Intel HD3000 x220 strange display question.

Which edid? Dummy or FHD? And where? In Clover? solved. I had to change the last character of my edid from A to B.

I’m trying to get the fhd mod running with macos since a long time, tried a lot of things, still don’t have a solution. It seems to be a problem with the graphic card driver. If you disable the acceleration (change device ID in clover from 0x0000 to 0x12345678), the display works.

How can I do this? Or where could I look to learn more about the buffer patch? thanks!

My screens are 1920x1080 so DualLink should be one, I think. John from mcdonnelltech told me that other users of the fhd-mod had similar issues. The problem was that the DVI port of the dock connector ist being reassigned by the Clover bootloader. Is it possible to Patch Framebuffer Levels but don’t replace 4th port with VGA?

hello tluck, sorry for the late response, I tried a lot of things (Changed the color profiles, EDID is RGB only and correct, different Clover Versions, el capitan/Sierra) but nothing really helped, the strange colors stay the same. With disabled acceleration (0x12345678) everything looks fine. Here are the bdmesg logs: https://pastebin.com/7xkzsHfd (with 0x12345678) https://pastebin.com/ChwwhAMd

It did not help for me. Is the DualLink setting only of importance for the internal display? The fhd display is recognized as a external Display. (on the dock display port 1) I had to to deactivate the "Replace 4th port with VGA" patch to get some image.

Hello, I’m having a similar problem with a full-hd display mod in a x220. (see also here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/307414-intel-hd3000-x220-strange-display-question/) My display EDID is: 00FFFFFFFFFFFF0030E48A040000000000170104951C1078024BB59B5B548E251E505400000001010101010101010101010101010101143780C270381F403C2E3500149C1000001B00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000002000C33FF0F3C961C0F2496000000002A Macos recognizes the EDID correctly, but shows these weird colors. Here is a picture: http://imgur.com/a/jsads In Bios, Clover and Windows it works perfect, the colors show up when the loading bar is finished. When I change device ID from 0x0000 to 0x12345678 it works also. Injectiing jenyunhunangs EDID did not help, black screen. Reading trough this thread, I wonder if it could be some retiming Problem? How was the retimed EDID for the 1600x1200 displays calculated?

Intel HD3000 x220 strange display question.

hello everybody, sorry for bringing this super old thing up again, but I am having the exact same problem. It seems there are not many people running a x220 fhd with macos. Has someone here experience with that? I’m using the nitrocaster kit and the mcdonnelltech.com instruction with a custom config.plist which does not reassign the dvi port of the dock connector. The display (LG LP125WF2-SPB4) is recognized by the system (10.11.6), but with the very wrong colors like the ones described above. The mod/display works well in Windows. Edid is correctly recognized by macos. Any directions where I could investigate further? thanks
