Grazie a tutti

OSx installation without another osx available?

How couldn't I think of it! With "virtual box" you mean a virtual machine running under win, right? Very helpful, thanks p.s.: in case of failure, which boot cd would yuo advice for my plain P5K?
  6. Hi everybody, this summer my beloved Hackintosh Leopard (retail install) left me because the system hard disk on which it was installed suddenly died. Now I'm wondering how can I made a new retail installation of a new OSx on another hard disk from my pc: what about Lion or Snow Leopard? could I succeed in it in any way without having another OSx? thanks guys
  7. Hi there, I have this wonderful portable pc, and going to set a new partition for dual booting Vista/Leopard: which Leo installer would you suggest? On wiki I could only find iPc 10.5.6, but no tests were made on audio, ethernet and so on: I never used iPc, what can you tell me about it? where can I find its installation guide? do you think it's the better choice? tnx

    P5K-SE - Retail Leopard Instalation

    No way Jimmy, I still can't get the external hard disk on my desktop while the System profiler recognizes it (it's a LaCie d2 quadra v.2) My com.apple.boot.plist now is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EHCIacquire</key> <string>n</string> <key>UHCIreset</key> <string>n</string> <key>GUI</key> <string>n</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>None</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>ab02000001000000020000003f0000000100000002010c00d041030a0000000001010600001e0 101060000017fff0400160000006200750069006c0074002d0069006e000000050000000160020000 0d00000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000010101060000007fff04000e0000004e0056005 0004d0000002000000001000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000220000 005600520041004d002c0074006f00740061006c00730069007a006500000008000000000000201c0 000006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e 740e0000006e0061006d00650000000b000000646973706c617922000000400030002c00640065007 6006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c617922000000400031002c00 6400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c6179100000006d0 06f00640065006c0000001a0000006e5669646961204765466f726365203838303020475420000000 400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d6 16314000000400030002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d4114 000000400031002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d422000000 0400030002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d 6163100000004e00560043004100500000001800000004000000000003000c0000000000000700000 0001e00000072006f006d002d007200650076006900730069006f006e0000002e0000006e56696469 61204765466f7263652038383030204754204f70656e474c20456e67696e65205b4546495d</string> </dict> </plist> I also tried to add your lines between kernel flags and device-properties, because I thought to misread your previous post, but no differences again...

    P5K-SE - Retail Leopard Instalation

I just tried, this is what I get when I read my com.apple.boot.plist: <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>None</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>ab02000001000000020000003f0000000100000002010c00d041030a0000000$ Should I add the lines you posted manually, or try installing something else? p.s.: the internet problem isn't fixed yet, I just got a kernel a panic
Ho installato kext inappropriati? O potrei averne dimenticato qualcuno? Potrò risolvere senza dover reinstallare tutto daccapo? Grazie mille!

Will FinalCut Studio 3 (2009) work on my hackintosh?

Tnx, I'll try in a while! I know your system is very different from mine, but did you encounter any problem with firewire ports? I can't read my brand new LaCie external hard disk, also if the System Profiler recognizes it

    P5K-SE - Retail Leopard Instalation

I think you're absolutely right, this kernel panic happens while I'm downloading from aMule too, and I discovered another problem with the ports: I never had my USB ports fully working, sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect the mouse, the keyboard or anything else... quite annoying, but bearable, as the System Preferences about keyboard that sometimes are lost... but today I bought a LaCIe hard disk I needed for video editing, and I couldn't read it neither through firewire nor e-SATA! The System Profiler recognizes the ports and the connected device properly, but I ca't access it on the Desktop nor the Disk Utility! Any idea about the bad kexts? I followed Jimmy's guidein detail about a year ago, when I first had a working Hackintosh... I updated to 10.5.8 last week, didn't I install the kext again? Do I really need to format and reinstall everything, or could you help me finding the wrong kexts with this list of problems? Tnx!
  13. Hi, I'm currently working on FinalCut 6.0.5 but need to update to 7 for matters of compatibility with my colleagues in a recent job, would you advice me to update? Any problem with the installation or any function of the program? I don't mean to lose in the change, or I'd better stay with the previous version! Thanks

I don't think so, and everything worked just great when I finally got my full working OsX a year ago... By last summer, I began being blocked while surfing the web sometimes, but now it happens everytime!

    P5K-SE - Retail Leopard Instalation

Hi everybody! I'm coming back with an annoying problem: almost everytime I'm surfing the web, either on Firefox or Safari, Apple finds me in someway and my pc is blocked with the typical message in all languages that forces to restart the machine... have you ever experienced that? Sorry if you discussed it already, I was away from the forum for so long and I didn't find a proper keyword to search.. thanks!
