  1. AnV IOPCIFamily 2.5 build 243

just tried that. didn't change anything, sry.
  2. CardBus/PCMCIA PC Cards for Leopard

tried that with the one from iatkos 10.5.4. ... didn't change anything, sry.
  3. CardBus/PCMCIA PC Cards for Leopard

Hey Chun-nan. Sorry for the late reply - didn't had the time to play around the last 2 month. I tried your new IOPCMCIAFamily.kext with 10.5.2 but no success. First issue - the same old bad bridge mapping thing... but even worse - I could not boot with it, not even after putting out the pcmcia adapter card. Then I tried with 10.5.5... same thing here. Then 10.5.6 and your 10.5.6 version of the kext - same mistake again. But now there comes the interesting part - my system has 4 GB Ram, and I just tried putting out 2 GB... voila - the card is recognized ... I don't know if it's really working but at least it seems to be detected right. Unfortunately I still can't boot with IOPCMCIAFamily.kext. Tried a ton of combinations of different kexts but no success. The attached picture shows system with 2GB and pcmcia-adapter booting with -v... (at this point it stucks) it's basically the same with 4gb except for showing bad bridge mapping etc. ... and it's also the same without pcmcia card except that there is nothing about the adapter card. At least this seems to point to the right direction and I really start believing that in my case, the problem is not (and never has been) the kext or the adapter card but something else on the system. Any idea? here are my specs: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 (Rev2) - P35 + ICH9 Q6600, 4GB Ram, 8600GT, PCMCIA Card with Ricoh chip 500GB SATA HDD and SATA DVD connected to ICH9 south bridge iPC 10.5.6
  4. AnV IOPCIFamily 2.5 build 243

hey. I tried your IOPCIFamily.kext included in iPC's 10.5.6 installer but always get the same error. (tried a ton of different combinations of kexts, with and without pcmcia adapter etc...) any idea how to fix that? here my system specs: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 (Rev2) - P35 + ICH9 Q6600, 4GB Ram, 8600GT, PCMCIA Card with Ricoh chip 500GB SATA HDD and SATA DVD connected to ICH9 south bridge

dmesg still shows "bad bridge mapping". ioreg2.rtf
  6. CardBus/PCMCIA PC Cards for Leopard

hey. the other pci card was a soundcard but like I said, it's not plugged in anymore. there is no additional pci ethernet card.
  7. CardBus/PCMCIA PC Cards for Leopard

hey Chun-Nan, yes. there was another pci card beside the pci-pcmcia. I already tried without it and it makes no difference. but I will keep it outside for now. I also tried putting the pci-pcmcia card into another slot (made no difference) and updated to 10.5.5 now but still "bad bridge mapping". somehow I can't find ioreg_sp.txt as a file but its content is shown in systemprofiler, so I copied it and made a new file. hope this helps. ioreg.rtf

yes, I am using leopard (at the moment 10.5.2 but will update soon to 10.5.5) of course I used the kext for leopard, and as the new one is exactly the same size they are probably the same. so I am a bit confused cause the result is different (but still not better): bash-3.2# dmesg ersion 6.0. 12. CardBus/PCMCIA PC Cards for Leopard

hey again. I tried to get my pci-cardbus adapter to work with every version but still no success. it's not that I can't boot or anything but the card is just not recognized. chip is ricoh r5c485. windows says device-id: 1180 vendor-id: 0475 ... so it should be supported. 8 months passed and still having the same issue. what can I do?
  13. RME HDSP MacOSX (x86) drivers released

hey! first, thanks for your answer! the connection is not the problem as it works perfectly in windows. by now, I installed 10.4.8 successfully but just some minutes ago I have wanted to install your driver for the pci-to-cardbus adapter but have had to realize the thread is gone?! (maybe because of the forum update) now, the interesting thing is: as I couldn't find it I tried again with Chun-Nan's driver (this time for tiger of course) and voîla - the same problem as in leopard. now as this is the only difference to your setup (and yours is working) maybe my problems in leopard are just some properly working kexts for the adapter. I would really like to try the drivers you are using in tiger, so do you still have them? where can I get them? like I said, the thread is gone (it's the link I posted in #93).
  14. RME HDSP MacOSX (x86) drivers released

0xdeadbeef: As I read here - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry375242 - you use a Multiface with PCMCIA and a Ricoh 475 too. I am going to try Tiger 10.4.8 (have to find a working one first) and if it doesn't work there either, the problem shouldn't be the RME driver but something with my configuration (as yours is running). But if it does work then probably the official driver (1.71) is the basic problem on Leo + PCMCIA. Somewhere on the official forum, one of the RME guys said there is no driver support for PCI on Intel based machines (as a real Intel mac doesn't have pci) but as we all know there are a lot of people here confirming that v.1.71 works nevertheless (also with Leo). Maybe this is because - as you said - Leo can't tell a difference between PCI or PCI-e or at least it doesn't matter. But what about the difference between pcmcia and cardbus? There are no Intel macs with pcmcia, so there is no official support too and maybe that doesn't work with 1.71 and Leo. But the real question: If the RME driver is the problem, will there be anything we/you could do about it? edit: I mean the difference between pcmcia and express card of course.. pcmcia and cardbus is the same
  15. RME HDSP MacOSX (x86) drivers released

update: tried with 10.5.1 - no success any help would be great! sdonner
