  1. Timed Sleep Not Working

Upgraded to Lion on Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. Everything works beautifully, with the except of timed sleep. In other words, if I select sleep from the apple menu, it goes to sleep as it should, and wakes back up. However, if I wait x minutes as set in the energy pref pane, it just turns the display off, not a full sleep. Anyone else encounter this issue? Thanks. Using Chameleon RC5 build 1096, dsdt, and have the following in /e/e: ACHIPortInjector FakeSMC IntelCPUMonitor IntelThermal IOAHCIBLOCKStorageInjector Also have in boot.plist: <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> I did patch the AppleRTC to fix the random CMOS resets. Thanks!
  2. Check out SuperDuper. Will clone everything including boot loader. You can also schedule smart updates later, it will just copy/delete just what it needs without redoing the entire backup so you always have a clean image. If you do need to resort to backup, literally all you have to do is boot from the backup, it works without having to do a single thing!
  3. Genius mschilling. I found voodoohda.kext .2.56 on the italian version of this forum. BAM! Audio! Don't know why I did just do this days ago... So much easier! Thank you thank you thank you! Also, I deleted AppleHDA.kext as well. I had to put voodoo in s/l/e otherwise it didn't work i /e/e. Also don't seem to need the alc889a.kext... Do I need that for anything. I don't have that file install and my sound is working. Now my system is complete with audio and bonjour support too!!!!! Next projects are my esata card and usb webcam!
  4. Thanks I'll try that code now. Are you using legacyhda or hda enabler? If so, could you post me those kexts... Thanks! Tried that, no luck. Not using HDAENabler, LegacyHDA or anything. If you are in conjunction with this code, please post those files in a zip file! Thanks.. here is my DSDT currently. Are there any other differences in the HDEF section? 5. Agreed but I have patched my dsdt about a dozen times with mo success!! Wondering if any one can tell me what i have wrong in my dsdt. Thanks!
  6. i have 10.6.2 running on p35-ds3l rev 1 bios f9.. everything works but my sound.. though its supposed to work in theory
  7. I need some help before I shoot myself. I have SL 10.6.2 running great... all except audio. The following shows up in system profiler: ntel High Definition Audio: Device ID: 0x1458A002 Audio ID: 12 Available Devices: Line Out: Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack External Microphone: Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack External Microphone: Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack Headphone: Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack S/P-DIF Out: Connection: Combo S/P-DIF In: Connection: Combo However, there are no devices listed in the sound pref pane. I have attached my DSDT file, the LegacyHDA.kext from my /E/E folder, and the AppleHDA.kext from the /S/L/E folder. Any help would be appreciated, I really have no clue what to try at this point. Thanks audio.zip
  8. Can somone help with my audio.. I've tried virtually everything. I have a p35-dsl3 with f9 bios. I am using the DSDT and the /e/e provided with the download below. Have no clue why I still have no sound... Any help would be appreciated before I go crazy
  9. Any luck with 10.6.2? If so could you share your /Extra Folder and DSDT file? Thanks!
  10. Quick help needed

Try burning a Boot-132 ISO to disc, and boot up via the CD/DVD. Hit enter at first prompt, then type 80 (for 1st hardrive, 81 for second, etc). If you can get back in OSX, download Uinstaller and reinstall PCI_EFI v9 Chameleon Edition 1.0.12. Make sure the correct disk is selected to install the bootloader to. Take out the CD, reboot, and hopefully it works.
  11. I have a Sonix S9C201, and used iUSBCam ( http://ecamm.com/mac/iusbcam/). Makes the camera work just great in iChat. Its shareware, however, costs 9.95. HTH.
  12. [How To] Install Mac on a Vaio SZ7

I have a VAIO SZ250PC and have successfully installed retail 10.5.4 with Boot-132. The only challenge is the internal LCD doesn't work nor the trackpad on install, so I hooked up to an external LCD and USB keyboard/mouse. You could creat a custom boot-132 with the right kexts, and it would then work fine I assume. AFter install I used EFI v9 + Chameleon as the bootloader. After install, I have used a modified intel 950 kext, so the resolution works great, as does QE acceleration. Network, sound, battery meter, trackpad (no scrolling) all work great. Also thing I can't get to work is sleep (it doesn't sleep, but doesn't wake back up!). I also updated to stock 10.5.5 with no issues, but 10.5.6 is a disaster that I can't solve! I also don't believe its possible to use the SPEED mode (nvidia 8400) successfully. But who knows!
  13. EBIOS Error During Install DVD Boot

I had the same error on Sony VAIO SZ250P/C with Boot-132 and retail leopard 10.5.4. I got around it with out re-burning a disc but holding down F8 after insertting retail disc. When the error message came up 3 times, I ejected the disc and re-inserted it. The disc eventually load, however, I just had a blue screen on my monitor. So i hooked up an external display, and presto, I was of to the races. I did have to plug in a USB keyboard/mouse because my trackpad didn't work at that point. Hope this helps!
  14. Does anyone out there have a SZ vaio where sleep actually works? My screen goes blank, but it looks as though there is activity, and I can't wake it up. My battery meter works beautifully, FWIW. Or did anyone have this problem and actually fix it? Thanks! Leopard 10.5.5 (via Kalway 10.5.1) 9.5 Kernel / Darwin Bootloader
