  1. Lenovo S12 ion (NVIDIA) 10.6.6 GUDE

The solution for fixing this problem is the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext This kext is a must have if you want to have some stability in your hackintosh netbook. Try to install it again, with Kext Helper, repairing permissions etc. Keep trying, you are in the right way! PS: 10.6.6 is the most stable release for our lenovo´s s12 netbook. 10.6.8 works but with the new nvidia drivers, some glitches and less performance seems to be a not very convenient update.

  3. Lenovo S12 ion (NVIDIA) 10.6.6 GUDE

Hi dear friend! I am starting to flirt with a package builder... so maybe for 10.6.8 i can make a definitive LENOVO S12 ENABLER!! Of course lots of testings are necessary... and i am starting to get a little tired of reinstalling the system on every fail i made. One more thing (Steve we will miss you) Sleep is not working anymore with 10.6.8 at the moment... need to rewrite the sleep and lidsleep parts on the dsdt. For everyone... ill explain how to update to 10.6.8 on this same post very soon. And once ill finish to write the Enabler ill post a new thread with the definitive 10.6.8 guide from scratch. And that will be the end of my contrib fof this netbook. Regards Carlitosx

  5. Lenovo S12 ion (NVIDIA) 10.6.6 GUDE

Hi and welcome! Thank you for appreciate the effort! I am stucked now with some small tweaks for this netbook, like brightness controls and hdmi audio output. I have recently update my snow to 10.6.8 and for making it work propietly i had to install two new kexts, a new kernel and update the audio kext.... but i didn`t have any problem with the bluetooth. Anyway, if your package works better than the uploaded in my repository ill replace it with yours once i finish to write the new 10.6.8 guide. Thanks a lot for your help. One question... witch method did you use to install trackpad kexts? mine? or others? Sorry for my poor english... again. PS: Wifi works with the light turned off. Thats normal PS2: Lid sleep and sleep, they both works using last dsdt dev file. As this file is being modified every two days... and as it is programmed for 3gb config, i am uploading the 2gb version past a few months. Once i have fully tested the 3gb version. Any help is welcome!

Hi and welcome! First i must apologize about the delay on my replies... i have some extra work this weeks, so i am very very busy but i still have some time for replying! I still dont understand clearly in witch part are you stuck exactly. During the installation process? After installation? First boot? Please be more specific, and ill help you as far as i can. Did you follow the guide steps one by one? Please let me know Regards Carlitox PS: This installation guide works for sure on the netbook hard disk. Not tested on external drives.

  8. Lenovo S12 ion (NVIDIA) 10.6.6 GUDE

Hello and welcome! New fix just published today fixes the system instability while hard disks heavy loads like... cloning hard drives, installing long apps, extracting rar files. etc. etc. Sleep and lidsleep works, with the lastest dsdt version without issue. Bluetooth can be disabled using the bradcombluetooth kext as shown in the guide. The kext for wired network is inside the LenovoS12 repository zip file attached to the guide. The file name is BCM5722D.kext and is located into the Network/Wlan folder. Install using kexthelper as usual. I know that the guide should be cleaned up, and the files should be repackaged. I promise, ill do it once i have some free time for doing it! Also we are looking for someone with the knowloge for doing an enabler with all this stuff. Thank you for posting

New SDL MAME Tutorial for playing classic arcade games on your Netbook/Laptop Hackintosh http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=264043
  10. How to play MAME Games on your Hackintosh Laptop or Netbook First of all, please accept my apologies cause my English level is very very poor. I hope you can understand every step clearly, if you have any doubt please feel free to post. Why my favorite mame emulator for mac wont work with my Hackintosh? Easy, real MacBooks uses a USB based keyboard and the emulator doesn't work with ps2 keyboards. So… you can open the emulator, open games but keyboard isn't recognized, basically you cant play!. One very stupid solution is simply plug a USB keyboard to your netbook… but is not very comfortable. (AT ALL) MY SOLUTION: SDL MAME Download the SDL 1.2 framework from here (MacOs Version) http://www.libsdl.org/download-1.2.php Copy SDL.Framework to the /System/Library/Frameworks folder Download SDLMAME for mac from here http://sdlmame.lngn.net/ and extract it somewhere Then download mametunes from here http://macapps.sakura.ne.jp/mame_tunes/index_en.html Now, move the sdl mame folder into the mametunes folder Open mametunes application. Go to preferences, and in the MAME menu point to the sdlmame folder in the sdlmame Select button. In the same window, go to the SDLMAME menu and select OpenGL in the Video mode rolldown menu. Now lets add some games. First download a few from any rom site. Create a new folder called Roms into the mametunes folder and place the previously downloaded rom zips (don't extract them) inside. Go back to the mametunes preferences window and to the MAME options and add the roms folder in the Roms Folder List section. Now go to the SETUP options and choose Export MAME Rom List This process could take some time, so relax and wait. Ok, now import the generated file by pressing Import MAME Rom List, and in the import options choose as TEXT instead of XML. Once the process finished you should see on your mametunes a log list of "possible games". Search yours in the list or use the spotlight on the application and start playing! Cheers Carlitosx

Confirmed: The amount of ram has nothing to do with it, remove the battery and clone your hd safely. Ooooh! Playing SDL Mame now, what a pleasure! Edit: SDL MAME is a version of the popular multiple arcade machine emulator for almost any platform. The problem with other versions of mame for mac is, they a are designed for working with the apple original machines. (PS2 keyboard not supported) With SDL it works, and you can play classic arcade games on your netbook.

i think the problem is the aditional 1GB ram installed on the netbook cause it seems to be not very compatible with snow leopard remove it and try again, if it works, the solution is buying a new ram. (kingston)
  13. Lenovo S12 ion (NVIDIA) 10.6.6 GUDE

Totally agree with HNO3 Anyway you should think seriously in replace the preinstalled 1GB extra ram dimm for a new one preferentially a 2GB dimm. ¿Why? cause seems that the manufacturer of the ram preinstalled is not particulary compatible with snow leopard. Thats why i got 3GB of ram in total now. 1GB built in and 2GB extra dimm installed instead of the original.
  14. Lenovo S12 ion (NVIDIA) 10.6.6 GUDE

Yes, absolutely, remember to follow the instructions of the svn version. And dont worry about patching... ill keep working on it
  15. Lenovo S12 ion (NVIDIA) 10.6.6 GUDE

Hi AliBaba2011 Thanks to you for following this guide and for your post Now i can see that my instructions about the chamelelon bootloader are not so clear... What i really mean is, download lastest official (rc4 now) release of chameleon bootloader, extract it somewhere and then replace the boot file from your root hard disk with the new one. So pacifist ins not necessary. Puff battery life is turning me crazy... my battery meter shows 3:30 with full charge... but it seems to increase during work till 4hs... and sometimes it goes down showing 3:00. My real battery life, timing it with a clock is 4 hours aprox. I know that in the development thread someone talks about five hours, but he doesn't explain a thing about how to get them. About sleep... and lid sleep... i have recently test a dsdt who enables both, but wifi and bluetooth wont work with it. So i am trying to merge my dsdt with the other one. As soon i get everything working ill post the new dsdt inmediatly replacing the lastest svn. My last test with sleepenabler kext brick my os, so i had to erase it using terminal booting with the leopard install disc. So... don't even think on this kext!! jajaja. Once again, thank you for posting and one more thing... this goes for everyone... if someone knows something about dsdt patching please write me a PM, i really need help for doing this and no one seems to be very interested in give us a hand.
