  1. Help with Leo install

OK I need a working 10.5.8 box. Using the stuff I've researched in this forum I have a working Snow box it updates and everything. I have 9 kexts in my Extra and my bootloader is Chamelion 2 rc4. Seems to work ok no KP at all. I'm running it in 32 bit mode. Now when I try to make a Leopard box I can't get it to work with this setup with 10.5.8. It will work at 10.5.7 but not 8. If I put my EFI-X v1.1 it will boot up just fine. I really want to break away from the EFI-X. I used the dd 4.22 install method. I also have a early modified AsereBLN dsdt. I haven't figured out how to modify them yet. I spend all my time making music to learn that lmao!!!! Does anyone have this board and 10.5.8 working. If so Please help!!!!! Or at least point me in the right direction.
  2. Ok here's what happened. I've been working to get a good solid install method of Leopard on a Gigabyte x58-UD4P motherboard. Ok I finally stuck with doing a Retail instal with digital_dreamers 4.10 script. With the Chamelon bootloader with the kexts in the extra folder. So after getting the system up I started tweaking stuff. And ran the OSXTools app on the About This Mac screen and jacked up something here's how it looks now how can I fix this?????? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=59031
  3. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong. I have a Gigabyte x58-UD4P motherboard and I'm trying to load Leopard on it. Now the funny thing is I can get Snow to work. I have that install down like science. But I'm not able to get Leopard to work. I'm using Chameleon v2 rc3 as a bootloader. I have the UD4P kexts that are out there. Why not use snow you ask? Most of my music stuff isn't working in snow. The software loads but my audio interface isn't working so snow has to go. Is anyone running leopard with this motherboard? If so please point me in the right direction.
  4. OK I finally got it working here's what was happening in your instructions at the part of loading the kexts. Your guide says change a few of the listed kexts to the system folder. Well when I do that I get the spinning beachball on the Already own a mac screen. If I choose nothing and accept the defaults I don't get the problem and the setup goes great. Sound sleep restart shutdown. Now the onboard network doesn't work and I really don't care because I'm using a mac usb dongle. You asked what BIOS I had it's the one you recommended the beta version. Once the install worked I reformatted the whole drive and installed it 5 more times. Two times I changed the Kexts as suggested in your guide and It got stuck at the Already own a mac screen. Three times I accepted the defaults of the script and It was a fully working box. Go figure. I was able to do a Time Machine back. I loaded Logic and did a quick song without any problems !!!! I LOVE YOU MAN !!!!!! sniff sniff...........LOL
  5. OK here's where I'm at I did the install two ways when it's time to load the bootloader instead of selecting option #3PC_EFI I selected the Chamelon bootloader v2 rc3 after that everything installs and I get stuck at the Already Own a Mac Screen during the first login phase. Now If I make the selections in your script which seem to be out of order because when I select PC_EFI as my boot loader I never see the make partition option. Now when I get to the Already Own a Mac screen when I select continue It goes to the next screen and I finally get to the desk top Hooray. Once there I have no network or sound. WTF am I doing wrong LOL!!!!!!!!
  6. I followed your guide and everything worked perfectly execpt during my first login I get stuck at the Already Own a Mac screen Once I select Transfer settings later and click the continue button all I get is the spinning beach ball. Any clue why this is happening? Just one question I have a Nvidia card and it's a 9800gt with 1024mb ram I used your boot.plist file and didn't modify for my video card could that be the problem?
  7. How can I get my nvidia 9800gtx working

Thanks Shadow_2K I was able to figure out the problem. I had to reinstall Chamelon funny thing is I don't get the splash screen with the chamelon anymore. I just get the apple hard drive with the sliding scale that's doing the countdown. It's ok because my video is now working. Currently I'm using a mac usb ethernet for a network connection. I downloaded the Realtek 1000 driver but I have no clue how to install it. Any help with that would be great.
  8. How can I get my nvidia 9800gtx working

    I made the change to the string and it isn't working here's a copy of my com.apple.Boot.plist file maybe you can tell me something that's missing. Also i'm on the x58 motherboard the Gigabyte UD4P with a EVGA 9800 gtx. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>GUI</key> <string>y</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>dsdt=dsdt.aml -pci1</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Default</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> </dict> </plist>
  9. I just got Snow installed using a guide that has you booting from a usb drive. It's install but i have no working network card and my video is stuck at 1024x768. I'm using a nvidia 9800 gtx 1gb model. How can I get these working. Normally I have just used a distro disk this is my first real attempt.
  10. Ok I have Leo4Allv3 on a machine how can I get the apple screen to come up on boot instead of the writing? Also What happens if you insert a new processer. I have a core2 duo and I just bought a quad 6600 will I have to reinstall like you do with winxp?
  11. Startup Disk not showing

Ok before I get killed I'm a newbie to this OSX86 stuff. But I did manage to get Kalayway 10.5.1 + 10.5.2 combo update on a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R board. I have everything working But when I look in system preferences I don't see my startup drive listed. What I see is a drive with a question mark on it. I do the search and nothing comes back. I always see this on Macs is there any reason why I'm not seeing my boot drive listed there?
  12. ichat v4 Screen share and Video chat problems

No I'm doing this with Ethernet cable with a cat5e setup
  13. I have a Hackintosh built around the Kalyway 10.5.1 with EFI + ComboUpdate to 10.5.2. I can logon to iChat and do text chats anything further is a Bust anyone else having this problem. When trying to connect we get fail to respond messages. I checked all of the firewall stuff and everything is good there. I have a linksys router and so does my buddy. Now if I use Skype we can connect and do video chat. Anyone know how to get iChat to work. I'm a newbie so point me to the documentation and I can get it to work.
