    Ati Radeon 6870 eyefinity 6xoutput

I'm using XFX Adapter Mini-Displayport to DVI (Active, Single-Link). The active adapters from Club 3D did not work. Yes,1xDVI (upper one),1xHDMI,1xMDP Seems like having the right active MDP->DVI adapters is crucial. Like I mentioned above, Club 3D adapters (albeit being "active") did not work, the ones from XFX did.

@baguazao: Nope, if you only need to get 3 outputs to work, I suggest you get a regular 6870; works out of the box for me with 3 monitors.

Any updates so far? I'm struggling as well to get 6 outputs to work with a 6870 Eyefinity 6 (1002:6738). However running any of the following options and their combinations result in a grey screen after the OS X load spinning wheel: -GraphicsEnabler=No -PCIRootUID=1 -AtiConfig=Bulrushes
  4. It is possible to install it first to a non-RAID-disk and afterwards, clone it to a RAID-disk and make them bootable by adding EFI or installing Chameleon. (for EFI-method see my posts regarding RAID-setup in this thread, for Chameleon there's a thread in here somewhere).
  5. Did you set your BIOS correctly? HT and Cores disables?
  6. Are you sure you have BIOS configured right? Looks like you have HT or multiple cores on. I didn't find any drivers to support the onboard raid, so it's a software raid from within OS X.
  7. I'm finished Thanks a lot for all your help. Now I have OS X Retail Installation with EFI on i7-920 at 4x4Ghz with all Cores and HT working on a Software RAID0 with 2xGigabit LAN, Stereo-Audio, 9800GTX+ (with hardware-acceleration and dual-monitor) and VMWare-compatibility. I just followed the guide minus these exeptions: used Asus P6T Deluxe Boot-132 v3 (spinning beachball freeze just before installation otherwise) used disk0s2 instead of disk0s3 at "rd(0,1)/mach_kernel.voodoo busratio=20 -v -f rd=disk[n]s3" (because I installed from OS X-backup-DVD, got "Still waiting for root device" otherwise) updated to 10.5.6 via USB-stick immediately after DSDT/EFI and before driver installation (only audio would work otherwise and LAN and video cause freezings, when not freezing LAN would always show "Cable not connected") installed XNU Voodoo-Kernel 9.5.0 Release 1.0 Revision A and placed kernel + System.kext on EFI (VMWare would KP otherwise) That's it To get RAID-0 running I just created a RAID-array in diskutility and rebooted on failure "RAID could not be found" and tried again (worked for me several times now) cloned my OS X installation to the new RAID-drive via SuperDuper created EFI partition on the first RAID-slice (/dev/diskXs1) updated new EFI partitions boot.plist kernel-flag "boot-uuid=" with the uuid of the raid-drive added the missing extensions to new EFI from /System/Library/Extensions.mkext Now it get's a little bit strange: created a second EFI partition on the first RAID-slice at /dev/diskXs3 ("Apple Boot OS X") cloned the first EFI partition to the second one Don't really now why the second is needed, but otherwise the bootloader doesn't see any partition to boot (RAID-drive is not shown for whatever reason) And finally: hide the second EFI partition from mounting by creating corresponding /etc/fstab-entry Again, thanks to MJ for his work and the great support!
  8. You can fix the "Waiting for RAID to come online" error by having none of the disks of the raid array at /dev/disk0. I cloned the image to the RAID partition, but on boot the bootloader doesn't see the RAID drive. Seems I need to load a driver on EFI before that, but don't know which. Maybe we have more luck using the MARVELL SAS RAID Storage Controller? Any drivers out there? UPDATE: Got RAID0 working, but still has to boot from another EFI partition UPDATE: Seems like it's working now without external EFI partition
  9. Anyone tried getting this thingy running on RAID? Haven't had any success so far... UPDATE: Got RAID0 working, but still has to boot from another EFI partition
  10. UPDATE:LAN and Graphis issue resolved! Just needed to update to 10.5.6 before doing those driver installations! Umm....? So, we don't have any prove that LAN is working? Could you just try it and plug a cable in? Great, although I think it shouldn't make any difference as long as those are added to EFI afterwards. Hurry up and we can work on the non-proved-working-LAN-problem See ya...
  11. Only works when I do both... Ok, I'll try that. Ok, I'll try that as well, really appreciate your help, Grazie! Only temporary, but when, then only with "LAN cable not connected". Update: 2 Installations, 1x iDeneb 10.5.5, 1x Retail, iDeneb LAN works, Retails doesn't, after installation LAN-Port is active, after putting LegacyAppleYukon in, LAN-Port gets deactivated and won't work in iDeneb either!? Messages while booting in iDeneb after trying to get Retail-LAN to work: AppleYukon: Failed to get ACPI device, Transfer does not complete Needed CMOS-Reset to get it back. Yukon.kext from iDeneb in Retail-Installation has same problem, maybe it's ACPI-related?
  12. The ISO was created using SlimBuild as I said above, your md5 is fine. I installed several times now, seems to work fine here (with CPU/FSB-Multiplier-annoyance). No special BIOS settings (i7-920, 1102). Cores + EFI-boot work, but still can't get neither LAN or gfx to work.... LAN: - tried LegayAppleYukon2.kext, Yukon2.kext from OSX86-Tools Installer, seperate with higher version number and injected in AppleYukon2.kext within IONetworkingFamily.kext Did show "yukon: " followed by mac-adresses for a short time, but only with always disconnected LAN-cables in OS X Network preferences. Since then, no more yukon: in boot-logs. It's like the LAN-hardware is completely gone. Graphics (Gainward 9800GTX+): - tried created EFI String using gfxutil and osx86-driver-database and injected to boot.plist <device-properties/>, always freezing while booting USB: - will only mount USB-devices when at least one USB-device is plugged in at boot-time. Everything pre-update.
  13. No, since I haven't got LAN working yet :-( Update: Legacy already had higher versionnumber (3.0.10 vs 3.0.4) and setting it to 99 didn't change anything. Copied the relevant part to the original AppleYukon2.kext and it did show for sometime a Yukon: MAC-Adress in the boot-log and two ports (but without LAN-Cables) in the Network-Preferences. After a few boots, there's isn't event that anymore. Noticed that the LAN-port wouldn't even blink anymore. Will try to disable/enable in BIOS and try again. Yep, that did work, just when I memorized the line :-) no more manually booting, great, thx. So, it's safe to just install the XNU package? Do I have to consider something special? Do I need to copy it from somewhere to the EFI partition or remove the kernel from the EFI partition? I inserted the deviceproperty-string as suggested in the boot.plist, but it freezes on booting. No special error message observed. So far - installed from Retail with Boot-132 without seatbealt and AppleSMBIOSEFI - installed DSDT-Patch and enabled HT + all cores - installed EFI partition with added seatbelt and AppleSMBIOSEFI - added mach_kernel.voodoo to root - added "bt(0,0)/mach_kernel.voodoo busratio=20 rd=disk0s2" to boot.plist on EFI partition ToDo - get LAN to work - get Video 9800GTX+ to work - get USB-drives to mount not only when at least one is plugged in at boottiime
  14. Progress so far: ISO without seatbealt and appleSMBIOSEFI created with Slimbuild* - shows CPU/FSB-Multiplier missing but continues after pressing Y - boots fine otherwise and starts installations - adding appleSMBIOSEFI afterwards to /Volumes/EFI and DSDT-patching works fine as well (seatbealt still out) *) seems that slimbuild is causing the problem with CPU/FSB - not the missing .kexts, @MJ: could you create a new one with your method? Problems - doesn't seem to load all .kext - no LAN (can't see anything with Yukon2 in the output, although drivers installed as described) - no gfx-card-support (9800GTX+, just default support, freezes at boot with NVINJECT) - have to boot manually "bt(0,0)/mach_kernel.voodoo busratio=20 rd=disk0s2", seems neither to load boot.plist from EFI and /Library/Preferences/SystemSupport Any ideas? How did you add the EFI-Strings for your card? Update - Tried to install without those two kexts above but boot afterwards with those two => boot freezes at configd: InterfaceNamer: no network interfaces, could not update platform UUID - Installation without those two kexts but adding both to EFI => KP at IOAHCISerialATAPI (AppleAHCIPort.cpp:2135)
