  1. @marazi what speed did you burn the .iso at?? you have to burn on a very low speed leopard disks are notorious for corrupting when burned to hastily set your burning software to the lowest speed and try burning it again

  3. ok i have everything working in my hackintosh accept internet (and i allready know how to take care ofthat so its not an issue) but i have run into one very major problem i am a guitarist who desporately wants to shed the microsoft monkey from my back so i built a hacintosh i am using the tascam fireone firewire audio interface with the native leopard driver provided with the unit and everything works perfectly accept that i have no input audio i am by no means a mac programmer so i have no idea where to begin in diagnosing or fixing this problem so i was hoping someone here might any help would be greatly appreciated

  5. i have leopard installed but now whenever i boot into the system the disk mounts as read only and the system crashes right after i log in is there a way to change the disk permissions that i am missing (chown hasnt been working but im from a linux background so maybe im not correct with my syntax for os x) any help would be appreciated thank you
  6. ok this all started after i installed leopard and had some minor issues (for more info you can read my initial thread here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=85405 ok so heres whats happening when i log in it gives me an error saying this computer cannot acces the disk that is inserted or some such and gives the options to unmount initialise or exit (i think) and no matter what i click (with the exception of exit never tryed that as it is somewhat counter productive to my cause) i click it goes on to start to load the desktop i get a really big dock that isnt animated and then after about 30 seconds it kicks me back to the login screen and freezes please no complaining if this was addressed elsewhere i did search and couldnt find anything so if it has been addressed allready maybe you could just throw a link to the thread that i missed so i could check it out -edit: i just did some digging in single user mode and it looks like my system disk is for some reason mounting as read only is there a way to chmod or chown (or something) the disk to make it mount permenantly as read write instead?? thank you
  7. cant create account

ok using the console i was able to get into my instillation but now when i log in it gives me an error about this computer cannot acces the disk that is inserted or some such and gives the options to unmount initialise orexit (i think) and whatever i click it goes on to start to load the desktop i get a really big dock that isnt animated and then after about 30 seconds it kicks me back to the login screen and freezes i am posting this here in case anyone allready following this thread can benefit from it and i will also be starting a new thread about it wich can be accessed here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=85511
  8. cant create account

can you post what cards use these chipsets and possibly where i can get them?? for those interested it seems intel pro/100 seems to work as well but its expensive
  9. ok well after lots of trial and error i have finally been able to get leopard installed on my amd box without asking for any help (these forums are great) but sadly after finally getting it up and running i get to the part of the initial setup where it wants me to create my user account but after i put in all my info and hit next (or was it creat?? i dont remember but whatever) anyway when i hit the button it says at the bottom "creating your account" and the little throbber turns next to it but it just sits there doing that forever i mean like 20 minutes and finally when i cant take it anymore i shut it down but then when i try it again it says that the account allready exsists and it puts a 1 next to my name so i went into the installation through ubuntu (also installed on my system( anbd it shows that every account i have tryed to create is there but i just cant seem to access them any ideas??
  10. ATI law suit

Dude what planet are you from? ATI linux drivers have been available for years (granted they are and always were pure rubbish but still...) Your talking about going in and suing a MAJOR corporation and you havent even't done a days homework on the companys policies or the applicabal laws and legal standing. Not only that but I have spotted several examples of horrable grammer in your post and subsequent replyes. Lawyer?? I think not! Come on people don't you see whats happening here?? this guy isn't going to law school. I doubt hes even collage-aged. Hes probobly just some kid wanting to rally people around him so he can feel big and important. You haven't made a single valid, point in fact if I were a judge I would let your client go free and lock YOU up!
