  1. LOGIC 8 BENCHMARK

I managed to run 22 tracks for a period longer than 2 minutes today(in the same conditions).... but since then its between 17-19 tracks.... By looking at the meters It looks as if the core manager did a constant good job my rig would handle 22 tracks every single time. It seems that it s the bad core usage balance that cause logic to stop.... not all cpu power is used. Maybe logic is not as efficient as ableton live at handling multicore.
  2. LOGIC 8 BENCHMARK

Nice to see some interest : ok, for those having trouble downloding it, see attached file. Actually I tried at different latency but it seems to make litlle or no difference. 256 seem to be the optimal latency setting for my system... The Rme seems to get on really well with my rig. Not bad ! We have similar specs.... still at least 2 extra track comparing to me. I wonder did you tweak anything on osx ? Regarding my original post:I did make sure all program were close to ensure no processing power was waisted. It did allow me to have an extra track during testing. 3. My RME FIREFACE 400 work flawlessly on my badaxe2 with 10.5.2 installed
  4. I've just posted a Logic benchmark Thread : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry731946 All my cores are working but I too have noticed during the benchmark that the cores usage was tottally unbalanced. Plz you can all participate to the bench so we can compare and see whats up with our setups.

OKi ! here you'll find a benchmark to download, look at firechild post. http://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-compu...w-mac-pros.html You can also see attachement Result:[/b][/u] I can run 16 tracks no prob. with 17 tracks is stable but It might stop the first time. from the18th and so on it runs out of processing power that's with the latency set at 256 My setup: leo4allv3- vanilla9.2.2 mobo: badaxe2 cpu:Q6600(quad) Fsb:1066HZ Ram: 2GB 800MHZ DDR2 Audio: Rme Fireface 400 According to Firechild listing I run as well as a Macbook Pro: its a Core2duo and I have a quad. How many can you run? Post your result here with your rig so we can all compare Hackintosh Vs Mac. I hope many people will participate so we get interesting results. Happy benchmarking Ps: geekbench 64bit score: 5403 EvanLogicMultiCoreBenchmark.logic.zip

Are you using leo4allv3 ? if yes look at this post. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry727792

  8. The Hackintosh: Delivered

My thought exactly! I don't know much about law but it make sense. On the other hand I beleive its possible that apple is revising its strategy. Microsoft has a much larger share of the market, and these events (insalymac and psystar) show the potential of osx becoming widely available on pcs. They could get a bigger share of the market. Some of you guys might even get a job since you've cracked it. So they could be waiting to see how well is psystar doing. Dell alone sells a lot more units than macs now imagine if those brands were packing osx for general public. I don't see it yet becoming a server platform standart but at least it can be taken on board by general public, especially since vista is a total flop. Buiding hardware doesn't come cheap they surely make more money out of the software just like microsoft did. So I woulds take it easy, Psystar is adventurous but they have the balls or maybe just enough knowledge to predict what could be the future of apple.
  9. I've installed the old one and it works now! very happy thanks !
  10. Hi there, First of all I would like to thank eddie11c for this fine release, great job here! Osx is getting every day easier to install and more compatible. Here's where I stand with this new release. I've installed the leo v3 on my system. Everything works just fine exepet for this. It boots ok but when it comes to restarting or shutting the system down I often get black screen with a bunch of text ending server shutdown. It won't shut completely or restart. I installed vanilla 9.2.2 kernel with ati x 2660 xt driver and apple mbios's default nektas any hint on how to solve this?... this release is really great for me since the lan works fully on my badaxe 2 now without a stretch. mb:badaxe 2 cpu:q6000 gpu:Ati 2600xt Leo4all v3 : vanilla kernel
