  1. Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 driver

Actually, you can buy a working card (out of the box) with shipping for about 40 bux on ebay Pretty easy to swap out too. It's all about the development however James
  2. I had this problem on my Inspiron 6000 with the older version of the bundle (llamaguys) but keith's works fine on it. Updates charge % all the time. The only problem is the known breaking of DVD player, but like others I just installed a 3rd party player to take care of that. James
  3. Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 driver

I'm a little inexperienced with drivers but decent enough with code that I might be able to help. Send me a pm with files and I'll take a look. James
  4. This isn't good. I run Windows, OSX and Linux on my laptop. I must be a combination of Bin laden, Bush and the American Public. What does that make me exactly?
  5. Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 2200B/2915

I agree, this seems to be the base framework including a nice GUI for control for the IEEE framework. (even looks to have proper wep support) I'll tinker with this as well but I doubt I'll be able to do much, done a fair chuck of coding in my day but nothing on this level. But the more of us involved the better the chances. If I get anywhere I'll let you all know first. James
  6. Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 2200B/2915

Uh, didn't this happen a few days ago? No offense intended as we all appreciate the hard work but so many people are hanging on deciding to buy different hardware as a solution and all we'd like to see is proof that this isn't some hoax used to string people along. Personally I suspect he's got a friend who's working on it and he's really not involved with development and if thats the case, cool. In any case, if what you say is true just posting what you've got would probably get a semi-working driver inside of a few days.

With that attitude why would anyone care about you?
  8. alc880 won't work...

*EDIT* Got 2 channel output working finally - turns out I had the wrong AC97 kext version I know some people have had success getting this working with multiple channels, but I'm at least pacified now I can listen to music. Hmm, I'm having similar problems with 10.4.5 and ACL880 not working. I've tried all of the suggestions I could find here but have had no success. I'm running a Foxconn 915A03-G-8EKRS (7.1 Channel Realtek Audio) and can't even get 2 channels working. My bios has two options for onboard sound, Azalia and AC97, I have tried disabling and enabling all possible combinations without success. I've removed AppleHDA kext, made sure the vender/device id's are ok and still nothing. I don't even see it trying to be inited at boot time however so I'm a little confused. Any ideas? Everything else works great. Thanks. James
  9. Removing Vista's Boot file from XP

I'm sure there is a way to do it, but I spent a few days trying to completey wipe an expired beta of Vista from my PC only to eventually refomat the drive and start over. I tried just about everything I could think of, including wiping the MBR and restoring it with XP repair console to no avail. It was a pain to get dual boot working and seemingly impossible to put it back. Vista is a bloated ugly bugger - worst OS MS has released since Win ME (if you want to call that an OS IMHO. James
  10. [HowTo] Intel GMA 900 (for 915GM and 910)

I've been messing with this for a while, but I'm not sure whats wrong. Should Andy4lifes's fix work on 10.4.3? Seems my Inspiron 6000 (Intel915gm/GMA900) sticks to 1024x768 mode when booting . VID: family specific matching fails (x3) VID2: family specific matching fails (x3) I'm using the kext's Andy provided, but I assume those are for 10.4.1 not 10.4.3 and thus my problem, anyone got them for 10.4.3. Been hunting through posts looking but I haven't had any luck. I thought I backed up the originals when doing this, but apparently not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. James
