    Leopard Install hangs

Did you try and boot the machine with only one HDD? At least the one you want to install Leo on? Did you try disableing all hardware you don't use at startup? Please don't be impatient when you want an answer. We all want answers

    Leopard Install hangs

What motherboard / PC do you have? Do you have your harddisks on a foreign SATA controller?

    installed kalaway then ?

Hi, The EFI is simulated. This is a sort of BIOS for the Mac. I think vanilla is the original kernel from Mac OS, I've read it somewhere on this forum (I think even wikipedia has an article about this) From wikipedia.com Here are some third party drivers: [qoute]http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/3rdPartyDrivers[/qoute] Maybe your soundcard is available here. If you try to install software, it will give an error if it won't work. Good luck.

    Leopard Install hangs

I had the same problem with the two cores. I disabled it in the BIOS, but I don't know what computer you have. I think there is something like the cpus=1 option at startup.

    Leopard Install hangs

Try to disable multi-cores (if you have any) and boot up with the -v option. If it still hangs, please post the outcome.
  6. I had the same problem, but I've disabled one core of my T2300 processor, started with the "vanilla -v" kernel, chose English language and continued. Just wanted to share. Good luck.

    Whick PowerPC do I have?

Thank you all for your response. It looks like the Yikes! But that doesn't explain the memory issue, because according to this site, http://lowendmac.com/ppc/g4.shtml, it is should be upgradeble to 1gb. Could there be any chance that I have to upgrade the Open Firmware? Or isn't this upgradeble?
  9. Hi, I want to know whick PowerPC I have. These are my specs from "About this Mac": Computername: Power Mac G3 (PCI-video) Computermodel: PowerMac1,2 Processortype: PowerPC G4 (2.6) Number of processors: 1 Processorspeed: 350Mhz L2-cache: 1Mb Memory: 384Mb Busspeed: 100Mhz Bootromversion: 1.1.2f2 If you want to know anything else, please let me know. The reason I want to know this, is because I've placed 4 banks of 128mb memory. In bank 1 and 2 the 128mb is recognized, but in bank 3 and 4 only 64mb is recognized. How is this possible? What's the maximum amount of memory I can feed this Mac? Does anyone know if there's an EFI-update for this Mac? Thank you for any response.

    JaS 10.4.7 - SMB pb

I didn't work for me too. I have some more "complaints": 10.4.7 JaS constantly says that I haven't got enough rights to, for example empty the bin and stuff.
  13. It's normaly auto-mounted. Maybe it's in the console mounted under /media?
