  1. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

    Here you go. Extra.zip
  2. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

I'm not sure if this helps, but I have a HD4870 that I got working with this method. I used EVOenabler.kext and removed the EFI string from the package posted here. The EVOenabler's info.plist was modified by editing the HD4890 <key>entriesToAdd</key> with the one in ATY_init.kext for my card. The edited version can be found in this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=183064 Maybe you can do the same for the 4830, after all, it is just a slimmed down rv770 core. I have full QE/CI with this method, but the display won't wake from full sleep (it does wake from display only sleep). Hope that helps. EDIT: I can post my files for you if it helps.
  3. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

Is your USB mouse bios setting set to enabled? I had the common CMOS reset problem where it would default it to Disabled on every reboot.
  4. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

I'm not sure you can, I don't see it anywhere. Just try removing the JMicron controller kext and stick with the normal SATA ports.
  5. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

That's only 5. I believe the JMicron's are the purple ones and the 6 orange ones are on another controller.
  6. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

I got my system working almost %100. I have everything but sleep working (not a major issue). Here's my setup: EP45-UD3P (onboard sound and LAN both working) core 2 quad q9550 2x 2gb corsair ddr2 800 ATI HD4870 1GB (full QE/CI with EVOenabler ONLY) 1 Partition (GPT) on 250 GB drive on SATA0 Boot flags: none /Extra/Extensions: (not all of these are necessary, some leftover from trial and error) ALC889A.Fix.kext EVOenabler.kext fakesmc.kext LegacyHDA.kext (the orange one) NullCPUPowerManagement.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext PlatformUUID.kext SleepEnabler.kext Modifications: Patched DSDT using instructions in the kit. Worked beautifully, full sound, interwebs, and CMOS reflash problem fixed! Thanks for the great guide! If I'm capable, I'm happy to help people still having problems.
  7. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

You could try bypassing the JMicron's altogether by only using the non-purple SATA ports and disabling the front SATA's (i think this is in the bios). Also, I got my 4870 to work by using the evoenabler method without any device_id/EFI strings (i deleted the one that came in this pack in com.apple.boot.plist) Here's my reference for my 4870: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=183064 Good luck
  8. EP45-UD3P Retail Method

I tried your DSDT.aml and got mixed results. I was able to see IO devices in profiler under Audio (Build In) but nothing was listed for output devices in sound preferences. Also, this DSDT broke my ethernet (PCI card). WIth unixman's DSDT, I have no IO devices under profiler. Also I get this at boot with both DSDTs, "Not loading kext com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController - not found and kextd not available in early boot". I'm also having the CMOS reset issue on every reboot with unixman's packaged DSDT. This is my /Extra/Extensions contents: fakesmc.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext PlatformUUID.kext SleepEnabler.kext EVOenabler.kext LegacyHDA.kext ALC889A.Fix.kext Any ideas? Do I need to start learning how to decompile DSDTs? EDIT: Decompiled and edited my DSDT and got the same result as crashalert's DSDT.aml. I left out the Ethernet portion of the editing since I have a PCI card and now my internet works and I don't have the CMOS reset issue. However, I still have no sound (IO devices shown in System Profiler but nothing in Sound Preferences). Am I missing a kext somewhere? EDIT^2: Nevermind, I'm stupid. I put my patched DSDT in /Extra/Extensions. Everything works fine now. Two degrees in EE and I'm still dumb as a rock...
  9. ATI Radeon HD pkg installers 10.5.x & 10.6

lastExile, Thanks for all the hard work. I updated my AMD Zephyroth to 10.5.3 and used the pkg installer from this page. However, there are some problems. I have white menus, and the driver broke my eyeTV program. It crashes whenever it tries to display the television stream (I believe it's mpeg2). It may be related to the OpenGL framework issue, but I haven't been able to successfully patch any of the files in /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework Any ideas?
  10. I believe I have fixed all of my stability issues. I had to boot with maxmem=2048 while having 4GB of memory installed. The Zephyroth 10.5.2 installs a kernel that is not 64bit compatible and thus boots with a legacy flag invoked. This causes memory management issues that stem from not being able to address more than 4GB of memory locations (physical ram + video ram). Thus, if you tell the system you have 4GB of physical ram and yet it only knows how to get to a portion of it, some kernel panics are expected. I should be able to boot with maxmem=3584 since my video card is 512MB, but I haven't tried this yet. Hope this helps someone else out there. edit: Doesn't work with 3584. I forgot about all the other little components that have flash ram and need memory addressing. Fully stable on maxmem=3072 (3GB). Also, booting in safe mode with full 4GB is stable, but I think this is b/c my graphics card isn't utilized in safe mode, and thus, os x can address the 4GB of physical memory.
  11. Heh, I'm not sure actually. But I just bought and installed a new NIC that ran native out of box. After disabling the onboard LAN, I did a fresh install and the first thing i tried was to unrar the same 4GB file, and it will only do it in safe mode (strange). When in normal boot, it gives me a kernal panic at around 1 GB. Right now I'm downgrading to ToH 9.1.0 to see if that fixes it.
  12. Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what exactly is causing me to crash anymore. It may be a combination of cpus=1 and NIC issues; I just hope it's not a kernel issue. Hopefully it resolves itself when I buy a PCI NIC and do a fresh zephyroth install. If you can get yours working I see no reason why I can't (besides my stupidity). What kernel are you using? ToH 9.2.0?
  13. Hey, I have a very similar setup: MB: Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 CPU: AMD64 X2 5000+ (Black Edition) GPU: ATI Radeon HD 3850 512mb I also have very similar instability issues on the zephyroth 10.5.2 rev 2.0 install. I have to boot with cpus=1 for onboard ethernet to be stable. However, whenever I do anything cpu intensive (for example, unarchiving a 4GB .rar file), I get a system crash. Do you see anything like this at all? Were all of your stability issues resolved when you used a different NIC w/ onboard ethernet disabled? Are you booting without cpus=1 now? Thanks for your help!
  14. Discontinued

i've gotten this driver to crash even with cpus=1 (although it takes much much more throughput utilization). will my issues be fixed if i just purchase a USB NIC (i.e. be able to use both cores and stable internet regardless of throughput)?
  15. Ethernet Driver for Marvell 88E1116

if i buy a plug n play usb network adapter instead of using this Marvell driver, do i effectively get my other cpu core back?
