  1. [TOTALLY VANILLA] Retail Snow Leopard

Okay I am having some serious problems now ( I keep getting kp's on startup: pmap_remove range empty hash... Plus it keeps resetting my bios which means I have to set it to AHCI every time before I start. Please help!!! I can't boot up with -v -f -x -s either. I can boot into the SL disc partition I have so am going to restore my macloader partition to the leopard version so I can boot into leopard again.
  2. [TOTALLY VANILLA] Retail Snow Leopard

Once again, your tutorial was awesome!! One problem: I can boot to my snow leopard partition but not to the mac loader one. The macloader one panics with npvhash=4095 PAE enabled 64 bit mode enabled however, by boot.plist in macloader has kernel flag -x32 so I am not sure what is goin on here.. Any ideas?? Thanks!
  3. User folders on another drive

Hmm, that didn't work for me in the end what I did was go rm /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone in single user mode and then leopard allowed me to create a new admin account and then I could fix everything up again from that account.
  4. I just installed a new 1.5tb drive in my computer and now I would like to move my user data over to this drive as my 500gb drive with leopard 10.5.8 is running out of space. I found that to do this one needs to right click on the user and then change the location in System Prefs->Accounts. I pointed to the new user folder with the cloned data on the new drive. Then I restarted. When I booted up again, leopard had created a folder in Volumes with the name of the Data volume that I had moved my user data to so now there was a new user folder in the Volumes folder so that when I go into my User folder in leopard I am pointed to the folder in Volumes, not the folder on the Data volume. Now the Data volume was mounted as "Data 1". Now I tried changing it to point to Data 1 but now I can't log in "Logging into the account failed because an error occurred"... Any ideas how I get this working like I intend?
  5. New Chameleon Announced!

    Sweet! Can't wait for this.
  6. Sorry for asking stupid questions, it just looked like everyone had different answers. Thanks for helping the noob anyways! I will order the laptop without wireless N I guess. Does anyone know of a tablet that works better as a hackintosh? They all seem to have problems that are hard to fix..
  7. I am looking at buying the TX2510CA I want to ascertain: How is the performance (usable?) Wireless network card working? Ethernet working? Can I calibrate the tablet (not so important since I will be using WinXP for taking notes)? What distro do people use (I don't care what version of Leopard, as long it is 10.5.2 or greater.. Hopefully Apple will release a tablet at MacWorld 09 (I pray)
  8. 10.5.6 Image mounting

Phewph, thanks nintenno, I used the kernel from 10.5.5 and it works fine now.
  9. 10.5.6 Image mounting

I am having problems with mounting images on 10.5.6. I am running vanilla kernel with macloader (EFI v9). So far I have tried replacing seatbelt.kext with the 10.5.5 version and replacing System.kext with the 10.5.5 version. With both replaced I can mount some dmgs (Crossover Pro 7.1.0) but I get a kernel panic when I mount others (GoogleNotifier dmg). Anything else I can do? My hackintosh is pretty much unusable until I fix this..
  10. help with boot132 and grub?

MacLoader doesn't seem to work perfectly with grub yet unfortunately -you have to hit enter a few times once you set it up properly. All you have to do is make sure macloader partition is set to active then the partition you set in grub is always 1 it seems like (the hidden fat partition that is part of guid drives). That worked for me. Then you try in grub to boot osx and start and it says something about rebooting, just hit enter, then you see the Darwin prompt, just hit enter a few more times and osx will start. Not perfect but at least it works!
  11. I made my own Boot-132 iso and am able to boot the retail cd now after changing my bios settings from RAID to ACPI.. Now my Vista doesn't start though until I switch back to RAID mode! How do I install Mac OSX in RAID mode (my Kalyway 10.5.2 works fine in RAID mode...). You guys are awesome - thanks!
  12. I have been using Kalyway for many months on my PC but am trying to switch to boot-132. When I boot my leopard CD in boot-132 (the regular ISO for noobs) (-v -x) I get an error Waiting for root device. I assume this means that the installer cannot communicated with the controller. What do I do to fix this? I have Vista + Mac OSX (10.5.2 Kalyway) + Ubuntu right now! Can I use some kext from my old kalyway install or something? Thanks!
  13. Hi guys, I just bought a DWA-130 wireless card to connect my desktop to my wireless network. It works great on Windows but I cannot seem to get it to work on my Mac. Can anyone help me in making a driver? I have Ubuntu and Windows Vista also.
  14. New 9.2.2 ToH kernel

My Ipod does not connect to Itunes with this kernel..
  15. Kalyway PS/2 Keyboard problems

so in the end, I just switched to a ps/2 mouse and keyboard, but now, often when I use OSX, the mouse and keyboard totally freeze up and I have to hard reboot. Any ideas??
