  1. ATI 4890 Snow Leopard 10.6.1 10.6.2 Information Thread

I just updated to 10.6.4. I used the patch from netkas, but i lost dual display. Applying again the dualdvi patch from cindori I got it back. Now everything is fine again.

Great NEWS!! The displayport->dvi adapter just arrived and it works! For working dual monitor with extended desktop my setup is: 10.6.3 with dualdvi patch from cindori 1 display attached trough dvi 2 display attached trough dvi in the displayport via the adapter displayport->dvi. My video card is the Sapphire Vapor-x 1gb with vga hdmi displayport dvi. I tried all the combination but only dvi and displayport ports work. Now In the next days I'm going to update to 10.6.4 and I'll let you know.

I have the same card and I'm sharing the same problem This is the only thing that I wasn't able to solve I found that before exotic patch I got dual screen working but only in mirror mode. After the patch only dvi works. Any help is really appreciate!

  6. Hi pyr0 i tried your strategy ant it works, i have also written very simple script to try to unload the IOUSBFamily.kext (without renaiming it) and also the kext that depends on it, but some of these kext cant unload and if i try to remove some of these i get a kernel panic in particoular com.apple.driver.AppleUSBEHCI and com.apple.driver.AppleUSBUHCI This is the code: sudo kextunload -b com.parallels.kext.ConnectUSB sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBBluetoothHCIController sudo kextunload -b com.apple.iokit.IOBluetoothFamily sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBComposite sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBBluetoothHCIController sudo kextunload -b com.apple.iokit.IOSerialFamily sudo kextunload -b com.apple.iokit.IOUSBUserClient sudo kextunload -b com.apple.iokit.IOUSBHIDDriver sudo kextunload -b com.apple.iokit.IOBluetoothSerialManager sudo kextunload -b com.apple.iokit.IOUSBHIDDriver sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBHub sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBEHCI sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBUHCI sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleIOUSBFamily Any idea? I thing that we are very close to full sleep running a simple script before executing sleep command Bye Iceloop
  7. Hi macgirl, first of all thanks very much for this awesome guide.I have an m1330 and with your guide now i have a nearly perfect install(i bought an dell 1490 for wifi) except power down, stop and reboot :(Do you think that there is a hope that they working with 10.5.2 upgrade?Another little question...Can you send me the old kext for audio, beacuse with the lastest you have posted, my speaker works, but when i plug my earphone they don't stop play. Becausei work in a very silent place i prefer the old kext and audio only trough earphone.Thank you very much.IceloopSorry for maybe stupid question about audio..Only now i discover that if you can go to system preference and sound,in output tab you can choose the earphone audio output that mute the speaker, and you can ear the audio from right jack earphone! Thanks againIceloop
