  1. Installing Leopard 10.5.2 on Compaq M2105CA

Alright here is the final peace of news, hoping that someone in the same shoes as I was for weeks gets inspired to keep trying. I've had total success now (well that minus QE/CI which seems to be impossible on ATI Xpress 200M). So final score? Distribution Used: Leo4x200.iso Follow the info on it, replace the AppleOnboardPCATA.kext with SB200/SB400/SB450 (mine is a SB450). Install Callisto 0003b (Fixed) Install SB400 Audio (AppleAC97Audio.kext [AppleAC97ATIIXP.kext]) (this one gave me some trouble, kept getting kernal panics, finally figured out the package had a AppleAC97VIAAudio.kext or something similar, that was causing it to freeze on install and panic after reboot), got rid of that from the original AppleAC97Audio.kext) Sound now works (even the mute/vol up/vol down buttons work on my laptop) Install RTL8139 NIC get package from drivers section here, works perfectly. Wireless? Broadcom driver was included in Leo4x200.iso So now everything works, trackpad is Synaptics so worked right off the bat... Now, if u are having problems and are getting dicouraged and sometimes doesn't seem like anyone answer, just keep looking... U'll find your answer, and if u don't, do what I did, mix and match and mess around till u get something working lol Hope it helps... Ecliptical
  2. Installing Leopard 10.5.2 on Compaq M2105CA

Yeah actually I got it working... the slow thing is related to the AppleOnboardPCATA.kext fix, for SB200/400/450 and such... once u got that it works like a charm... video, well Use Callisto 003b (no QE/CI) but it works... trackpad, yeah, works, (ApplePS2 kext file has something to do with it), same goes for internal keyboard. NOw how I got it done and fast too? Leo4x200.iso floating around, works like a charm... here is the thread... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...104657&st=0 Hope it helps ya!
  3. Installing Leopard 10.5.2 on Compaq M2105CA

Any ideas guys? Prety pls? hehehe *bump*
  4. VMWare Fusion on a Hack?

I had the same problem, then I decided to investigate why the word "Quartz" appeared, which led me to the conclusion it had something to do with QE/CI (Quart Extreme) being disabled, so I dug through on how to enable it on my card using NVInject, and voila... I now was able to install windows XP under Fusion... Hope this helps
  5. Installing Leopard 10.5.2 on Compaq M2105CA

Update 2: Well so much for that... Everything was supper slow I let the installation run through it's course, but it got stuck at 2% left maybe (39minutes on the screen), so after 15+ hrs no good... I did make the observation that the AppleVIAATA.kext was loaded in the boot of the installation process, and all the other images I used did not seem to load that... now maybe it's because the Hard Drive is a SATA and that this kext menaged to ge through but maybe it was an old version or something, now that being said, I need some help edditing the Kalyway image to add a new version of these kext's any one would volunteer the how to process? :censored2:
  6. Installing Leopard 10.5.2 on Compaq M2105CA

Update: Allright, I managed using Kalyway 10.5.2 Image to get to the installation Screen, got the drive partitioned (journalled) and selected everything I needed under custom, but the thing is cralling on the install screens... Estimated time for instalation (13hrs 27m) Oh, the Hard Drive is Sata most definately well thats what the disk utility said anyways. What was done different? Well I normally when I have a problem (install process hanging) I use the follwing switches: -v -x in that order. I had already tried that... and always got the same waiting for root... message. This time I typed -x -v and it went through but it is crawling on the istalation, I will let it continue, but I hope it doesn't run like that (uberable) Anyone have any other sugestions? Thanks in advance, Alex
  7. Hi guys, After a whole lot of searching around and various sucessfull installs on a couple of desktop PCs, I stil cannot get Leo install on my laptop. I have tried the following releases so far. Kalyway 10.5.2 (Intel/AMD SSE2/SSE3) Leo4All 10.5.2 Zephyroth 10.5.2 Rev 1 Still cannot get past the "Still waiting for root device...". Tried diferent switches and all... nothing... So here's a breakdown of the system I am trying to install on. Pressario M2105CA (M2000 canadian model Compaq Model Number EC217UA#ABL) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...3482#N792Compaq 1.6 GHz AMD Mobile Sempron 2800+ 1GB DDR Ram Video card is a ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M 40GB (4200RPM) Hard Drive (based on speed would assume IDE but not sure) 24X DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive (I think it's a sony GCC-4243N) Conexant CX20493-58 Modem 56K Broadcom WLan Adapter (not sure exact model) Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio and bellow is a screenshot of CPU-Z with more usefull info. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get this to boot, so far any other problems I have encountered I have been able to find and answer for searching here, but this one seems to be related to SB400 SB, but Leo4All and Zephyroth packages have success stories on installing on those, in fact there is a selection for SB400 on the packages of the customization on the install of Leo4All (I have seen it while installing on another PC). Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to get my past the "Still waiting for root device..." dreaded message. Let know, And thanks in advance for your time in answering
