  1. Hi Tseug & everybody, thanks for this excellent and easy guide. Things certainly have become a lot easier in the last 5 years. I installed Lion on an extra hdd and everything is up and running smoothly, including sleep, etc. The only issue I have recently noticed is that I lost the ability to hotswap drive via the Gigabyte SATA2 chip. Any thought/comments? Thanks, aMuse
  2. Hi MaLd0n, thanks. Which FakeSMC are you using with the SMC Monitor? Also, can you send me a snapshot of you P & C States (SMC Monitor)? My Frequency (MHz) and PERF_CTL differ quite a bit. aMuse
  3. Hi MaLd0n, as always thanks for your advice. I haven't upgraded yet to 10.6.7 (still 10.6.6, Chameleon 2 RC5) but things are working well, except Speedstep. I have it enabled in /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist: <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> But MSR Tools show actual frequ. and max. frequ. as the same (no load). Any suggestions? Bios settings? Best, aMuse
  4. Worked like a charm, thanks MaLd0n! It seems I can even hotplug external Sata drives great! P.S. Problems relate only to an older built
  5. same settings as me. Hmm, strange ... I wonder if there are different GSATA controller on these boards. aMuse
  6. Hi MaLd0n, thanks for all your help. Really appreciate it. Your DSDT patch led to my fasted built yet. I was hoping to use my the GSata controller of my GA-EP35-DS3R board. I am hoping to use them for two eSata drives. So far OSx loads fine, the drives show up orange, but the first time I try to access them I get the wheel of death and both drives get ejected and the system profiler shows Serial-ATA with "There was an errror while scanning for Serial-ATA devices". Any thoughts? aMuse
  7. Hey MaLd0n, Thanks again for all your help. You have created a whole group of OSx86 fans here in Toronto. A good friend recently started trying to DSDT patch his eVGA board (EVGA 132-GT-E768-KR, it is one of the X58 FTW3 variety) but without much success. Do you think your patcher could do the trick? As always, thanks for all your help, aMuse
  8. Thanks MaLd0n, perfect install, and much snappier.
  9. Hey MadLd0n, thanks for keeping this thread alive and all the work. I am planning on installing 10.6.6 on OCZ SSD (Sata) tomorrow. Is there an easy way to make the SSD bootable from OS X? I prefer installing from OS X with the new drive connected. Also, my last DSDT file hasn't changed since Dec 28th, (see post #108). Do I need to repatch or am I good to go? Is there a newer chameleon version for GA-EP35-DS3R? Thanks a million, aM
  10. Hi MaLd0n, thanks for all your DSDT files. I tried both but still have no wireless for my Buffalo card. Strange. aMuse
  11. Hi MaLd0n, Here is my DSDT.bin from Everest. aMuse acpi_dsdt.zip
  12. Thanks MaLd0n, how can I ectract my DSDT from Windows 7? Thanks, Amuse
  13. Hi MaLd0n, Thanks so much for your help. System is up and running at 10.6.5 with Chameleon RC2 r660. Great built! Sleep etc. all working. Just a few small things: 1. BootCD: Couldn't use because the older version of Chameleon on there can't manage hard drives > 1TB (I had to clean the boot records and rebuilt from another hard drive) 2. I lost wirless. My card (an old Buffalo WLI2-PCI-G54 ) worked natively on all older builds. I guess it must have something to do with the PCI address. But great otherwise, I love DSDT. So much easier. aMuse
  14. Hey MaLdOn, Thanks for all the help. I was about to upgrade my system with the DSDT you sent me but ran across your other post and noticed a few more recent changes: your latest DSDT Auto-Patcher Chameleon 2 RC5 r687 Also I was hoping to install from a running system (10.6.4) to another harddrive, faster than a DVD install: OSInstall.mpkg MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.5.dmg Chameleon doesn't seem to install to another harddrive (only the one running current OS X). What do you suggest? 1. Running BootCD 2. Installing from Native SN DVD 3. Applying Chameleon r687 4. Patching DSDT 5. Restart Thanks, aMuse DSDT.aml.zip
  15. Thanks MaLd0n, You are tops! P.S. Isn't the Jmicron in Extensions for ATA harddrives only? Am I good for my video card EVGA GTX 470 without installing additional kexts?
