  1. Hey all, thought it would be easy. I have localized my Hackintosh to german. So I switched to the german keyboard layout, but... ...one hour late I needed to use the @ sign, so I hit the "Alt Gr" + "Q" key. That's where on a german pc keyboard the @ sign is shown. You can imagine what happend. The program closed quietly and I could start writing everything again. But how do I solve it. I know that it possible to write a keyboard layout xml file for mac os x. But I hope that someone else already has done it for me

    D945GCLF2 Snow Leopard

Hi, If you have a DVD connected to your D945GCLF2-box, you can do installation from retail Snow Leopard DVD. I uploaded a chameleon boot cd image. Download this image, unzip and burn to cd and boot your D945GCLF2 from this new cd. When you get to the menu, eject this cd and insert the Installation DVD and Hit F5. Do a regular Installation of your favorite OS, but make sure to use a GUID Partition schema when you setup your disk with the Disk Utility. After Installation again boot from the boot cd, but this time choose the disk, which you installed Snow Leopard on. For chameleon: - download chameleon - in the Terminal type "sudo -s" - change to chameleon folder /i386 - type "diskutil list" and find out your Snow Leopard System-Partition (I use disk0 and Partition2 in this example) - put boot0 in the MasterBootRecord of your disk, type: "fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0" - put boot1h in the Bootsektor of the Systempartition, type: "dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2" - Copy boot in to the root of BootPartition, type: "cp boot /" - To make Snow Leopard Systempartition "active" (set boot flag) type sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0 f 2 write y exit You still need to have an Extra folder with some kext and a DSDT.aml to be able to boot of the disk. But this should get you started.

    D945GCLF2 Snow Leopard

I not completly through yet, with installing Leo Server but I want to say thanks to you guys: DamienValentine, The King and to everybody who helped. As we all read 10.6.2 has "again" ATOM support, I am sure we will keep enjoying a fully working Hackintosh

    D945GCLF2 Snow Leopard

I am running leopard server on this board now since 18 month, almost 24/7 and it works really great. I will be buying a small ssd in the next days and it would be a good opportunity to update to snow leo. I read through the whole thread and it seams to me that DamienValentine, ugokind, nok6230 and all the other came a long way. Wouldn't it be time to put together a guide!!! nok6230 you wrote that you wanted to write one, did you start already? DamienValentine you did all the work with the dsdt - it would really help to have some explanations or comments, so more people could optimize it without have to know everything from the beginning. I am also willing to help but the dsdt stuff in new to me. Right now I am trying to get a chameleon boot cd running. Thanks for the work

    iDeneb v1.5.1 10.5.7 for Intel/AMD SSE2/SSE3

I, too, have the problem, that the hard drive of my notebook is not shown in the installer. Booting F8 -v shows: "Failed to load extension com.apple.iokit.ioahciblockstorage" Can I load any additional kext via kextload on the installer terminal? The notbook has following Harddisk-Controller: IntelĀ® ICH8M Ultra ATA-2850
  6. Hi Guys, I have a "clean" retail OS X Server Installation and sure had the same problems. Booting with cpus=1 does work, but I found out that then USB is crippled to 12 MBit (USB 1.1). My Elgato EyeTV Stick left no room for speculation and gave a precise error before it stopped working. Thanks to fuka it now works again. Disabling hyperthreading is the much better cure. At least for now. But what are we going to do next? Is hyperthreading actually used in any real macs?

    D-Link DWA547 not detected

i just build a new hackintosh with the D945GCLF2 Atom motherboard and started with 10.5.6 At first osx wouldn't even detect the DWA-547 but after I put DSDT.aml (created with DSDTPatchGui) in the root the card is shown as Airport Extreme. I restarted the system a couple of times and connected to some networks. For now (after 2 hours) I can say, this card works good. Maybe it helps you.

RME HDSP MacOSX (x86) drivers released

0xdeadbeef: really great work! I have checked the 0.11 patch for the HDSP Madi and AES32. Hardware Rev. 205 for Madi and latest driver 2.54. Everything works! I like your patched version even better than the real thing I would say, you make a nice patcher for all rme pci devices ans then we can close this thread.

    keyboard layout for german keyboard

thanks, I will try it out.
  10. I have read now so many threads and the wikis on chain0 but my setup just doesn't work. In my case booting both mac os x and windos is not the problem, I just want to get the chain0 version to work, since I can than easily edit boot.ini when I want to(even hide MacOS at all). My setup looks like that ( 1 physical disk): 1st partition: max os x (100 gb); Type:AF Boot:00 2nd partition: WinXPSP2 (200 gb); Type:07 Boot:80 Both system boot depending on what primary partition i set active. I also can use the darwin bootloade (F8) when 1st partition is active. I have downloaded chain0 and put it on my C (Windows boot and system partition). I also edited boot.ini and included C:\chain0="Mac OS x86" When I restart I get the windows bootmenu. But when I select Mac OS x86 I will get the same many again. It seems as chain0 always leads to the second partition, where in my case windows is installed. Everytime I select Mac OS x86 I will be thown back to the bootmenu. When selction Windows everything is fine. Can someone help me please. (Btw, I choose the order of the os's on purpose)
  11. the wiki http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.4.7 doesn't show information about DVD connection. I am looking for a DVD writer and reader with SATA connection, which of course should work like a charm with osx. I am planning on getting an Intel Board, with 975 chipset. http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/D975XBX2/index.htm The wiki says that SATA is supposed to work. Also, one more question. Looking for a quite graphic card, e.g. without fan. I actually don't care if it's ati or nvidia, as long as it works with osx. I think ati is still the easier choice (without additional driver), isn't it? Thanks!
