  1. Thank you Danielani, you make my day! Let me try this combo DSDT/HDA and I'm sure I can (at last) hear stereo sound in my G73. I can live without sleep in the "lappy" but the screen brightness doesn't seem to work either. Back in Lion it works flawlessly but ML should be something a little bit different that prevent the driver to control the LCD bright.
  2. Which model do you have? Mine is the A1 and: 1.- The SMBios.plist I use is Macbook6,1. I'm trying the 6,2 for the speedstep to work in turbo mode with no positive results whatsoever. I'll try your MBAir... 2.- IO80211Family.kext it is not necesary if you patch correctly the DSDT. It works flawlessly. begin Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)\n {\n Store (Package (0x0C)\n {\n "AAPL,slot-name", \n Buffer (0x08)\n {\n "AirPort"\n }, \n "device-id", \n Unicode ("*"), \n "device_type", \n Buffer (0x08)\n {\n "AirPort"\n }, \n "model", \n Buffer (0x34)\n {\n "Atheros 9285 8802.11 b/g/n Wireless Network Adapter"\n }, \n "subsystem-id", \n Buffer (0x04)\n {\n 0x8F, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00\n }, \n "subsystem-vendor-id", \n Buffer (0x04)\n {\n 0x6B, 0x10, 0x00, 0x00\n }\n }, Local0)\n DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0))\n Return (Local0)\n } end 3.- The Atheros Gigabyte Ethernet controller works with lc1 kext in ######. 4.- Why did you remove the org.chameleon.Boot.plist is a big mistery to me. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>AtiConfig</key> <string>Orangutan</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Rescan</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>SystemType</key> <string>2</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Default</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> This one works perfectly for our laptop. 5.- I don't know why using ATI Rom doesn't work in ML. It cause a big f...ng hang. I dropped its use because of that and because I use Chameleon/Chimera as bootloader and works fine with AtiConfig=Orangutan (only LCD, no VGA, no HDMI but I'm working the kext's tweak right now, just matter of few hex strings in the right order ) What is driven me crazy is the LCD stays off after awake from sleep. Everything sleeps well (USB, disks, trackpad, ethernet, wifi, BT, even the Video) and everything awakes well too but the LCD panel. Another little detail is sound. I couldn't work with AppleHDA ever (vanilla way). I always have to depend on VoodooHDA with its mono sound bug (or my ignorance) so if you can help me with the correct DSDT lines and the right AppleHDA.kext you'll gain my eternal (as long the laptop works ) appreciation.
  3. Direct3D 10/11 natively on Linux

Sadly but Linux is useless for non geek people on daily work basis... It's frustrating how hard, for "normal", people is to solve a problem once arose in their systems. The usual suspects on my store are people asking for Windows support (format & reinstall LoL) and, Linux. So DX 10/11 on Linux is as cool as you know exactly what you are doing and for what... Dreaming in a day that Linux would be as easy as, cough, Mac , and the next day all games would be playable in any platform Nice notice for us btw... Sorry my english... How can I say, I'm spanish and pro Mac
  4. Did I found a bug of OS X?

1.- You simply cannot create a folder "Volumes" on Mac1 because it is already there... 2.- After you define your new users folder location you need to copy/move all your stuff there, if not, obviously this will result in a "new" account because there are nothing in that location. 3.- The crazy bug happened to me around 1:15 not 11:23
  5. Services to replace .Mac

Reaaaaally? How so? An alpha maybe? Audio/Video is the only thing Apple suck at all. Their we-do-whatever-we-want-and-if-you-dont-like-go-away policy is in my judge the only reason they are not at the top of market's share. Maybe this is the reason they even exist, be exclusive in their ideas, who knows... Apple is a "love it or hate it" company... I am at the "luv" side since Apple ][c but I'm not blind: they have to be a little more open in some areas. Anyhow, yes, Adium actually do better than iChat except a very little detail -> iChat Copyright © 2002 – 2007 Apple Inc. All rights reserved. You know what I mean...
  6. OMFG This is quite hilarious because I'm reading this at the same time I'm thinking about my hard work on sunday if my MW won't get alive after appliying the recover-with-reinstall method (I actually don't know which is the real name for this process: run all setup normaly until the program says that there is already a MW installation and ask me if I want to recover) You know is a pain to reinstall all the stuff over and over thanks to uncle Bill and his stable-like-a-rock OS. On the other hand, I own Mac's too and the only reason that I ever had for reinstall the OS X is because it's better to do a fresh install instead of upgrade when a new version arrives. XP RULES!!! (read: sarcasm)
  7. Free speech has consequences

The same applies for {censored}: you can be {censored} if you want to, but not without consecuenses... Be {censored} is ANTINATURAL period! It is all about detrimental of sex health. We live (mostly) in a free world, be {censored}, be free, but don't think everybody is as mentaly sick as you are...
  8. Open port 80 on Zone Alarm (aka "web server" port) to accept incoming conections from internet (wan) and remember the rules order are followed in ZA: put the "accept wan port 80" before any rule of "deny" type. Not to blame you dude and just curiosity: I wondering how is this topic a Mac related one? (noob thoughts)
  9. Why doesn't apple...

The answer is really simple: Apple is a HARDWARE Company, not a software one. They only ensure their hardware works the best way adding some remarkable software, that's it. Mac OS X is what it is only because it works in a well balanced hardware. That is the only way you can minimize OS issues (minimize not erradicate). That's why Microsoft is what it is: full viruses, software glitches, hardware glitches, not for bad but for trying to offer an ALMIGHTY solution for a extremely wide hardware market. Microsoft is a SOFTWARE Company, and Linux is the not-so-ugly Unix's face but the most stable, you choose. If you want to keep wishing Mac OS X, let Apple keep doing it in his own way, otherwise Mac OS X will become a buggy OS too, not as buggy as MW but very close thanks to the less changed UNIX side of Mac OS X. Remember Unix is powerfull but don't do miracles... My advice: work for buy a Mac, you wont regreat, I assure you. (I have 5: Mac 512, SE, Powerbook 165, G5 PPC, MacBook Pro, all working ;-) My 2 cents...
