  1. My audio was working fine. I actually had mic input working with this installation of 10.5.2, whereas 10.5.1 only the output worked. Well, I was talking on Skype and I tried to use my webcam, it launched then froze, then the mic input stopped working. Then every time I tried to make a call with Skype, it would crash and close. After all this, only speakers would work. So I attempted to use one of the installers I found on here for ALC883, the skippysretarded one... well that broke my audio completely and now nothing works at all. I tried the turunulagahagaag one and it's corrupted and doesn't work. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?? I need my audio back!! ------ EDIT: huh, the very next thread I read had a real fix for it.... lol http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=819329
  2. Got it repaired, thanks for the reminder! Everything's backed up now (well, files anyway) and I guess it's time to get the latest install.. I was running 10.5.1 for too long!
  3. Well yeah it is a pain in the butt reinstalling.. but I'm more concerned with getting XP to read that hdd so I can at least back up my files before starting from scratch again.. But yeah, I definitely need to back up my next installation so if anything goes wrong I can restore it using that. Should've done that from the get go... yer right.
  4. Thanks for the tip on the dvd repair.. I'll give it a shot. I only have an external USB drive, since the mobo I got is a piece of {censored} and doesn't let me use more than 1 IDE device, and OS X doesn't see IDE drives anyway. Hopefully, I'll at least be able to repair the disk so I can mount it in XP and get my files backed up before I give reinstalling Leopard a whirl.
  5. I need help, big time. I was in the process of updating iTunes to the latest version so I could use my new iPhone, and the damn OS popped up a window saying there were new updates to be installed, restart? I figured it was iTunes, so I agreed.. since that's what I was installing! But no.... every update available was stuck in that 'install and restart' button and now it won't boot at all. What's worse, I tried deleting everything that was in the Updates folder in System folder, from the PC side where I could access the disk using Macdrive, but now I can't even access the drive at all! XP gives me an error saying the drive is corrupt... so I can't even back up my files now. Anyone, please.. if there's any hope of recovering anything, please let me know. This is the 3rd catastrophe I've experienced in the last little while... can't bear to lose much more.
  6. I have a Sapphire Radeon 2600 Pro, installed the driver.. shows up fine in Profiler, BUT Games look like {censored}! I can't get anything higher than 800x600, and there's ZERO anti-aliasing. Anyone else having problems with games? The display itself looks fine, 720p movies seem to play fine (though that could just be the CPU/ram), so I'm wondering does this driver actually enable full capabilities of the card?
