  1. I tried the Boot 132 iso listed here and on that thread and neither let me get past the space desktop. The one listed here tells me to restart on the white apple screen and the first one on the original Boot 132 thread get to space screen but stays there with the ball icon spinning. I'm using bios 2704 now. I'm using the bios settings listed here...

    2 Issues

My system runs great but I have 2 small issues that I was wondering if anyone could help me out with. First is that Terminal gives this error when I try to use it: And second is my System Profile no longer displays properly. I don't know when this started not working because it did earlier. I don't know if the 10.5.4 update did it or not. The About Mac shows the wrong cpu speed, etc. Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to resolve this issues on this install because other than these problems, the system works perfectly. Specs below, vanilla kernel, latest I believe.
  3. Although not surprising, it is terrible nonetheless they are selling it on ebay. I think it's only a matter of time like you said before push comes to shove from Apple. They've tolerated the OSX86 community until now, but if these {censored} companies keep popping up exploiting the project's work and also people on ebay selling the software, game over.
  4. What are the advantages of using that over what I have now? Everything works on my system expect for wake can be iffy sometimes so I don't let my system sleep.
  5. Here are pictures of my Bios, which is 2602 by the way. BIOSsettings.zip
  6. Used Software Update to get to 10.5.4. I had a Vanilla Kernel and was running 10.5.3. Everything works great.
  7. I backed up and then did a complete clean reinstall of Kalyway 10.5.2 then the Combo update mentioned about in my post. Had fix the sound once again but now everything, even Time Machine works great.
  8. I did a clean install of 10.5.2 then used a update package to get to 10.5.3. I had 3 problems afterword: orange hdd icons, lost gfx hardware CI and QE, and Time Machine no longer works. I suggest using this package: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 Everything else worked out of box and now restart, shutdown, and sleep (wake works occasionally) work great. Specs below
  9. The wiki has good list of compatible motherboards depending on which version of OS X you want to run. The Asus p5w dh mobo is one of the most compatible boards for running Leopard. I'm running 10.5.3 with everything working except Time Machine which will be fix someday I hope, but it's not a big worry.

    TimeMachine fails backup

Has anyone had experience getting Time Machine to stop failing in 10.5.3?
  11. I just tried using TM under 10.5.3 to a Firewire external hdd and when it tries to backup it says Failed cannot find drive. I'll be looking around for solutions. Not a big deal.
  12. I had success updating to 10.5.3 today. But it would have been much smoother if I didn't use the Kalyway combo update. It's not that it doesn't for our motherboard, it's just that it reverts the hard drive icons back to the orange external ones and disables the graphics card support for Core Image and Quartz Extreme. I fixed these issues by downloading the latest version of NVinstaller (v. 52) and the using another combo updater package to fix the icons. That combo update is featured in this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 It's kind of a pain to download but worth it because it packs more support in. BUT beware that I did not install 10.5.3 using this updater package as mention above. But if I was to do it again I would. Best of luck using either.
  13. Thanks for you post. Just wondering what BIOS you are running? I restored QE and CI but the orange hard drive icon fix didn't work. Also you may want to post your finding in the P5W hardware thread. EDIT: I ended up using the combo installer found in the link thread. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 Everything on my build was working so all I did to fix my hard drive icon issue was to just select the finalize option in the installer. Restarted and they were fixed. I wish I would have found that combo update installer first, but oh well.
  14. Thanks to everyone that had a hand in diagnosing and solving the problem with information and the software presented in this thread. The osx86 community never ceases to amaze me.
