    Finally Wireless networking!

Hi everyone, Can't get the Airport icon to show up! I did use all the steps, and deleted the two cache files. My card is a Belkin Wireless G Plus Desktop card (F5D7001), version 1323. I would think that I have the 4318 chip like crick. My problem is I edited the Airport2.kext and I think that might have messed it up. Nevertheless I deleted the Airport2.kext before I delete the cache so it should be back to the standard file. My broadcom.kext in the IO802....kext currently has the following lines: <string>pci14e4,4320</string> <string>pci14e4,4318</string> I deleted the two cache files and I repaired permissions. My question what do I need to do in terminal once I overwrite IO8...kext? I can sudo kextload the BRCM.kext but the Airport2.kext always fails and says that a supperclass has been changed and to run kextload with -t for diagnostics...when i type kextload -t and the path of airport2.kext nothing happens though! Thanks rp

Using Darwin Airport Driver With Osx86 10.4.1

opened new thread for 10.4.6 and 10.4.5 so that we can keep this thread 10.4.1! http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=18597 Get the same error as well! I have a Belkin Wireless G Plus Desktop Card (F5D7001) with Broadcom 4306 (at least from what I read in this thread)...and I copied the Airport2.kext from a different thread...and I used the two sudo commands which were supposed to be done once the file was replaced in the extensions folder...restart and still no effect...can someone with the F5D7001 please tell me which Airport2.kext to get and what commands to use. Thanks a bunch in advance and please answer in the above linked thread!
  3. Hi, Two Dell 24 Flatpanels connected with DVI wires to a 7900gt give me two exact mirror images on the screens. Now all I need is that the screens are one workspace, so that one shows something else then the other... Who can help me with that. Thanks! PS: There is no Quartz E. or Core support, is there?

[HowTo] Building my first OSx86 box...

hi, disconnected the dvd drive. now it says when booting up: Intel Boot Agent GE trying to establish link... and after a while the prompt says: no boot media found...the floppy disk is on...but never makes a sound...so i think its not being accessed at all... the formating i tried was with novell linux, since i thought id use a final version of an os first to see if it works and than start playing with os x...

[HowTo] Building my first OSx86 box...

Hi, played with the bios! AND the linux setup finds the harddrive now! I changed IDE Modus to Legacy from Enhanced... when trying to format the drive it just stops at 100% and shows the spinning cursor. I have a floppy drive in the computer now, plus i used intels tool to create a boot bios disk with 1788 on it. thing is i cant change the bios to boot of the floppy disk...it just stays at cd/dvd...even though i go in the menu and change it... a) why do you think is the hdd formating and than freezing at the very end i think it might be, because of my 1452 bios version...what bios setting do i need to have besides "legacy" and "sata as ide"? rp

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...38&submit=Go%21 what do you think of the iso with the 3592 update? that would be nice, if i wouldn't have to install a floppy. do i need to have linux installed before i put the disk in though...it says its bootable...so it would just boot of the cd right? thing is i think i have to install the 1788 update first, since my bios version is 1451...so yeah i have to put in a floppy drive... this is stupid

Alright, tried to install Novell Linux Desktop. Same thing, no harddrive found. Im beginning to wonder if there is a bios setting, which i need to change. I booted with knoppix linux on a live dvd and it showed a harddrive but refused to mount it. One thing I have not updated the bios of the board, since i didnt install a floppy drive yet...is that the problem or is my hdd broken (maybe because of the two power cables i stupidly plugged in)

all right mate, this is funky stuff...its in sata 0 and i have only the sata power wire connected...in the bios it shows up as harddrive under sata 0...and sata is set to ide...BUT it doesnt show up on the install for mac osx or disc utillity... now one thing which i thought was odd, is that the primary master is the dvd drive and than there is no primary slave...i can change anything in the bios there though!? doesnt the hdd need to be the primary master, or what could it be? since the hdd is showing up fine in the bios... cheers rp im kinda tempted to boot a linux install, just to see if that shows the hdd

thanks, those two red cables which came with the board if you look on their tag (its on the right cable in the picture ) that says molex wire. so i have that on the harddrive plus regular power wire and then the cable which is the sata cable. so three wires total, is that one too much?which spot on the motherboard did you plug the red wire in. i have it in sata 0 right now out of the four possible plugs. regards rp

[HowTo] Building my first OSx86 box...

Hi bofors, all parts arrived!!! I put everything in and connected everything. The heat sink fan plastic screws where a little hard to get in, besides that everything went great. Now when I turn the pc on the blue front led is on and i can see the green ethernet light (in the back of the pc case) flash for a tiny second. When I press the start button the harddrive and dvd drive start up, the big fan which was on the back of the motherboard turns on...but im not seeing anything on the screen!?!?i think it might be because the ram is not in the right slot...i have CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) System Memory.. and i have no clue if they need to go into dimm0 or 1 and channel a and b or both. Maybe you can tell me what you think it is... and where to put the two ram sticks. i have a a loose sound wire from the front, but i guess that just has to be like that+you wrote that you had the same issue...I could post a picture, but maybe you can tell me "BLIND" which connection is still missing or wrong

Thanks... PS: bofors when is 10.4.4 running on your machine?
