    dual booting issue

I tried EasyBCD, but it did not help. I was able to add an entry to Vista's bootloader, but the machine would still not boot past "verifying dmi pool data". I did some more searching and tried Acronis's OS selector. Before I booted, on a whim I went through my BIOS settings again and saw that my hdd boot priority was in completely the wrong order, it was looking first to a drive with no OS on it to boot. Now I am thinking this is probably why it was sticking. Anyway, Acronis works, so I'm good. Thanks.

gforce 5500 no QE CI not supported HELP!

How are you trying to install the kexts? You need to use kext helper or something like that, if you just drop them into the extensions folder it won't work.

    dual booting issue

Ok, so here is my situation. I am running a dual boot system with Vista on an IDE drive and OS X on a SATA drive. The board considers the IDE channels 0 and 1 and the SATA channels 2 and 3. The machine used to automatically boot the Vista partition and if I wanted the OS X partition I would hit f12 during the BIOS loading and select that drive to boot from. It worked fine for me although I would have rather it defaulted to OS X and Vista were the wicked stepchild but whatever. Recently I had to reinstall Vista and ever since the machine doesn't boot a default AT ALL. If I leave it alone at boot it will simply hang at "verifying dmi pool data." The BIOS boot selector still works fine so I can boot into Vista or OS X, but I am thinking I would rather have the whole thing setup to give me a choice at boot and to default to OS X. PS, when I select my OS X SATA drive, chameleon 1.0.12 shows up just fine and offers me a choice between the two different partitions of that SATA drive (NTFS and HFS+, the NTFS is for storage and has no OS). I would like to install some sort of bootloader that would load at boot by default, and give me a choice between OS X and Vista. What should I do?

    M-Audio AudioPhile 2496, pci soundcard

I have my Audiophile 2496 working perfectly on 10.5.6 with the Envy24 drivers. I wish I could tell you some procedure to make it work but I just selected it on install.

Got QE and CI on 8500GT running (10.5.6)

FINALLY WORKING!!!! OK so after trying endless combinations and reinstalls, etc., I was finally rewarded by seeing my menubar popup translucent, and I confirmed in system profiler that yes, QE/CI are enabled. So for posterity, here is what it took: Hardware: Gigabyte M61PME-S2 Chipset nforce 430 (MCP61 ethernet) onboard sound and video DISABLED Zotac PCIe nVidia 8500gt 512MB Acer x223w LCD monitor (widescreen) DVI input M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI 100GB HFS+ partition on a 1TB SATA drive OSX86: iPC 10.5.6 Final Optional installs: Kernel: Voodoo 9.5.0 Chipset: AppleNforceATA Video: NVinject 512MB Audio: Envy24 Ethernet: nForceLAN Fixes: Seatbelt, SMBIOSEFI Bootup after install with this combination gave me a desktop at the correct native resolution 1680x1050, with all options showing up in the desktop screen, no QE/CI support. I then used the Universal Installer to install OSX86 essentials kexts, and added EFI string for my card. Then, before reboot, I opened up the info.plist for the NVinject.kext in my Extensions folder and added my device ID. Then I rebooted and BOOM.

Got QE and CI on 8500GT running (10.5.6)

UPDATE: Did a fresh install with the same specs as above and used pcwiz Universal Installer to add EFI...Got black screen when attempting to rebbot...booted into single user mode and removed all nvidia kexts to get back in...system profiler still lists the EFI string, but no qe/ci and limited to the one 1680x1050x32@60hz resolution(set up in Universal Installer). I am wondering if I need to add the NVCAP somwhere? Also, since I am using AMD should I use the CPUs=1 fix and could that have something to do with the video card issue? Also, installed Envy24 package to use my Audiophile 2496...working perfectly..

Got QE and CI on 8500GT running (10.5.6)

OK, I've been trying to get my Geforce 8500GT to work with 10.5.6 iPC: Gigabyte M61PME-S2 AMD Athlon 64 x2 4850e 3GB RAM Geforce 8500GT 512MB Chipset: Nforce 430 Built-in Video and Audio disabled Voodoo 9.5.0 AppleNForceATA nforceLAN drivers (working) That's pretty much it. I'm able to boot into Leopard, ethernet is working, but the video card is not recognized. I am not really sure how to proceed. I have tried the method listed above, I've tried NVInject and NVdarwin. I have seen people mention adding device id's into the info.plist of the kexts, but I have no idea where to enter it within that file. The device ID in System Profiler is 0x0421, but I don't see in the info.plist where to put it. I don't even know if it will work, but I'm willing to try whatever.
