  1. Realtek ALC1200 (Asus P5Q) not work on kalyway 10.5.2

you can find the solution to the sound problem in the below post Click Here I could not get the network card working but thankfully I've had a spare realtek card laying around so no problems there. As for the sound, only playback is supported but it's better than nothing.
  2. OSX86 on Intel P45 chipset?

unplug all usb storage media before installation. I've run into very same problem and it took me a while to realise what went wrong. also in my case switiching to plug and play os = yes in bios solved most of the issues.
  3. OSX86 on Intel P45 chipset?

Ok I have managed to get it running. It turned out that I had to set Plug & Play OS in Bios to Yes for it to work. iatkos 10.5.4 installed out of the box, nvinstaller0.52 got my graphic card working and for the net I am using the old pci realtek card which I had from my very old box. Now all I need to get running is the sound. Which drived did you use ? HDAudio, Azalia, HDAEnabler ? Thanks in advance.
  4. OSX86 on Intel P45 chipset?

I have P5Q Pro motherboard with C2D E6300, 4GB of DDR2 800Mhz Ram and GeForce 9800GT 512MB. I have serious issues while trying run os x. I have used the modded bios from this forum. Having done that I have managed to install iAtkos v1.0i 10.5.1 (none other distro either Kalyway or Leo4All did not work with the installation throwing kernel panics at various stages) iAtkos was installed with vanilla kernel and Efi. Had to disable nvinject and e2fs and ntfs3g install options as they have been causing kernel panics. Apart from that system run fine, no gfx, sound or net yet but that can be fixed later. Having installed that i have tried Kalyway 10.5.3 combo updated and installed the vanilla kernel 9.3 along with it as well. Now after reboot it does have problems finding the root drive. The Error is: Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort This is quite strange as it was working ok with the 10.5.1 iatkos. Please see the attached screenshot. Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue ?
  5. Virgin Media Throttling

I would stay away from Talktalk. It's even worse. Been there and got disconnected because I was downloading too much (on their supposedly unlimited package). Customer service was absolute mess and the connection s**ked badly. It's better to put up with Virgin for the moment as eventually most provider will be throtling. At least with Virgin Media you know that you can download as much as you want between 9pm - 9am. During the day I simply stop my downloads. Not ideal but I can live with it for the moment. And btw, virgin is not tracking your downloads. Records companies do, if they find you are sharing 'illegal' music then they will request virgin to send you a letter. Virgin themselves do not spy on you (at least they are denying it). if you really after privacy go through services like swissvpn.net . That will not solve your throttling issue but it will certainly make almost impossible for BPI to trace and prosecute you.
  6. What about the other way around? I mean to enable Apple Remote Desktop services (in remote access in system prefs) and then use some kind of ard client to connect to it either from linux or from windows. (of course there's logmein service which works rather well and is free at the moment).
  7. 10.5.3 Update Guide

I have install 10.5.2 from Kalyway's DVD on my Athlon64 . Can I install update without patching the updated files for AMD processors or do I have to wait for hacked updates ?
