  1. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

Hi there, Here is macOS Sierra Install used: Install macOS Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia Use same setting as El Captain with latest CLOVER and kexts from @tluck for T420 - Not working: Audio, Bluetooth to be continued ...
  2. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

I updated post #1. You can find whole packages in download link. I have a bad news, NVDA work well now except built in screen gone black and need detect display in display pref pane as before. Problem back after I updated OSX to latest 10.10.1 as system notify. May be need to switch between Windows several time to solve this problem
  3. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

I'm using latest BIOS version 2.66 and it is UEFI version yet a long time ago. Problem with NVIDIA gone after change some BIOS settings. I have change back it to use Both UEFI & Legacy boot with UEFI first, it was UEFI only. It was problem with Optimus also. I'm using Windows 10.10, I was changed to Optimus and boot into Windows but it got problem with DisplayPort (Windows report that driver got problem and it can not load, I can't even open NVIDIA Settings in this time) . After I change Boot setting it was ok. I have changed back to Discrete graphic and boot into Yosemite and it work very nice with Thinkpad LCD wake up + External with no problem. I'm using NVIDIA web driver 10.1.43 (343.01.02b02). Do you know where to get updated CUDA? as CUDA is reporting update is required. Additional problem come with Audio which I'm using injection & patch on the fly by CLOVER. I have to clear and rebuild kextcache and it back. Oh a strange thing, look like Apple leave some Russian words inside AppleHDA, see screenshot
  4. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

After playing with nvram then restored by clear nvram, restore BIOS to defaults I can not make NVIDIA work again. It show error message: unable to shadow vbios I have solve it by change the NVCAP value but it still can not get any monitor wake up (Thinkpad LCD and external monitor via mini DisplayPort => HDMI => DVI as my Dell monitor have only 2 ports: DVI and VGA), look like problem with display-cfg. Anyway has a solution for this?
  5. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

I have work to get some more native kext work well with Yosemite 10.10.1, here is quick update (I will add an update package soon) I have Bluetooth working natively by create an additional node in Info.plist of built in Broadcom plugin inside IOBluetoothFamily.kext Patch AppleHDA on the fly for native AppeHDA. Working but funny thing appeared, the input and output device displayed in Russian, don't known why Intel Capri HD 4000 work well with QE/CI by using old patch method. NVIDIA still got problems: Thinkpad LCD screen not wake up (need to detect display in Display preference pane) but external Dell screen via mini Displayport work. Playing with nvram is dangerous, without EmuVariableUefi-64.efi, UEFI BIOS show error message: "Non-Volatile variable storage is about full" and must to press F1 to go to BIOS setting then F10 to save and restart, then error message disappeared in that boot time but show again next time reboot / power up. Solution for it is restore EmuVariableUefi-64.efi and run this command to clear / reset nvram `nvram -c` then reboot. I think problem is come with CLOVER as error message only show when I put CLOVER on the top of boot device list.
  6. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

I'm using VoodooHDA and it work fine. Download it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/voodoohda/
  7. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

Just to notify that I updated #1 post if you are not aware about it.
  8. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

I have re-apply some new patches from Rehabman and get mixed up many patch for Battery, Sleep / Shutdown ... stuffs from tluck, some section need to specified patch caused it not work like T420. I was keep VID in last DSDT but was changed all to IGPU for apply patches from Rehab repo. For HD4000, it is fine with last patch (with binary patch also), but now I'm using Nvidia most of time as it is only way to make miniDP work well (with Dell external monitor) I will attach my new package soon, included 10.9.x and 10.10. Same DSDT can be used for both OS X versions. Oh, forgot to mention that since I not used Intel HD4000 so I was not intent to fix QE/CI for it atm. I will rework on it after Apple release the final version (in this month).

    You should follow this guide http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2945-guide-for-enabling-vga-and-hdmi-in-intel-hd4000-gpu/ My hex is writing in form of vim + xxd, it is default to 1 word (4 digits) per column. The `0300 6601` is platform id and `01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 02 00 00` is for LDVS (Laptop built-in display). Depend on version of OSX, you can try: `01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 02 00 00` or `05 03 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 02 00 00`.

I have sleep work well. As RehabMan said, you will need to patch ACPI Power management kext and make sure the DSDT section for it is patched also. The sleep start working since I upgrade to 10.9.3. It was something changed from Apple core / kernel.
  11. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

@Demonbane 1. I'm using UEFI with GPT partitions. 2. I'm using the USB wifi dongle, as eilatuno said, USB wifi dongle will be use an extra application to scan and authenticate wifi network, it is annoying as you will need to start it up when login and wait for it ready before connect to wifi network, and yes, it is recognized as a wired network (ethernet) in network setting / system. So it you will not able to use AirDrop without force enable it before. I have not used express card yet, but I think it will be better than USB dongle option.
  12. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

@Sheep_Reaper: I think it is better to make another thread for T430 caused T420 and W520 are good threads for modern Thinkpads but they are a bit old and have some different hardware with T430 need another solution to solve it such as: NVIDIA card, Intel HD 4000, Bluetooth... I have research across all related threads and forum to make T430 work well with latest release of the Mavericks. Based on your reply, I think it is better to put all related links to OP to make it easy to reach and solve people issues (common issues).
  13. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

Good job @eilatuno It is long time I have not boot into OS X as I am quite busy and most of time I'm working on Linux environment. Just back and took an upgrade to OS X 10.9.3 and it work well. I'm updating new report to #1 to keep topic clean and easy to find information.
  14. Thinkpad T430 - Mavericks 10.9.x - Yosemite 10.10

I have same problem with the NVIDIA backlight control, the baclight slider and sun OSC icon show and response to Fn-K / Fn-P but the backlight not change. Tried many way but not success. There are 2 things you may interesting: It is reflect with NVIDIA's pwm-info parameter, I tried to remove and the backlight slider / sun OSC gone, tried with W520 but same problem, I think it can be calculate / export from video rom file. You may try something in T420 topic

Can you boot with single user safe mode? Did you repair the permission for kexts you copied from my attachment? if not, you can boot up with the install USB/DVD and repair it use this command: chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/OSXROOT/System/Library/Extensions chmod -R 755 /Volumes/OSXROOT/System/Library/Extensions kextcache -u /Volumes/OSXROOT/ replace OSXROOT with your mounted installed OSX volume
