    Driver for nForce4 LAN

Encountered once when the other PC in my room access the router at the same time
  4. Finally got it to work using MacOSX_10.4.4DVDPATCHED_Myz.iso. Seems everything is well except for Network, Sound and the GFX card. I'm using the MSI SLI Platinum mobo. Let's tackle one by one. I know sound wouldn't work, left now network and GFX card. I only have time to play with the nvidiakext DLed from macvidia. I followed the step by step instructions but to no avail. Questions 1) Do I copy the nvidia kext that I DLed to the Mac OS desktop? 2) I tried typing # vi /System/Library/Extensions/NVidia.kext/Contents/Info.plist (use nano if you don't want to/can't use vi) # look for the line with IOPCIMatch but I can't find the IOPCIMatch 3) The OS is very laggy. Is it because of the GFX Drivers? Let's tackle the network card tomorrow. Thanks all!

  6. Just wanted to verify if the onboard ALC850 has any issues w/ input(mic) and output. Thanks all
  7. Hi all x86 mac gurus, The following is my current configuration and would like your comments on the least cost approach to run mac os x w/ sound + network. Here's my configuration 1) AMD 3000+ SSE2 s939 2) MSI SLI Platinum ( http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mai...ail.php?UID=641 ) 3) Maxtor SATA 300gb => to partition 10gb for OS X 4) Logitech Wireless Keyboard + Mouse (both USB ) 5) nvidia 6600gt I'm thinking of getting an MSI neo4 board since wiki said that K8N-NEO4 Platinium MSI Sound output (onboard realtek ALC850) works (inputs seem have latency), no SATA on the nforce4 chipset. USB and MArvell LAN ports are OK pre-patched 10.4.5 DVD Few queries 1) any issues w/ the onboard sound? does it still have surround? 2) I have an ipod nano. Any issues? Would like to move to Intel Duo Core + i945 board but I think it's a little bit costlier? Thanks all for replies.
  8. Is there any boards that conforms 100% to intel specs and at the same thing provide overclock options?

    Comment on my current hardware

I read quite a bit and it seems like SATA , the soundcard & NIC are NOT supported. Hence, I need to purchase 1) a PATA HDD 2) an M-audio revo soundcard 3) a compatible NIC? ( is it working?) I didnt't really want to build another PC just to install mac os x If I'm using the 6600gt, anything that I will miss? So far I think I use my PC to listen to music, watching movies( xvid/dvix ), surfing and some torrenting. Comments pls. Thanks a bunch
  11. Hi guys, Would like to know the chances of these to work? 1) USB 2) Firewire 3) Network ( will the mobo built-in NIC works?) 4) Sound ( will the built in SB Live work? ) Here's my configuration 1) AMD 3000+ SSE2 s939 2) MSI SLI Platinum ( http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mai...ail.php?UID=641 ) 3) Audidy ZS 4) NEC 3500 DVD Burner 5) Maxtor SATA 300gb => to partition 10gb for OS X 6) Nvidia 6600GT PCI-e 7) Logitech Wireless Keyboard + Mouse I was wondering what is the best possible step to Install Mac OS X.
