    FileVault 2

So I ended up giving in, and just mirrored my drive with ditto, while in recovery. That booted fine, which is great - now I have a working macOS install again. I'm currently letting the other drive complete encryption, out of curiosity whether it will solve the issue I was having. I'm going to stick with unencrypted though, so even if it works I think I'll revert it. --- EDIT --- No luck getting it to boot even when fully encrypted. Just decrypting now. Wonder what I missed...

    FileVault 2

Yeah tried both of those too... Single user mode goes nowhere, as I can't get to the FileVault 2 Preboot screen. Decrypting refuses as it is in the process of encrypting, but I can't seem to get it to finish encrypting either... I was hoping vit9696 might give me some advice, as he likely knows what the error actually means, so I'll wait a few more days. Worst case, I'll boot recovery, create a new partition, mount the current one and use ditto to copy all my files over. That should let me get an unencrypted apfs partition, that should work. For the future, I need to start making backups... Thanks anyway, Zach

    FileVault 2

Yeah, I've tried that one. I can view all my files in recovery, but it seems to lock back up immediately on reboot. I'm not sure if this is due to different implementations by vit9696... I've also tried resetting NVRAM, as per another apple support discussion, but no luck there. At this point it's looking more and more like I'm going to have to start over...

    FileVault 2

Just took a look at that link. From what I understand, having read this thread, vit9696 and others have written newer drivers? Specifically, for each of those in the link you gave me: AppleImageCodec-64.efi AppleUITheme-64.efi FirmwareVolume-64.efi HashServiceFix-64.efi AppleEvent.efi AppleKeyAggregator-64.efi AppleKeyMapAggregator.efi AppleUISupport-64.efi > New solution that provides all the above, got this one. AptioInputFix-64.efi > Got this one too. AppleKeyFeeder.efi > Only necessary sometimes, if input doesn't work - I don't get far enough to see... If I've missed something, please do point it out though! Thanks, Zach --- EDIT --- To clarify, I'm never presented with the FileVault UI, and instead my laptop just hangs. According to booting verbose, I'm near certain the issue is related to the line... BuildUser(): error building a user of type 0x20010008

    FileVault 2

Hi there, hoping this is the right place to post, as I'm a little at lost. Yesterday I updated to macOS 10.14, and in the process decided to let the APFS conversion do its thing. This all went fine, and after when I logged into Mojave, it asked if I wanted encryption. Feeling adventurous I said yes. Unfortunately, my laptop froze up at some point, and so I forcibly rebooted - stupid, I know. Now I can't seem to boot macOS, although the recovery drive works fine. I'm currently offered three boot options, being FileVault from preload, install macOS from preload, or boot recovery. Neither of the preload options work, both presenting me with a blank screen. Attempting to load with verbose flashes some text, which I managed to capture on video. The final line here is 'start loginwindow initialize'. Just above this appears to be the actual cause, which is 'BuildUser(): error building a user of type 0x20010008'. In recovery, I can see the APFS encryption status is 15% through, and paused. It does not resume even with power connected. I can unlock the drive via terminal, and view all my files. Ideally I wish to either complete this encryption, or revert it to an unencrypted drive, without having to reinstall. I have tried clearing my nvram via clover, and via 'nvram -c'. I have now also ran CleanNvram via the EFI shell, but no luck. Attached is a zip of my clover files. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Zach --- EDIT --- I have swapped to use VirtualSMC, in hopes it would make a difference, but no such luck. CLOVER.zip

    IntelHD 4600 Screen Problem

Probably easiest if you take a look at my DSDT/SSDT hotpatches and Clover configs, which you can find here. SSDT-HDAU, along with AppleALC.kext seem to provide everything for it, though I haven't checked it recently. Currently I'm on my desktop, but next time I use my laptop and the TV is free, I'll test it.

    IntelHD 4600 Screen Problem

Hiya all, Finally got a fix! Ended up swapping to inject ig-platform-id=0x04260000, which has solved all my graphics issues including flickering. HDMI works, except for audio, which I'll work on eventually. I had to set Clover to 1024x768 in order to solve the graphics glitch though. EDIT: Got HDMI audio working by injecting a custom HDEF and HDAU SSDT. Very distorted, but that might just be the HDMI -> VGA adaptor.

    IntelHD 4600 Screen Problem

Unfortunately I need the full 1080p. Setting resolution in clover to 1024x768 does fix the boot glitch though, just not the flickering.

    IntelHD 4600 Screen Problem

Do you mean in Clover, or the actual macOS settings?

@momodding, I just tested it and nope, not anymore...

    IntelHD 4600 Screen Problem

Hiya all, I have this issue too, on my laptop, as you can see here. As with @momodding it goes away after a sleep/wake cycle, however after this, the screen occasionally flickers. My clover folder can be seen here, with sensitive details removed. My clover config is all via hotpatching, the source for which is in the ACPI patched folder along with the compiled files. I am injecting IntelGFX=0x04128086, and ig-platform-id=0x0a260006. All kexts are injected via Clover currently (albeit CodecCommander, BrcmPatchRam2, and BrcmFirmwareRepo, which are in /L/E). I did previously try with my kexts in /S/L/E. If you have any other questions feel free to ask, I'm currently stuck so any help is great.
  12. Hiya all, Hopefully someone can help me out as I can't seem to find a fix. I've downloaded the installer from the app store, and set up Clover with the required kexts, and the apfs driver. In my clover config, I have the fix_headers bit enabled, after having read that might cause issues but no luck. Basically, when I run: /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/startosinstall --converttoapfs NO After the reboot and selection of the install thing in clover, the progress bar gets about 50% before rebooting. If I stay on that partition, the installer begins again and does the above over and over. If I boot to macOS I get the popup saying an issue was encountered, which doesn't give much detail: Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)[8794C760-FDD9-3664-ADED-4A9BBEC6E517]@0xffffff7f85b96000->0xffffff7f85b9efff com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform(6.1)[642EF8D6-8F86-3F92-B450-FDC9BAE4F3DD]@0xffffff7f86388000->0xffffff7f86423fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)[8794C760-FDD9-3664-ADED-4A9BBEC6E517]@0xffffff7f85b96000 dependency: com.apple.driver.AppleSMCRTC(1.0)[3F01C7A4-754F-39DD-A872-B4FAF0442276]@0xffffff7f86381000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.9)[DF1517A2-32C4-328E-9890-03E6C546604A]@0xffffff7f85b9f000 com.apple.driver.IOPlatformPluginFamily(6.0d8)[C4A394AA-3929-3CF9-824C-2D05C7D26A64]@0xffffff7f88eeb000->0xffffff7f88ef2fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)[8794C760-FDD9-3664-ADED-4A9BBEC6E517]@0xffffff7f85b96000 com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin(1.0)[322055F7-47B1-348E-8A5D-778CDF6CB0CE]@0xffffff7f88f54000->0xffffff7f88f63fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)[8794C760-FDD9-3664-ADED-4A9BBEC6E517]@0xffffff7f85b96000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.9)[DF1517A2-32C4-328E-9890-03E6C546604A]@0xffffff7f85b9f000 dependency: com.apple.driver.IOPlatformPluginFamily(6.0.0d8)[C4A394AA-3929-3CF9-824C-2D05C7D26A64]@0xffffff7f88eeb000 dependency: com.apple.driver.IOPlatformPluginLegacy(1.0.0)[4CA242D2-49D3-3280-AD1E-1636D28DA341]@0xffffff7f88f42000 dependency: com.apple.driver.AppleSMC(3.1.9)[C988D068-D92E-35CD-ACD0-22CF6E8150FA]@0xffffff7f86362000 I have the latest FakeSMC in both the Clover Kexts folder, and /S/L/E. I also have the latest Lilu, and FakePCIIDs. Hopefully someone else has an idea, because I'm stuck. Thanks in advance, Zach I just tried again after having dropped the MATS table, but still have errors. I figured a full log is more useful, so take a look https://pastebin.com/7zR3ESju. Well, I managed to fix it by completely repatching my SSDTs/DSDT.
