    ASUS P5E 10.7.3

Title pretty much says it all. I'm having problems installing a myhack 3.1 usb of 10.7.3. It locks up EVERY time with 5 minutes remaining on the install. And the only thing I can attribute to it is maybe a bad bios setting? Same usb install thumb drive works fine on my Asus P6T... Asus P5E DSDT fixes

A little off topic, but can you guys help with my P5E 10.7.3 install? I'm trying to use MyHack 3.0 Maybe I have a bios setting wrong somewhere...? Do CPU alias's need to be in a dsdt for a Q9450 or something? It seems like I'm getting a cpu panic but not sure. I had 10.6.6 working fine with a modified DSDT which is attached. Looks like I have one error? Do I need an smbios.plist?
  4. I can confirm that MM does not work after coming back from sleep with Targus ACB10US. BUT it works on my Windows 7 laptop when it comes back from sleep; wth? I even added Vendor & Product ID's to my plist in 10.6.2
  5. So... I got my retail 10.5.6 dvd installed. Got through step F in the tutorial, tried to reboot and get a blinking cursor like there's no boot loader and I'm 99% sure I followed the tutorial correctly. I don't know what else to do besides performing Seppuku on myself I started chat rooms in irc.insanelymac.com #LGA1366 and irc.osx86.hu #LGA1366 if anybody wants to go in there and help out... I'm 'taq' in there.
  6. How did you get Chameleon to work? I've been able to boot -x and just went through the EFI partition guide here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=127330 problem is my machine/terminal lock up, so I can't do all of the commands at once :/ Is there an easier way to install with Chameleon? I know there's some options in the Chameleon 2.0 setup that I've never messed with Update: Ugh, my terminal work didn't work and can't even get in with -x now I'm looking at the Custom Install settings on Chameleon 2.0 There's this option available "Chameleon EFI HFS - Install Chameleon to EFI System partition HFS (reformatted)" I'm assuming this would work somehow? Would I just do Phase 1 on the EFI tutorial, or not even need to do that, and pick this setting....?
  7. So... I've gotten to Section D-Note 3. I got the "do you own a mac" loop. Rebooted with -s append did this: /sbin/mount -uw / passwd root type a password you choose here touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone reboot After reboot enter with the root account and setup your user account. Don't use the root account! rebooted with this rd(0,1)/mach_kernel.voodoo busratio=20 -legacy -v -f disk0s2 and I'm stuck here... I'm not really sure what this means... "After reboot enter with the root account and setup your user account. Don't use the root account!" did I mess up by trying to reboot with this "rd(0,1)/mach_kernel.voodoo busratio=20 -legacy -v -f disk0s2"? Any ideas?
  8. What version of retail DVD's are you guys having success with? I've tried "images" of retail 10.5.4 dvd and 10.5.6 dvd to no avail. both 10.5.4 and 10.5.6 images install perfectly on my P5E/Q9450 machine I've followed MJ's latest instructions (as of 5/5/09) to the tee, and no luck. I did however get iDeneb 1.3 fully working with HT and all 4 cores, I just couldn't upgrade it to 10.5.6 with DSDT.aml patch nor with IntelCPUMdisabler.kext The farthest I've gotten is with my 10.5.4 "retail" dvd. It gets all the way to the end of the installation and then this error (see pic) . I selected that boot drive with the Startup Disk Utility just after this error and it still won't get to the installation setup pages after rebooting with boot 132 iso... I'm running a P6T Deluxe V2 i7-920 Corsair Dominator 1600 6gb 9800GT 512mb Was also wondering why we can't use a boot 132 iso that has the extensions and kernel already implemented so we don't have to type rd(0,1)/mach_kernel.voodoo busratio=20 -v -f rd=disk1s3 etc... I mean I've memorized that line by now after trying to install 92029391483048340 times already, but it's still a pain in the butt. with my P5E/Q9450 system, I just boot up with my boot 132 iso CD install 10.5.4 or 10.5.6 dvd reboot with 132, finish install restore extensions from boot 132 image install chameleon and voila... with my P6T, should I be trying 10.5.0 or 10.5.1 dvd's instead of 10.5.4 or 10.5.6? any help would be greatly appreciated! keep up the good work guys

OSx on Intel i7 Asus P6T system

did you change any bios setting to get ideneb 1.4 to load? are you running all cpu cores? I got ideneb 1.3 to load on my p6t deluxe v2 but not 1.4
  10. I basically did the same thing. Drug all my .kext's from an OXS86 Tools extension backup to the SlimbuildGUI (Just .kext's no folders or anything else, there were a bunch), didn't add a kernel nor plist. It says optional, so I'm assuming it's not mandatory. And burnt the ISO. Then same thing happened to me when I tried to boot it. "Press F8 or any key Than a message System Config /library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist not found" I'm currently running JAS Server 10.5.4 (without server), I think 9.4.0 Vanilla kernel. Asus P5E X38 Intel Quad Core Q9650 Any help would be appreciated.
  11. It has to do with those bios settings, because if I leave those settings ^^^^ to default it boots. In an overclocking forum somebody suggested to disable all of those as a general rule of thumb. When I disable all of them, it goes into the bootloader, tries to boot, flashes some code for a split second, then reboots.... I can run all of those disabled with the default 9.2.0 kernel, but not the kalyway 9.3 vanilla update kernel, nor vanilla 9.4
  12. I changed some settings in my bios, and it's back running overclocked... I think it had something to do with these settings? CPU Spread Spectrum PCIE Spread Spectrum C1E Suppport CPU TM Function Vanderpool Technology Execute Disable Bit Max CPUID Value Limit Anybody know what those do for the most part? Should they be enabled or disabled? Back running at 3.41ghz quad core, 4x1gb Corsair ddr2 1066 running at 850mhz but overclocked North Bridge voltage to 1.45 to boost memory back up. (I should have gotten the matching 2x2gb 1066 chips instead of the 2 pairs....) Seems stable.
  13. I know this, but the same settings "in the bios" that I used to overclock in 10.5.2 won't let me even boot up. I had to go back to my default bios settings to get 10.5.4 to boot. Somehow since I switched over to vanilla kernel, my overclocking settings in my bios won't let even get into the darwin bootloader screen.
  14. I was wondering if it's possible to overclock my Q9450 running 10.5.4? I was running Leo4all V3 with the default 9.2.0 kernel and was overclocking fine. I upgraded to the Kalyway 10.5.3 combo update, and installed the Kalyway vanilla kernel 9.3.0 or 9.3.3 (can't remember which one it was exactly, there's only one vanilla option in the Kalyway kernel update). Then I web updated to 10.5.4 But now I can't overclock the CPU. Does anybody have any ideas? Intel Q9450 Core 2 Quad Core 2.66 Asus P5e X38 intel chipset Corsair DDR2 1066 memory 4GB
