    Enabling sleep on GA-P35-DS3P

I've extracted a clean DSDT with ioreg from console, from my installer partition, since my main system cannot boot without a dsdt neither in single user mode (still waiting for root device) and I've applied the patch you gave me, it applied fine without rejects, attached you can see the dsdt that it generated, usb ports are seen as integrated, lpc and smbus are in their places, however I'm still getting the dead system problem on stop, usb/disks/monitor off, fans on and i have to force shutdown keeping power button pressed or reset. Maybe the problem is caused by something else ? parameters in the chameleon plist ? lacks of kexts ? Thank you, Giacomo. DSDT.aml.zip
  3. Hello everyone, I recently updated my 10.7 system to 10.7.5 willing to clean it from "aggressive" kexts and to have a fully working sleep. I've worked on the DSDT to make the USB/FW ports internal using the IDs from ICH10 and it works, i've added SMbus patches found on the internet, patch to powerbutton to have the shutdown menu displayed when I press the power button, however the behaviour on sleep request is very poor, I can see disks, usb and monitor going to sleep however the system remains on, the fans are on and I have no way to resume it, only way is to reboot. I'm attaching some info you may need to help me, ioreg output, lspci output, kexts in sle, kextstat output, dsdt, chameleon plist, smbios plist. mobo info.zip

    P5K-SE: getting it to work.

Update: After running without AppleVIAATA and installing Leopard from SATA ich9 dvd i got on Leo and i wanted to see my PATA discs but putting back AppleVIAATA will result in using it for the ICH9 controller, plus it doesnt have Marvell ids; so i made these changes to it: I removed ICH9 SATA controller device id from AppleVIAATA.kext/Info.plist, which is: (lspci -n) 00:1f.5 0101: 8086:2926 (rev 02) 0x29268086 in Info.plist and i added Marvell device id: (lspci -n ) 02:00.0 0101: 11ab:6121 (rev b2) 0x612111ab in Info.plist Cheers!

    P5K-SE: getting it to work.

SOLVED Problem solved; my CPU was defective; compiz on linux was freezing the machine and prime95 on windows gave errors after few seconds of run.... P5K-SE works, just remove AppleVIAATA and use DuNe's AppleIntelPIIX

    P5K-SE: getting it to work.

I tried both modifying an hard disk with osx86 installed; deleting AppleVIAATA and installing DuNe's AppleIntelPIIX but it hangs as described before. I tried with an IDE DVD drive too, using integrated Marvell controller but no way, same problem; i would like to hear someone who is running OSX86 on a P5K-SE...because it is reported in the HCL but actually i know my case and another with the same problems. Cheers

    P5K-SE: getting it to work.

Hello, thank you for your interest in my problem; unfortunately Asus P5K-SE doesnt have AHCI option; it lets me configure ide as Compatible or Enhanced, and for the setting "Configure SATA as:" i have only IDE.

    P5K-SE: getting it to work.

I really appreciate your guide; but my problem besides before patching; i'm not even able to boot from the DVD, it just hangs, it may be a bios setting problem, see my first post. Thank you, Giacomo.

  10. Hi DuNe, thank you for your prompt reply, it are days that i'm trying over tons of kexts and bios settings; so let me show you my config so maybe you can give me some help. The problem is that both, an hard disk with kalyway installed and the kalyway CD hang after saying BSD Root: /dev/disk0s2 I installed kalyway on that hard disk with vanilla kernel only; from a GA-P35-DS3P and was working nicely, but it broken, waiting for RMA; i also tried your updated ioata kext. cheers, Deffie. Motherboard: P5K-SE Processor: E8400 Ram: 2/4gb (Tried both) DVD/HDD: both SATA, HDD on port 1 Bios settings: Sata configuration: Enhanced Configure SATA as IDE USB Configuration: USB Functions: Enabled USB 2.0 Controller: Enabled Bios EHCI Hand-Off: Disabled (tried both) Port 64/60: Disabled Legacy USB: Disabled (tried both) CPU Configuration: CPU Ratio Setting: AUTO C1E Support: Enabled Max CPUID Value Limit: Disabled Vanderpool Technology: Enabled CPU TM function: Enabled Execute disable bit: Enabled Intel SpeedStep: Disabled North Bridge Chipset Configuration: Memory Remap Feature: Disabled Initiate Graphic Adapter: PEG/PCI PEG Port Control: AUTO PEG Port Force x1: Disabled Onboard Device Configuration: High Definition Audio: Enabled Front Panel Type: AC97 Marvell IDE Controller: Disabled Onboard PCIE GbE LAN: Enabled LAN Option ROM: Disabled Serial Port 1 Address: Disabled Plug and play O/S: NO Power: Suspend Mode: S3 Only Report Video on S3 Resume: Disabled ACPI Version: Enabled ACPI Apic: Enabled APM: all Disabled Boot: Quick boot: Disabled Full Screen Logo: Disabled AddOn ROM Display Mode: Force BIOS Bootup Num-Lock: On Wait for F1 if Error: Enabled Hit DEL Message Display: Enabled Interrupt 19 Capture: Disabled.
  11. Hi all, i tried this driver on a P5K-SE, on an existing drive with kalyway installed, removing the original kext, but the system hangs after "Got boot device" like with the kalyway. On the bios i've set sata as enhanced and compatible but no way; i'm even unable to go ahead with the kalyway dvd it just hangs, i have a sata dvd. Cheers
