  1. Output screen on a Dual Head GFX Card?

its a plasma, connected via a crt (15pin vga?) cable. It works pretty well for watching movies, both in windows and ubuntu. and thanks!
  2. Hi, I recently got my Nvidia 6200 AGP Card working with QE/CI and Titan, running on 10.4.8, semthex beta. It works great but because the GFX is dual head, it outputs to display to my CRT (actually my plasma screen) instead of my monitor on DVI. I can't really switch them round without buying some more expensive cables or some drastic feng-shui. I was wondering if there was any way to specify which monitor OSX outputs to? Any pointers would also be welcome. Thanks.
  3. i do not recommend this patch, it seems to be severely flawed and will kill your kernel. The recovery instructions included do not work as the system is unable to boot in single user mode. however, i was able to recover the system by booting the backup kernel at the Darwin bootloader, simply issue "mach_kernel.102" or whatever you named your backup.
  4. Happened to me too. Is there any way to fix this? Please help, I was just finishing up a near perfect system!
  5. ATTN: AC97 soundmax Sound Working!

Thanks so much for this... it has ended hours of me pouring over datasheets and pulling my hair out. Someone should sticky this!
  6. Stability of OSx86

hey thanks very much guys, exactly what I needed to know. I think I will stick with windows for the time being, and see what happens over the next few months.
  7. Stability of OSx86

Hi all, i've been browsing these forums for while but this is my first post, I'm very interested in building an dual boot OSx86 system, but there are just a couple of things i need to know before i get started. Firstly, how stable is the OS on an x86 platform? I gather that this depends on the hardware but is it possible to get a system working perfectly? As well as it would if it were on the PowerPC hardware? I found this excellent howto at http://osx86.theplaceforitall.com/howto/ and I was wondering whether this would provide a perfectly working system, crash free and able to run all compatible software including professional and resource hungry graphics apps. Right now i'm at odds to whether I should buy/build a system with mac hardware, or run osx on a PC. Performance wise am I right in thinking that a good installation of OSx86 will run better because of the increased processing power? Or will hardware issues hold it back to sub G5 performance? Does anyone have any experience/advice about how this setup run: ASRock 775Dual-915GL Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Pentium 4 630 3 Ghz Socket 775 800Mhz 2mb 2gb RAM 120gb SATA HD NEC 3550a DVD-RW Usb graphics tablet I dont mean to be fastidious, but I'd rather be safe than sorry when making an investment like this, and I'm sure someone here will have had some valuable experience with these components. Thanks in advance.
