  1. If you get the error message cp: /889a/ALCinject.kext: No such file or directory cp: /889a/AppleHDA.kext: No such file or directory Then there is a small bug in your code; the following lines should read sudo cp -R ./889a/ALCinject.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo cp -R ./889a/AppleHDA.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ you were using absolute paths ...
  2. works on intel DX58S0 also, using XxX 10.5.6 installed using osx86tools (two clicks, in the GUI, otherwise move to /System/Library/Extensions, do a chmod root:wheel on the files an rebuild the kextcache -k /System/Libraryr/Extensions) sweet. Now only ALC889 remaining after much tweaking (Core i7 920 - booting after busratio=20 cpus=1). Already gets an impressive 7940 geekbenchs and feels REALLY fast. If you want to know details, please write. maybe I'll open a thread, since I haven't really found much on the topic of successful DX58S0 (DX58SO) Installations here or on hackint0sh
  3. Leopard on my Macbook pro

I understand, you only have Core Duo, too. *ducking*
  4. Leopard on my Macbook pro

in respone to Sherry Haibara's post ist yes, not no. He essentially said what you, I and the apple page say. The point being, if leopard will run on his 32 bit core-duo: yes.
  5. Leopard on my Macbook pro

    http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/technology/64bit.html yes.
  6. Leopard on my Macbook pro

now you spoiled it. Apple went to great pains to hide that very fact in the Keynote and ond their site as well. Only few were supposed to know.
  7. Leopard on my Macbook pro

Yes, you have to trash that crappy old Core Duo Macbook. But man, you're a Mac User! I'm sure you can easily afford a spankin' new core 2 duo macbook pro.
  8. Renewed hatred for MS!

guten tag! yep, so i guess they'll be coming around with a fix for it once media attention is there. again it is so much better to be on the mac side - here we never even complained that we don't actually GET a 64bit operating system (*cough* cli only *cough*)
  9. Renewed hatred for MS!

Adrian, german heise magazine has some infomration on it: http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/84983 seems you're not alone --- bottom line is, at least they are warning you right now no solution whatsoever is available cheers, gid
  10. Adobe CD3 Beta install on Jas 10.4.8

I used the trial period, as my key doesn't ssem to work as i wrote. no probs here (yet I just get an error about some unsupported plugins, but that might stem from my previous instalaltion of CS1
  11. Adobe CD3 Beta install on Jas 10.4.8

on my standard jas 10.4.8 install the beta runs just fine. unfortunately my Windows Design Collection key doesn't seem to be eligible for installation. I'll have a look, though. seems slightly slower than on my 2.0ghz dual g5 - which is not so astonishing considering i'm running with an 'ole 3,2ghz p4/ht (941 i think). if i have some time i'll do a ps7bench. any demand?
  12. to all thos people who lost a partition: try cgsecurity.org's testdisk. it can intelligently salvage under a lot of OSs, even spanned raid5 stuf iirc. Under win32 try R-Studio (google for it). the testdesk utility is also included on inside security's bootable "insert" cd: http://www.inside-security.de/insert_en.html. essential for anyone stupid enough not to backup data in the first place and then fcku around with pre-production-hacked-osx86 builds on the same system !? n-way....
  13. Yuck sp0t, that's so slimy. Mash's comments are of course always excellent, aren't they, Mash? You want one more beer? Sorry, gotta go now, my legitimately backed-up dvds are calling. gid
