  3. At a later point, 2 months ago, RehabMan Commented "I have it working. The problem was initialization was not happening correctly in the Synaptics case. Now I plan to review the refactoring and see if I can improve it, but first I will commit this branch for you to test... just to make sure I didn't break anything on the ALPS side." and bpedman built with the merged code and looks like it is working. here few comments. "I just built this and sent it out for some people to test." "OK, so one person has responded so far and noted that the merged driver is working for them." Hope they resolve all major issues and soon we get to see a fully functional Alps Touchpad
  4. The download link is for the version V1.10 by RehabMan, Slice and Andy Vandijck. Updated the earlier post aswell. There is a bdepman_merge branch tree which is periodically synced with master tree of RehabMans VoodooPS2controller, and the last sync was with the version 1.8.8 which was done somewhere in October. https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/network Here is the download link for RehabMan VoodoPS2Controller from GoogleCode. https://code.google.com/p/os-x-voodoo-ps2-controller/downloads/list. However, I guess the Rehabmans VoodooPS2Controller.kext at Google code download is NOT from bdepman-merge branch. Source tree branches. 1)Master: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller 2) bdepman-merge https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/tree/bpedman_merge Edit: Out of Curiosity, I tried the VoodooPS2Contoller v1.8.8 from the Google code download link . s-mbp:~ sudoadmin$ kextstat |grep PS2 30 2 0xffffff7f80c01000 0xe000 0xe000 org.rehabman.voodoo.driver.PS2Controller (1.8.8) <10 7 5 4 3 1> 55 0 0xffffff7f80c24000 0x5000 0x5000 org.rehabman.voodoo.driver.PS2Keyboard (1.8.8) <32 30 7 6 5 4 3 1> 56 0 0xffffff7f80c0f000 0xb000 0xb000 org.rehabman.voodoo.driver.PS2Trackpad (1.8.8) <32 30 7 6 5 4 3 1> The VoodooPS2Controller.kext driver loads fine. Keyboard works. The mouse pointer just moves around the 4 corners, if we use the touchpad. So it looks like it is still in the initial development stage or its NOT the binary/driver built out of bedmpan-merge branch.
  5. Ofcourse. Looks like Synaptics code and Alps Linux code is being modified by bdepman to make it work with Alps on OS X. Still work under progress. https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/pull/2 and another effort of VoodooPS2Controller V1.10 for Alps Touchpad by RehabMan, Slice and Andy Vandijck. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/49-voodoopscontroller-modified-version/ Edited: Download link for VoodooPS2Controller V1.10 for Alps Touchpad by RehabMan, Slice and Andy Vandijck.
  6. In-built Ricoh SDHC MMC/SD card on Dell XPS M1530 works on Mavericks 10.9. 7. Any plans for implementing gestures, taps and scroll on Alps touchpad?.
  8. Thanks for the quick response. I had all my kexts earlier in /S/L/E. The reason I tried SQeek way of distributing kexts was because, my PS2controller was not getting loaded. Now it loads in /Extra/Extensions, maybe a timing issue. Regarding the Audio, I am using VoodooHDA version 2.8.4. However it is not loading automatically either in /S/L/E or in /Extra/Extensions. Manual load of VoodooHDA works absolutely fine. Users-MacBook-Pro:Extensions sudoadmin$ sudo kextload VoodooHDA.kext Password: Also AppleHDA is not getting loaded. Users-MacBook-Pro:Extensions sudoadmin$ kextstat | grep HDA 118 0 0xffffff7f822e4000 0x21000 0x21000 org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA (2.8.4) <117 11 7 5 4 3> List of Voodoo kexts. Users-MacBook-Pro:Extensions sudoadmin$ kextstat | grep oodoo 29 0 0xffffff7f82202000 0xa000 0xa000 org.voodoo.driver.PS2Controller (1.1.0) <10 7 5 4 3 1> 52 0 0xffffff7f82261000 0x4000 0x4000 org.voodoo.driver.PS2Keyboard (1.1.0) <32 5 4 3> 53 0 0xffffff7f82265000 0xd000 0xd000 org.voodoo.driver.PS2Trackpad (1.1.0) <32 5 4 3> 118 0 0xffffff7f822e4000 0x21000 0x21000 org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA (2.8.4) <117 11 7 5 4 3> Users-MacBook-Pro:Extensions sudoadmin$ Also Reboot and Shutdown hang no-longer occurs, after regenerating the kextcache again using kext-wizard. . Strange, if I fix permissions using Diskutility the problem of hang reoccurs.
  9. Hi SQeek, DarwinX First of al thanks for your Kexts. I am on Mavericks now. I am booting OSX 10.9 GM (13A603) from a MBR partitioned 250GB usb external drive on a Dell XPS M1530,4GB. Bootloader Chameleon version is 2.2svn r2266. I tried @SQeeks AppleACPIPlatform.kext along with Extra zip files and /etc/rc.local. The /S/L/E kexts are from @DarwinX's 10.2013 and are placed in /S/L/E. Also, I have removed those kexts from /S/L/E which are in /Extra/Extensions. Sleep works fine. However, Shutdown and reboot just hangs after closing all the apps.. any ideas ? What works: Battery Indicator works fine. trackpad and Mouse works fine. I haven't checked Bluetooth, HDMI, VGA out Whats Not: No Audio. VoodooHDA does not work. I have AppleHDAdisabler.kext in /S/L/E. Shutdown and reboot Hangs Am I missing something?

I assume you have rebuild the kextcache using kextutility. What kexts do you have in /E/E ? Which DSDT are you using? Few people had issues with hibernation with the USB mouse/keyboard connected.

Seagate 500GB HDD should work fine. Most of the WD HDD are now 4k sector drives. The newer HDD greater than 500GB are 4k sector drives. You will see that error because windows expects, a unique 32bit signature 0xAA55h after 440bytes of the first sector(0-512bytes) (sometimes called the MBR's Magic number). If you overwrite this 4 bytes, windows will not boot. Go through the following link for more info on what windows expects on the first sector of the disk. Just need to be cautious while writing Chameleon boot0 (512bytes) into MBR. http://thestarman.pcministry.com/asm/mbr/W7MBR.htm#CHS Cause: The default fdisk overwrites this MBR magic number. Windows does not find this magic number and hence cannot boot into windows. Fix: Use Chameleon fdisk440 instead of standard OSX fdisk and boot0hfs instead of boot0. sudo ./fdisk440 -f boot0hfs -u -y /dev/rdisk0 Afterwards, change the active partition to windows partition. Boot through windows media (CD/DVD) and restore windows. Once it is done, change the active partition back to OSX using diskpart.

Is the new disk a 4K sector disk ?. If yes, then Chameleon has problems booting on 4k sector harddrives. This issue is currently being worked on. Please see the bug for more info. http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/issues/129/ Workarounds: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/...63.html#msg9763 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1740914

The error you got says that the dependencies checking script has an error. This could be due to incomplete download, disk corruption etc. Check the update package checksum of 10.6.8 to ensure it is not corrupted. If the checksum is not correct, you may have to download it again and try. The correct checksum of update combo 10.6.8 v1.1 from the apple download center is SHA1 = 86704547455d25af5f42bd30086ea625d071aea5

My ISPs dynamic host IP address was blocked by www.insanelymac.com for more than 12 hours after daily IPS database resync. Basically I was not able access the forums without login. The login was failing and access was denied. Finally I had to use google translate proxy to login to insanelymac.com. Anyone faced this issue?
