run DSDT Patcher. Im not even sure it did something but I wanted to be on the safe side. Before running the update, install PM Disabler or the update process will get stuck at random percentages. PM Disabler PM_Disabler.kext.zip After update, my PS2 keyboard stopped working so I couldnt type any password to install new kexts. Luckily my USB mouse kept working. I booted the iDeneb DVD and chose reset password from the menu and applied a blank new password. Rebooted in OSX and installed the ApplePS2 fix ApplePS2kexts_10.5.6.ready.zip these will fix the PS2 keyboard http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=41061 The ALC889A Sound obviously did not work anymore. So I installed the same kexts as those in 10.5.5 ALC889A___Mimi.zip these will fix the ALC889A sound (ALCinject is NOT needed any more) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=40794 Finally, restart and shutdown were broken so I used this: Gigabyte GA-(E)P35-DS3X Control Center use this for Restart fix and SMBIOS fix http://######.com/index.php?option=...4&Itemid=48 Now everything seems to be working in order except "Processor: 3Ghz unknown". No biggie there. Thank you to everyone who contributes here, uploading kexts and describing experiences. Good luck everyone!
  4. Leopard Audio Problem - ALC889A Chipset

Ok, I finally got the ALC889A sound to work with iDeneb v1.3 Leopard OSX86 10.5.5 My board is a Gigabyte EP35-DS3 rev.2.1 Here is what I did: 1) remove any trace of ALCinject and AppleHDA you might have from previous attempts. to do this, simply delete ALCinject.kext and AppleHDA.kext from System/Library/Extensions a password will prompt. 2) download the attached zip file. it contains a new AppleHDA.kext and a HDAEnabler.kext (ALCinject is NOT needed anymore). 3) install AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext for this I used OSX86Tools from pcwiz 4) After that, in OSX86Tools i chose Clear Extensions Cache, then Set Extensions permissions 5) Reboot and tada! the System Profiler shows an Intel HDA present under Audio. it also seems to recognize the S/P-DIF Out, although I cant test it cause i only have headphones. The microphone worked immediately. One thing though, I had to plug the headphones on the front of the case. Try around several connectors until you get the right one. ALC889A___Mimi.zip
  5. Mac OS X Kaliway 10.5.2 USB NOT Working

I had the same problem and indeed, the system.kext version was different from the kernel version. 9.2.0 and 9.3.0. I installed 2_kalyway_10.5.3_kernel.pkg from the kalyway_10.5.3_ComboUpdate and USB works now. Thanks.
  6. [How To] 5.1 Surround Sound

hi i got the EP35-DS3 rev.2.1 i followed the instructions and now i have sound in FrontL FrontR BackL BackR but no sub+center. in windows 5.1 is working fine. i dont use front panel connector, no pins are connected. but in os X the sub+center jack is mute. while the rest of the connectors work ok. this leaves me with 4 channels out of 6. is there any way i can enable the headphones on the back, change jack mapping etc?
  7. Bass redirection

same problem here.surround sound is working but i have 5small satellites + subwoofer so i need to cut-off the bass frequency at around 120hz and redirect it to subwoofer or else the sub is mute.is there something to be done?in windows there's usually a setting in the audio mixer.or, the audio codec should be able to handle it, like ac3filter does.but i cant seem to find any in VLC, Quicktime, or Sound preferences.if i could at least be able to make it work in a single player...
