  1. Funny, Mavericks was quite stable for me and I still use it to run certain programs.
  2. Is your ethernet connection en0 or en1? If en1 you need to change it.
  3. What motherboards are working with Sierra?

Just wanted to thank every one for the suggestions.
  4. My signature should have all of my equipment info. Everything has been running fine up until 10.12.4. Booting with Clover and yes the AppleRTC.kext has been patched.
  5. Lousy way of handling your reply.
  6. Best choice SMBIOS

I have a Gigabyte socket 775 that works just fine. But you have to change the profile (I use a brand new iMac) and bop opt under that to get things sorted. To be fair I did buy a Xeon processor for this thing. After install i Changed everything back to a MacPro3,1 BUT you have to change the PlatformSupport.plist to an older version that supports that model.
  7. I used a X3370 Yorkfield @ 3.0 GHz years ago and its been rock solid with not as single problem.
  8. El Capitan on GA-Z170X-Gaming 5

Would this install procedure work on the GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra or GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 boards? I just wanted to check before I invested in a new system.
  9. Which ones were the easiest to install on and why?
  10. [pre-releases] macOS Sierra

Any issues? I tried to install it and now it hangs up half way through the boot process. Boot in verbose mode, gets through that and then the white apple/black background and nothing.
  11. Working USB Sierra Install Boot Drive?

SUCCESS! I got it by rebooting to my normal hard drive and then just running the installer off the desktop onto a blank drive. Reboot and let the install finish. Before that I had to change my profile in Clover to an iMac10,1 for the install though and before I changed it back to a MacPro3,1 I had to edit and add my board ID and Model type to the PlatformSupport.plist file inside of System/Library/CoreServices and it seems to be running fine.
  12. Working USB Sierra Install Boot Drive?

It is, I put a Yorkfield Xeon processor in it which does have the SSE4,1 instruction set.
  13. Short answer is to reboot with the USB installer and then install Clover on the drive you installed 10.11 on. Thats why it won't boot.
  14. So does that mean that a Xeon X3370 Yorkfield 3.0 Ghz Quad core chip might work with Sierra? I have an old EP45C Gigabyte motherboard.
