  1. Lenovo Y480 AR8161 Gigabit, had a couple of KPs (might have been some other problem but coincided with the kext install) and now seems to have settled. Everything seems to be working OK (DHCP IP, etc.), App Store, etc. Will keep you posted if anything develops. Thanks for getting this together, I think a lot of folks are looking for AR8161 solution.
  2. Lenovo ThinkPad Y580 Notebook

I got the 640M LE working with the NVIDIA kexts from the 10.8.2 update for late 2012 iMac/MacBook 13" retina. This is in Y480. I am not certain the card is actually used but I can turn on switchable graphics in Bios without KPs during the load of the NVIDIA kexts. Maybe this can work for 660M as well.
  3. Dell Inspiron 545 Hackintosh

Did you manage to update to 10.6.8? Thanks.
  4. ApplePCIIDE.kext

The card seems to be right - VIA VT6421. Since this happened, I got a SATA (from the internal SATA port of the card) to eSATA cable and now the eSATA drive is working fine. It is not available for booting at the Chameleon splash window (as when the external HDD is connected with USB cable), but that is OK. So, the problem appears to be the eSATA port on the card itself, as it is not working under Windows XP as well. Anyway, thanks for the help and for developing the kext!
  5. ApplePCIIDE.kext

Hi there, Seems to work for everybody but me. I am on Dell Inspiron 545 running 10.6.6. System profiler does not show any PCI cards, eSATA drive is not recognized and the kext was loaded with Kext Utility in the System/Library/Extensions folder.
  6. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Hi there, For those of us trying to use the AppleHDA on 4GB 1201N, my battery indicator stopped working again (I did not pay attention if it was out immediately after waking from sleep). I repaired permissions with Apple Disk Utility, run Kext Utility and shut down the netbook. Disconnected the power supply cable, removed the battery, pressed the power button for about 20 seconds, inserted the battery and restarted the netbook on battery power. The battery indicator showed as charging, even though the power supply was not connected. When I connected the power supply cable the indicator did not change. However, when I disconnected the cable it correctly showed the netbook running on battery and now it is working as normal. Which of the things I did fixed the problem is unclear, I would think, removing the battery and pressing the power button (re-setting the PMU in some PC hardware) is likely to have helped. Next time it happens I will go for the battery removal first.
  7. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Hi Mosslack, As I wrote above with your DSDT in the beginning I had X on the battery. After half a day the indicator changed back to normal. Seems to be working since then. Some differences between your setup and the one I am using (after I used your installer v.4) and upgraded to 10.6.4 I copied the atom kernel inside the Extra folder and changed Com.apple.boot.plist to point to it. Then I installed first Chameleon RC3 and upgraded to RC5 r. 593. So, I am running with Chameleon bootloader and with the modified kernel inside the Extra folder. The Extra folder should contain your files (unless during install some files were left over from the old Extra with 10.6.3).
  8. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I have the same problem, seems it is the dsdt file (I am also with 4GB RAM) as the old one I had in 10.6.3 fixes the power issue but unfortunately disables sound. After about half a day the battery indicator showed that the charger was disconnected. I unplugged and re-plugged the power supply and now it shows that the battery is charged? I will keep an eye on this for a while. dsdt.aml.10.6.3.zip
  9. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I think Chameleon RC5 is supposed to do the same? I have moved back to the patched kernel inside /Extra/ and Chameleon RC3 as I had bunch of problems with Boot 0 errors with PC-EFI 10.5. This is on SSD drive if it matters. I guess, when I take the plunge to 10.6.3 I will have to use either the patched 10.6.3 kernel or run Chameleon RC5 before 10.6.3 upgrade and change the boot.plist for root kernel. It looks that Open GL is actually performing worse in 10.6.3, so I am not certain I will do it at all.
  10. Asus 1201N Installation and support

    Thanks, got it!
  11. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Hi there, I think I missed the post I tried to find it - where did you get the patched 10.6.3 kernel? Thanks!
  12. Asus 1201N Installation and support

This is exactly what I was trying to write, sorry if I was not clear ;-)
  13. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I assume that at this stage you have OS X on your internal HD. I personally want to see the Extra folder, and I also do not use the regenerate DSDT, I have had no problems with these settings - i.e. both of the options are unchecked when I use the NetBook Installer - this should work for you as well. Good luck!
  14. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Hi there, I am afraid that this was a hardware problem, most likely with the rocker under the single button. While I was working the mouse click would not release. At this point I tapped (I think it was moderately strong tap) with two fingers in the trackpad area, close to the center of the trackpad. It seems to have dislodged the rocker and now the trackpad is working fine (do not know for how long). I am writing this for anyone else that might encounter the problem. Of course, reproducing the tap is another thing and I am not looking forward to having to repeat this again ;-). So, I will keep with the 0324 for now. Thanks!
  15. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Wouldn't disabling in BIOS do the job? BTW, I have another problem, do not know if it is the new BIOS (0324) or something else. The 1201 was working OK, but when I tried to use the click I got the contextual menu instead. When I booted in Windows the trackpad had exactly the same behavior - i.e. the left button or single click behaved as right button. After sleep the left button is back to normal but the right button does not wrk at all. I tried resetting the 1201 by removing the power and battery and waiting for 30 seconds. Upon reboot Snow is back to the weird trackpad behavior if clicking is enabled in the trackpad. When I disable clicking I can use the left button but the right is still dead. It looks like a hardware problem more I think about it? But it worked just an hour before that fine and it was not even shut down (I just had Mail and Firefox running). I am unable to flash back to 0321 - the Asus Update utility claims it did it (although flash ends right away, so it is clear that it is not done correctly) and upon reboot I still have 0324 Bios.
