  1. It seems to be working fine now. Strange.. Dump is below if you still want it: Found a device of class GenericUSBXHCI: IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0/AppleACPIPCI/RP04@1C,3/IOPCI2PCIBridge/XHC1@0/GenericUSBXHCI Endpoint 1, Type Control, State Running Multiple 1, Interval 1 microframes, CErr 3, Max Burst 1, Max Packet Size 64 Average TRB Length 8, Max ESIT Payload 0 Endpoint 7, Type Bulk In, State Running Multiple 1, Interval 1 microframes, CErr 3, Max Burst 1, Max Packet Size 512 Average TRB Length 512, Max ESIT Payload 0 Endpoint 8, Type Bulk Out, State Running Multiple 1, Interval 1 microframes, CErr 3, Max Burst 1, Max Packet Size 512 Average TRB Length 512, Max ESIT Payload 0 Endpoint 12, Type Bulk Out, State Running Multiple 1, Interval 1 microframes, CErr 3, Max Burst 1, Max Packet Size 512 Average TRB Length 512, Max ESIT Payload 0 Endpoint 26, Type Bulk Out, State Running Multiple 1, Interval 1 microframes, CErr 3, Max Burst 1, Max Packet Size 512 Average TRB Length 512, Max ESIT Payload 0
  2. No luck with chameleon. All the kexts you mention are loaded. SNB and HD3000 both v 8.0.0. Not sure what's up. By all accounts, I should have acceleration, yet no QE. --Adeeb
  3. I have one issue to report. I have an RNX-N150 wireless adapter that I use. When I use it on an apple controlled USB2 port, it works fine. On a USB3 port, it still works(an improvement from before), but wireless speeds are very slow. I would assume this hase something to do with transfer rates. --Adeeb
  4. I get the split yellow screen, meaning EnableDualLink=Yes didn't work. I did check for QE/CI anyway, and no luck. So removing the EFI string didn't help. EDIT: I edited my DSDT and added the dual-link property. My display now works without the efi string. Still no QE/CI however. --Adeeb
  5. I'm using the latest i7 1080p dsdt from your pack. Specs are: i7 2720QM 1080p screen GT 525M EFI string and io dump attached. --Adeeb Archive.zip
  6. Tried the kexts but no dice. So if you're able to run FurMark then you do have full acceleration. I can't run it at all, nothing with OpenGL even starts for me. Could you see what system profiler says about your display? Mine says: Intel HD Graphics 3000: Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 3000 Type: GPU Bus: Built-In VRAM (Total): 384 MB Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x0126 Revision ID: 0x0009 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Built-In: Yes I do believe it should say Intel HD Graphics 3000 Mobile? Maybe it thinks mine is the desktop version for some reason. Also: The shutdown issue seems to have gone away now(or maybe it's only when I have something in the USB3 port). --Adeeb
  7. Works for me. Although I don't seem to be able to shutdown anymore. Screen goes blank, but power light and usb devices stay on. Could you also comment on my HD 3000 problem? It would be nice if you could confirm that you truly get QE/CI support (try running FurMark or Unigine or some other benchmark)
  8. Hey guys, is anyone else having problems with QE/CI on the HD 3000? I'm running ML 10.8.3, and while HD 3000 is detected and I can change resolutions, I don't think it's actually being used. For instance: Graphics effects like opening a folder in grid view are super slow. OpenGL Extensions Viewer only shows "Apple Software Render" (meaning no hardware acceleration), and any application that tries to create an OpenGL 3d buffer (like Unigine Heaven or FurMark) fails. I've been running SL and Lion before this, and I'm not sure if I had the same problem then. Can anyone confirm that they actually get hardware acceleration on an L502x? I always assumed mine did because it says "HD 3000," but guess not. --Adeeb
  9. I'd like to point out that I can get a 1920x1080 boot res on chameleon with A06, but with any bios after that, it seems to go to 1280x1024 or something like that. I'm guessing that was a change in VESA resolutions from downgrading the vbios after A06. I'm wondering if swapping in the A06 vbios would fix that issue for later bios versions? --Adeeb
  10. Haven't tried yet, but will soon. I'd backup all important kexts like smc, aicpupm, etc that worked for 10.7.4 before upgrading, and copy them back. Also try installing the L502x kext package again if you can. --Adeeb
  11. That happened to me when I installed to. Try a USB mouse or keyboard in the USB2 port. If that doesn't work, you'll have to get the right DSDT onto your partition before continuing with setup. I got the DSDT on mine by booting up the install USB, opening the terminal, mounting the install partition, and copying the DSDT from the usb to the partition. Might help to install PS2 kexts at the same time --Adeeb
  12. I'd guess the timeout on AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement is your problem. Might need that or SMC patched. What are your boot args? --Adeeb
  13. Don't know if you guys get this, but I KP with the A11 bios. AppleIntelCPUPM doesn't like some change in the power states with that bios. Using the unlocked A06 got me booting again. Also, DoiX, you might want to try testing the nvidia gpu on the A06 as well for several reasons. For one, when I boot A06, chameleon boots 1920x1080 like it should, but on A11, it boots with 1366x768 or some such resolution. I'm guessing the later bios changed some video settings. Also, on A11, the default selected card was IGD, which kind of doesn't make sense as that would be disabling optimus. On A06, the default card is Auto, which would be optimus switching. My guess is that the video card setting isn't working properly in A11, or was disabled by Dell. Just a thought. --Adeeb
  14. There is also an option inside PEG settings that says PEG always on or something of the sort. I'm pretty sure that also needs to be enabled in PEG mode. From what I understand, without that enabled, the discrete still follows optimus behavior and automatically disables itself when not in use. Might be why you crash at desktop. I think the l702x option was only for the 3d screen models. I haven't tested the new bios on OSX yet, only windows. I use my OSX partition for work, so I'm trying not to brick it Will start a new partition and experiment soon.. --Adeeb
  15. Good news! capitankasar over at http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-studio-xps/635536-l502x-modded-bioses-download-gpu-voltages-more-81.html managed to unlock the advanced BIOS menu. I flashed just now and works for me. It doesn't seem to have an integrated/discrete option like the L702s does. However, there is an option for primary graphics adapter. Default is IGP, setting it to PEG does disable integrated on my laptop. However, windows refused to route through the nvidia card, and ended up running on basic vga drivers. I'll need to play around with it more, but being able to disable integrated might finally mean a breakthough in using our nvidia cards for OSX. --Adeeb
