  1. Motion Computing Tablet PC LE1700

I have OS 10.4.11 running on my Motion LE1700. Everything works (ncluding the digitizer with TabletMagic pref pane), except the built-in speakers. Audio out (headphones) works as well as USB audio, so no big deal. I'd like to install a more current version of OSX but haven't got the courage yet to mess with this setup since it's working smoothly. Any ideas of the best way to install (or preferably upgrade - longshot, I know) to Leopard or Snow Leopard?
  2. Toshiba Built-in Bluetooth Working!

Does this enable bluetooth internally? I have a bluetooth usb dongle that is recognized on my Motion le1700 (not a Toshiba), but I'd like to free that port up without using a usb hub. Any ideas? thanks
  3. Lexicon U42S

I just purchased a Lexicon U42S to run with Cubase 4 LE and Logic 8 and I've installed the drivers but cannot get my system OS86x 10.4.11 to recognize it. Any help?
  4. Excellent guide! I'm now dual-booting a Motion LE1700 Intel machine with Windows XP Tablet Edition on one partition, Mac OS 10.4.8 on the other partition! Awesome! Thank you.
  5. Please send me a link to download My BootCD for OSx86 10.4.8.
  6. ATI Radeon HD pkg installers 10.5.x & 10.6

I have not yet purchased the laptop with the ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 HD, so I have no ability to test. I'm currently running OS 10.4.11 on a Motion LE1700 slate tablet but would like to upgrade to a tablet with dedicated graphics card.
  7. ATI Radeon HD pkg installers 10.5.x & 10.6

When the Tiger installers are updated, will there be a driver for the ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 HD under OS 10.4.11?
  8. I'm running OS 10.4.8 on a Motion LE1700 and the headphone stereo out has worked since install. Has there been progress in getting sound out of the internal speakers and sound in? Using the SigmaTel STAC9221 card. Another problem seems to be sending MIDI out through a USB MIDI interface. The interface software installed properly, and it is recognized in the "Audio MIDI Setup", but no MIDI signal is apparent.
  9. system crashes

I'm running OS 10.4.8 on a Motion LE1700 1.5 Ghz tablet and keep running into the same problem with AppleHDAPatcher - it crashes when I drop the dump I thought was the appropriate one (STAC9221D.txt found at http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/sigmatel/.) From posting on the forums I surmised that the machine uses the SigmaTel STAC9221 audio driver. Given the specs on my computer and OS, which version of HDAPatcher should I be using and where can I find the proper codec dump to drop onto the patcher? I have no previous experience so I don't know how to make a dump myself. Thank you.
  10. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm most interested in dual booting - writing to the NTFS partition in OS X is not my primary goal. I've been trying to wrap my feeble mind around Grub but don't quite get the varied instructions. Do i install grub on the Tiger partition (the only booting partition now)? I continue to come across vocabulary that is beyond my grasp. What is a 'kernal flag'? In what program do I make changes to 'Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist'. As you can surmise, my knowledge is limited - any explicit help is appreciated.
  11. I just upgraded the hard drive on my Motion LE 1700 tablet from 30 gig to 80 gig. I cloned Windows XP from the smaller drive to a 60 gig NTFS partition and kept the remainder a FAT 32 partition so that I could install Tiger on it. Tiger installed perfectly and boots quickly, but now the Windows partition only shows up on my Mac desktop as a read only disk and is no longer a bootable partition (it booted from the XP partition before I installed Tiger). What did I do wrong? Is there a way to get the Bios to recognize both partitions as separate boot drives? I'd sure like to get this working with the drive partitioned as it is, because the Mac OS is surprisingly fast on the partition that it resides. Only problem is, I can only write to essentially 25% of the total storage capacity.
  12. Problems with notebook speakers?

    I'm running 10.4.8, distribution JaS SSE2 and SSE3
  13. Triple Booting

I just installed Mac OS 10.4.8 on a partition on the internal drive of my Motion LE1700 and now the Windows XP Tablet partition is not bootable. The Windows partition shows up as a read only volume on my Mac desktop, but the internal hard drive does not show partition options in the BIOS. In short, I now only have a Mac bootable PC. I was hoping to make this a dual bootable machine. What did I do wrong? Windows booted before I installed the Mac OS, and I only reformatted the Mac partition when installing the Mac OS. Is there a way to get my computer to recognize both partitions as bootable?
  14. Problems with notebook speakers?

Yes, my system version is 10.4.8. Whenever Apple Update updates the system it is no longer bootable, so I've disabled 'Updater' and am sticking with 10.4.8. I am really such a newbie that I'm tentative about making a codec dump myself.
  15. Problems with notebook speakers?

Okay, got my computer back up and running. I have downloaded ApplePatcher 1.20 but don't know how to download the 'dump' at http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/sigmatel/ Everytime I save the text and drag that file onto the AppleHDAPatcher icon it asks for my password and after I enter it the system crashes. Am I supposed to enter the text in Terminal first? Once again, I'm a total newbie. What kind of file do I drag to the icon. The dumps all seem to be text files. Thanks.
