  1. [Guide] Using DSDT with the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L

Hey blackosx. Thanks again for the great guides, as I am writing this on a "fully" working Snow Leopard. My last attack is getting audio working. Right now, I don't have it working. With the patcher program you gave us, it doesn't include a lot of other codecs, including mine, ALC883. I have a codec dump that I used to edit the AppleHDA.kext and I used this in leopard. This method doesn't work anymore, as it gives a KP in Snow Leopard. What I am saying is, do you know how I can transfer my codec dump and add it into the DSDT in the correct place. I know it,s not straight forward copy/paste, but I am at a loss. If you have any input, it is appreciated. Thanks, Sam
  2. Perfect install....well sooo close

Wow, thanks for the quick reply. That did the trick!
  3. Before the install, in my Leopard install, my firewire card would show up without any modification to anything. In Snow Leopard, it does not show up at all. To make sure it was still working, I went back into my Leopard partition, and it is there. Back into my Snow leopard partition, however; it is not visible. The firewire card is a TRENDnet rev 1.2. If anyone else has gotten their Firewire card to work, please help. Thanks so much for any input, Sam
  4. My firewire card no longer works in 10.6. It gives power to devices, but isn't recognized at all. When I used it in 10.5, it didn't need a kext at all. So, I don't know what to do to make it work right. Thanks for any help, Sam
  5. ALC883 Audio

Thanks so much! That was easy. Now my Audio works!
  6. ALC883 Audio

I don't exactly know how to patch my dsdt for my audio. WHen using one guide, it only had ALC88a and 889. (ACPI patcher)
  7. Same. I have ALC883 and can't get anything to work. I just tried legacyHDA and it didnt work either.
  8. ALC883 Audio

I have finally gotten Snow leopard to install and all my files are set. The last issue is my audio. I have ALC883. I have tried three things: Voodoo, 10.4.8 ALC883 installer, and targa's HDA enabler file. They all didn't work. I still get no output/input options. Has anone gotten this 883 to work? If so, please share. Thanks so much, SK
  9. Hey blackosx, once again, thanks so much for the neat guide. I am trying everything over and over again, and have tried multiple kexts. I get this KP immediate boot. http://img75.imageshack.us/i/photov.jpg/ If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. P.S. Sorry to post again, but the error has changed after a little fooling.
  10. Kernel panic immediately during boot

I tried both things, and neither helped...
  11. Kernel panic immediately during boot

I also get a kernel panic immediately and this is what i get.
  12. I tried reinstalling the bootfile, but that didn't change much. I know the DSDT is working partly, because my CMOS is not reseting every time i try to boot 10.6, and yes, I have tested it in 10.5. I get a similar error, after trying to reinstall the bootfile, but something I see that is big is Unable to find drivers for this platform: \"ACPI\. If this is a problem, which it could be, when I replaced the boot file, and reset finder to not show hidden files, it still shows the boot file. SHouldn't that be hidden. I saw this, and tried to replace it again with terminal, and it still shows. Could this somehow be the problem. Not sure. Thanks for the help. SK
  13. So, I tried your guide but with my GA-945GZM-S2 mobo. When I start up the hard drive after clicking it after the F12, it gives me chameleon, and i click verbose on the Snow drive. It begins to start up, but I get a KP every time. I took a pic of it to see if any of you could take the wording apart and tell me what it means I have wrong. I used the 32-bit portion of the kexts and followed the guide very closely. I know my DSDT is working because my CMOS doesn't get reset. Thanks for any help. SK
  14. Linksys WMP 300N- no N mode?

Hi all, I have rebranded my Linksys WMP 300N card as per another peer here on this forum. Now, in System Profiler, I get: Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x87) Wireless Card Locale: USA Wireless Card Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.38.35) In Network Utility, it says under Network Interface (en1): Link Speed: 54 Mbit/s Link Status: Active Vendor: Apple Model: Wireless Network Adapter (802.11 a/b/g/n) Now, I have 2 networks in my house. One that is for the older G devices, and another that is for N devices. The networks are easily distinguished as Network_G and Network_N. I can only see Network_G in the Airport menu, so that tells me something is not working on the N radio mode. My other real mac can see the N network, so I know it works. I don't know what else to try. If anyone has any ideas, please share. Thanks so much!
  15. Alternative NVIDIA 10.5.6 Quicktime 7.55/7.6 Mouse Lag Fix
