  1. G5 to ATX Front I/O Cables

    Thanks!!
  2. G5 to ATX Front I/O Cables

Hi AlohaCab I purchased a cable from you last year and I bought a new motherboard that does not have a firewire port and since I do not have it plugged in, it will not power on. What kind of firewire card do I need to get? The cards taht I see online do not have a place to plug your cable into. Would you be able to post a link to a card that you recommend? Thanks for your help.
  3. G5 to ATX Front I/O Cables

Hi AlohaCab, Received the cable and it works great, except for one thing, the front audio doesn't work, everything else is fine. Is there a way to fix it or do I need a different cable? In this thread, on post #1799954, someone posted about not having front sound on a Gigabyte board and different hole wiring. My board is Intel DQ965GF. The excerpt from that post below: “I also found a G5 mod on a blog by celso martinho http://arrifana.org/...osh-2/#comments who made his own front panel cable. He experienced audio issues as well and when I noticed his plug, it looked different than Aloha's. Try and stay with me, I'm describing this in layman's terms. The plug that fits into the motherboard for audio has cables at holes 2,5,9 and 10. Celso's cable has 2,5,9 but a cable running from 7 TO 10. I ordered some wires/connectors from polulu and was able to make this connection myself. I removed the #10 female cable and replaced it with 2 females ( 7 to 10), installed it and then did the kext modification and BOOM! I now have audio". Has anyone else had an issue with no front audio? Thanks for any help you can give.
  4. For Installing the Softwareupdate 10.6.2 I first messed things up so I'm not really shure if it works but in generall i have done this: Backup Your /Extra and /Library/Extenisons Folder Download 10.6.2 Combo Update from Apple Install Combo update but DON'T restart Then reinstall your backed up Kexts and replace in /Library/Extensions the files contained in this Package http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4MDBCGL8 thanks to MacDude (for Graphic nvidia 7XXX to Work) And replace in /Extra the new NullCPU...kext from Netkas then run Cont's Script via Terminal to do this (after every Line Enter ;-)): open Terminal sudo -s your password cd /Volumes/yourharddrivenameinstead ./pfix /Volumes/yourharddrivenameinstead restart If you get KernelPanic do this at Empire EFI boot: press any key and then -x32 and Enter Then Run Cont's pfix Script again and Repair Permissions with Disk Utility. Does anyone have the kext files for the 10.6.2 update? Since megaupload is down, i cannot get these files. Thanks for your help
  5. P8P67 LE no luck

I already have a P8P67 LE set up with Win7. If I were to follow these directions, could I just install OSX on another drive and have it dual boot or will I have to re-install Windows? Can my Windows drive be plugged into one of the 6gb/s ports? I haven't seen any good instructions on dual booting for this mobo so any help would be appreciated.
  6. I have a Dell Mini 10v that is dual booting Win 7 and SL. I would like to know which partition is Win7 and which is SL but since I made both partitions the same size, I can't tell. This is what I see Partition 4 - Primary - Size = 19 KB, Offset = 512 B Partition 1 - Primary - Size = 200 MB, Offset = 20 KB Partition 2 - Primary - Size = 116 GB, Offset = 200 MB Partition 3 - Primary - Size = 116 GB, Offset = 116 GB Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. I followed the guide from this post. Credit to tryharder for an easy to follow guide. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...amp;mode=linear I used all of the default settings in MyHack. Once you can boot 10.6, make a back up of your Extra folder and run software update. After you reboot, replace the extra folder (make sure sleepenabler.kext is deleted from extra/extensions folder) , run pfix, repair permissions and reboot. Everything should be ok. If you get a panic, boot in safe mode using your boot cd, run pfix and repair permissions again.
  8. I don't have a DSDT file. I used Empire EFI and MyHack with a Retail DVD. I'm not using sleep so I don't know for sure and I have BIOS version 3001.
  9. I updated to 10.6.5 using software update. So far no problems. Make sure you back up your extra and library/extensions folders just in case. My reboots were a little slow after the update but once I replaced those folders and repaired permissions, it is better.
  10. That worked. Thanks! I have a new problem though. After I fixed the sleepenabler problem, I installed a new Q8300 Quad core cpu. I have the latest BIOS and the bios sees the new cpu but I got another panic when I booted. I put a new HDD in and started a fresh install. I attached a pic of the new message I get. I got this panic after I loaded the SL install disc. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks again
  11. I did the 10.6.3 combo update from the apple website and I was able to reboot with no problems. I used Software Update for 10.6.4 and get a Kernel Panic. I attached a pic of the error. I replaced the VoodooHDA kext and the Sleepenabler kext from the ones in the posts above but that didn't work. I don't know how to configure the dsdt so I haven't been able to try that. Can someone please help? Thanks Asus P5WDH Deluxe Intel e6300 4gb RAM 500GB WD HDD SATA DVD-RW Sparkle GeForce9500GT
  12. I haven't been able to get my system to use USB 2.0. I have read many posts on this and most people suggest to delete AppleHPET and everything is fine. Whenever I delete/alter/move the AppleHPET file, my system will either not boot or it will take a long time. (more than 20 minutes.) When I leave the HPET untouched, it boots in 30-45 seconds. Is there something else I need to do to get USB 2.0? Thanks for your help. Asus p5wDH Deluxe Intel e6320 WD 500gb SATA SATA DVD-RW 4gb ram Sparkle GEForce9500GT
  13. p5w dh slow usb speeds

Does deleting the hpet affect your startup time? My machine will take about 45-50 seconds to boot but when I delete the Hpet, it takes about 5 minutes to boot. Has anyone been able to find a way to fix that?
  14. I installed SL on my Intel DQ965GF using Empire EFI and MyHack installation. I upgraded to 10.6.2 and everything works well except for shutdown. If I have anything plugged into the usb ports besides the mouse/keyboard, it will restart by itself. If nothing is plugged in, it shutsdown right away. I tried openHaltRestart but that doesnt seem to work. Any ideas? Intel DQ965GF 500GB SATA HD SATA DVD-RW 4GB DDR2 RAM GeForce 8600GT
  15. I installed Snow Leopard using Empire EFI and updated to 10.6.2. Everything works great except for my USB. Sometimes my USB will show as 2.0 and sometimes it is 1.0. When I tried to boot in 64 bit, my desktop freezes and I have to wait about 5 minutes or so before I can do anything. If I delete AppleHPET, my start up time is really slow. Normally it takes about a minute to boot up but when I deleted HPET, it takes closer to 5 minutes. I attached 2 startup logs below. 1 is with USB 2.0 and the other was from a boot a few minutes later and I got USB 1.0. Both startups were the same, I just hit the power button and let it boot. No options were chosen. Can someone please take a look at these? Thanks Edit: I noticed the difference between logs is here: USBF: 9.134 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80063a8000]: unable to get filterInterruptEventSource USBF: 9.134 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80063a8000]::UIMInitialize - Error occurred (0xe00002be) USBF: 9.136 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80063a8000]::start unable to initialize UIM USBF: 9.363 AppleUSBUHCI[0xffffff8025b55000]::start unable to initialize UIM USBF: 14.368 AppleUSBUHCI[0xffffff8025af0000]::start unable to initialize UIM Why would this only happen on some boots and not all of them?
