  1. 2. New boot file works great! (Second one caused a black screen, original one worked fine.) Now I just need to get it to boot at native 1920x1200 resolution at the boot screen. Yes, I realize this is a VBIOS problem, not a bootloader problem.
  3. AnVAL (ACPI Loader)

    The default, Uakari.

Despite mentioning support for the Radeon 5870, all that happens when getting past the bootloader and starting OS X is a black screen and my fans running full-blast. System boots fine with Kabyl's experimental ATI bootloader. Is there something I'm missing?
  5. My new 1GB Sapphire 5870 works beautifully! Unfortunately, I can't get any video through the DisplayPort, though this is likely an issue with the card or the adapter I am using, as there is no video output during boot or in Windows either. I'm using a 24" Apple LED Cinema Display with a StarTech DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort adapter. I know this is slightly off-topic, but if anyone has a similar card/setup, have they been able to get this configuration working? EDIT: Some research is showing that a lot of 58xx and 59xx cards have issues with DisplayPort. Still, if anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated. :glare:
  6. No, I get a kernel panic with the new bootloader. Verbose mode freezes up on "Device in SLOT-1", but no backtrace is provided as to the kernel panic. Older version works just fine with my Sapphire 5870.
  7. Just want to say it works great with my 4870. I have two installed in my system and while CrossFire worked flawlessly under Windows, the second card would always run full blast under OS X. This bootloader not only silences the card, but allows it to be recognized in System Profiler. Obviously CrossFire doesn't work, but it's pleasant not to have to deal with the constant hurricane-force noise coming from my case.
  8. AnVAL (ACPI Loader)

That fixed it! My CPU is now showing up as a 2.81GHz Intel Core i7.
  9. AnVAL (ACPI Loader)

    Nope, still says Unknown.

    Here's what CPU-X says.
  12. AnVAL (ACPI Loader)

My Core i7 860 went from being recognized as an Intel Xeon to simply "Unknown".
  13. I added the device ID of my board's LPC (pci8086,3a16) to the info.plist in AppleLPC.kext and the option is still not available in System Preferences.
  14. Sadly, at least for my EP45-DS4P, it did not update the AHCI BIOS to 1.20.
  15. Yeah, I'm fairly sure it's a motherboard-related issue, as other people with DS4Ps have been unable to get automatic sleep working either. Didn't work for me in 10.5 or 10.6. Sadly, it also seems like the only board that Gigabyte hasn't released any sort of beta BIOS for, so any hope of seeing an update from them is unlikely. I'll keep messing around though. Thanks again for the fantastic guide.
