I think you might add a reference to vmonheros 10.6.6 update so ppl interested in it would get to the conversation

fair enough! needless to say that you've done a superb job (also mosslack, melkort...) and I am pretty happy now so just pointed that minor issues to let the ppl like me know that everything else is fine and these are not a pain and deserves the switch

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

I am now running like a charm an osx installation. There are minor issues - the bluetooth ghost entries that does not represent a degraded or malfunction system. - magic mouse sometimes (1/20) doesn't pair. - hotkeys: brightness works fine but volume works 1 of 2 times I start the system. otoh, my battery last 3 hours because of the new hd (500gb 7200rpm) and the lack of auto power saving system that sets automatically the power/performance needs. Win7 had it from asus so I got 4-5h battery. I know there's a power management extension for linux named jupiter that handles that when running with battery but osx... ¿?

When I boot, after BIOS splash OSX starts very quickly so I cannot see anything about chameleon or disk selection. This is because I installed Jolicloud. I have tried to add <key>Timeout</key> <string>10</string> at the end of /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist but the boot remains the same Next I tried to press space after BIOS splash and a grey window with my primary disk appears.... bootcamp?

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

I have tested my battery today with heavy usage (desktop mainly: browser, word, pdf, spotify) and it lasted about 3h. It's not 4-5h but honestly I replaced the HD with a 7200rpm 500Gb so theres a loss here. What I am trying now is to dual-boot a simple system such as jolicloud (chrome OS isn't quite ready yet) in order to have a *travel mode*. That said, VMonHeros install is pretty clean and, at least someone reaches 4-5 hours battery life I would keep this.

crystal clear. AFAIK, it might be a little speed processing improvement but I think I am not going to switch it now Thanks!!

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

This is what I get now: # uname -a Darwin giGGlers-Mac.local 10.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 10.6.0: Wed Nov 10 18:13:17 PST 2010; root:xnu-1504.9.26~3/RELEASE_I386 i386 Sorry for my little understanding on how this works but I think I am now on 64Bits and the teateam kernel is just a patch for atom (needless to say, kudos for them!!). That said, if we run this patch could a software update corrupts the system? Thanks

I have checked it everything is fine so there might be something that is consuming extra power. thanks anyway

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

I have followed mosslack guide to 10.6.4 at the first post, no kexts installed and then VMonHeros update to 10.6.6 / 2Gb. Then I installed ethernet and sound kexts using KextUtility but no more. What I have now is an almost complete osx 10.6.6 with a few issues: battery almost 3h. I hear the fan all the time and I am not quite sure what is working hard with osx that with windows 7 didn't. Bluethooth shows lots of devices. I can't turn it off/on but I use it. This is just a minor issue, Because of the stability I have now I don't want to do something that drive me to KP!! Do I have to uninstall any kext? voodooHDS prefPane? Sleep? Do I need to install something else? OTOH, I don't have an external CD/DVD drive. Is there a guide to dual-boot win7 having osx installed? Thanks

    Dell Vostro 1500 Mega Thread

I am now trying a *very* clean install so burned iAtkos 7 (almost retail 10.5.7). My choices: Chameleon 2 /Extra DSDT AppleDecrypter Disabler OHR (didn't work) BroadCom 440x VoodooHDA Then installed VoodooBattery and, according to this http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...L_10.5.7#NVIDIA, added EFI string for my 8600GT. At this point, restart/reboot, Dual screen (yes, HCL might not be right about this), touchpad and internal keyb don't work for me OTOH, sleep, sound and wired/wireless network is ok. also the system seems to be stable since iAtkos 5 + apple updates frozenthe system after aprox. 10min of use. I feel tired about mac-hack so there would be a last chance... The only thing i can't leave behind is dual monitor 'cause touchpad/keyb is easly fixable. Also for dual screen theres a nvinject kext i posted before but wtf, is 100% mac compliant!!!

I've tried taruga's hda patcher but the sound is a bit crispy and not very fluent as well Also there's a nvinject that worked for me but new sleep works fine and this kext will break it. NVinject.kext_8600M_GT_VGA_out_M1530.zip

vegaman, i used your dsdt file and graphics are fine, also sleep works. What doesn't: sound, shutdown/reboot, vga-out. I just added voodoobattery that worked fine but nothing more. the base installation was iAtkos 5: smbiosresolver, bcm440x...
