  2. has anyone had issues with overclocking i7-6950x after the 10.13.4 update? I cant get mine to go over 4ghz
  3. Hi, I am trying to troubleshoot freezing issues im having with my rig. Mobo: Asus x99 Deluxe-II Cpu: 6950x Gpu: Aorus 1080 ti OS: 10.13.3 I have got everything implemented to where everything seems to function correctly, but when i do any type of rendering with adobe premier/media encoder or redcine-x. I lock up. here is the kicker i can run prime95 all night and i can run cinebench gpu test over and over again with no issues. I can even idle for days. Im really stuck and im not sure what to do. I am wondering if you maybe able to take a look at my rig. I have ran your runme.app and here is the results. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a5xuZP4YlL-zFCo8d-i1XlOxyyjM891K/view?usp=sharing Any help or advice would be awesome thanks!
  4. well i got to say i think i have a perfect running install on a p35 ds4. for those of you who ARE having trouble with usb or firewire here is the fix i found. Thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=95789 DL link: usb fix 1.3.mpkg = <a href="http://rapidshare.com/files/115617132/usb_fix_1.3.mpkg.zip" target="_blank">http://rapidshare.com/files/115617132/usb_fix_1.3.mpkg.zip</a> for me the 9.2.0 system.kext only that option WORKED!!! this was with the HDFIX.zip that makes ur internal drives read as internal instead of external. again please those who already had great luck look over this post i just know there is at least 2-3 people who are having similar problems as i and some may not want to post thier problems in fear of riticule. also thank you to all that helped and to the great guide pcwiz
  5. anyone here have a fully working ep35 ds4 including usb and firewire? been spending couple of days on this can cant seem to get he firewire working i got the usb with the cache fix. using netkas speedstep kernel. msi 8800 gt. using all 6 gsata ports ahci disk01=vista disk02=macosx with working parallels. lite on sata dvd rom 4gb ram q6600 @ 3.4ghz. as it is firewire is the only thing that wont work properly. is seen in system profile and in network settings but wont connect to anything. in verbose mode i get ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to to full-secure only thread that comes close is http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=95789 but the two deamon fixes still wont work
  6. sauria did u do anything other than the guide? such as hdfix, usb fix?
  7. yeah it shows up in my sys profile also but i cant get anything to mount. it seems to be similar to the usb problem and the caches.
  8. anyone here have trouble with p35 ds4 and its usb and firewire? i got the USB working with rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/caches rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext but i cant seem to get any of the firewire ports to mount?
  9. anyone with parallels or vmware fusion get stuck at "Boot from hard drive" or in vmware a "b0 error" ive flagged the windows partition and it still has same errors. i am also doing the darwin bootloader.
  10. would the 4 min long black screen im experiencing be caused by my graphics... i did nvinject v33... im doing a fresh install as i speak again following the guide to the T. btw i have the ep35-ds4 with q6600 and 4gb ram.
  11. anyone else experience after the kernels update that th boot isnt any faster? i still get the long wait at the black screen
  12. i followed the install as close as possible. i must have missed something i have installed the kernels.pkg and i still get the slow boot... the ahnging at the black screen? anyone else have this problem? it literally takes 2-3min. correction it takes 5 min 27 seconds im going to do a -v boot see whats hanging but it seems to be at the black screen talked about in the guide. i did a -v boot and i get timed out at appleusbhci this isnt what really takes up time. its the blck screen where i cant see what its doing that easily takes 4min the intial boot until the black screen is maybe 30 sec. anyone?
  13. i have xp already installed and is dual booting using darwin. when i try to get vmware to see it it says its not there but it will boot from a xp disc? any thoughts?
  14. i got the credit card out and ready to buy but im torn between the p5k-e wifi and the ep35 ds4. whats really torn me is the simple and seemingly easy guide by ~pcwiz (here) seems so simple and i cant find one equivilent for the p5k, does anyone know of one? i really like the p5k's capability of wifi and the esata ports, but this would be my first Happle (hackintosh), and i am looking for simplicity also. im not finding to much on the p5k but have friend who says its a pretty stable system an viking boy has a great thread. the p5k installation seems really involved and doesnt seem to be fully working yet? ~pcwiz's guide seems like it will work with the ep35-ds4 and seems simple even with a installer! also id like to keep away form ide and stay sata form beginning to end... arg... heres a list im looking at i would love to get it working and change this thread to be "The Simple yet Fast Hackintosh build for newbs." heres my equipment list so far MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce (seemed to be easy install yet powerful) mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) (mushkin has been reliable for me on my pc builds) Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz (PLANNED FOR Overclocking) FINNALLY **( ASUS P5K-E WiFi (Versus) GigaByte EP35-DS4)*** STAY TUNED
