  1. Hello... I managed to install SL on an ASUS P5LD2-X/1333 mobo using this guide : (which probably makes it a success story on a non-Gigabyte mobo) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181699 (btw, it needed 2 Gigs of RAM, when I tried with 1 GIG, the installer paniced at boot... or my 1 gig alone had a problem) Specs: Mobo: ASUS P5LD2-X/1333 CPU: Intel E2160 DualCore 1.80GHz Ram : 2Gigs DDR2 Kingston Vga: Nvidia 7200GS 256MB HDD: IDE + SATA LAN: D-LINK DFE-528 (PCI), Onboard Intel Pro Card (disabled from BIOS,malfunctioning even in windows) BIOS SETTINGS: ACPI 2.0 support=enabled, ACPI APIC Support=Enabled Anyways, the point is , it worked fine on first boot...I had network, I didn't have sound and I didn't have my Nvidia OpenGL enabled. But I had network and internet, the DFE-528 was recognized. Now, I did the following: I added my EFI string for my Nvidia 7200GS to com.apple.Boot.plist, rebooted and I had full graphics support (transparencies, etc). But I lost my network. So I created hex string for my network card via osx86tool, joined the strings and rebooted. I had vga acceleration,I didn't have network. I figured, I must have done something wrong or there might be a conflict with the VGA string. So, I restored com.apple.Boot.plist to it's original settings, like it was on first boot (no efi strings) and rebooted. Still no network. I'm gonna try a REALTEK 8139 net card, but does anyone think of any solution? I even removed the EFI string and used natit nvidia driver, which gave me vga acceleration, but still no net. Is it that DFE-528 is not supported in SL? Forgive me if it's mentioned anywhere and I didn't find it. Thank you all in advance edit: I made changes to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist, not in /Extra... edit2: Realtek 8139 worked....
  2. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

Hey Taruga... I have the same sound card (662) and it works ok with 1.20 patcher and the alc662.txt dump but I'm curious if you have any ideas with the volume control problem... I just donated 10 btw...Keep up the great work and..Thank you for your time P.S.: I run multiple web servers so I can provide you with a good hosting package for free if you think it would be any help in your cause. Regards, Limneos I can't attach, some forum temporary problem. I'm posting the links to the uploaded screenshots: http://www.limneos.net/Picture 3.png http://www.limneos.net/Picture 4.png THANK YOU
  3. NTFS-3G and Parallels Desktops problem

Well it was really simple....I just had to give a name to the volume label under Vista, and everything works fine now.I thought it might be useful for someone to know. Regards, Limneos

  5. Working codec dump for alc662?

Here's mine.Worked fine for me on Asus p5ld2-x/1333 using the same sound card. Use this with Taruga Patcher v1.20 alc662.txt
  6. Hi to all. I'm using parallels desktops (amazing tool) to load Vista from my Leopard. I have also installed before that the NTFS-3G and MACFuse packages and I had no problems before. After I installed parallels desktops, whenever i start my windows vista from this tool , it works fine but it unmounts my "Untitiled" volume where NTFS-3G had mounted my Vista hard disk (sounds normal I should say, since it remounts it for the session as © My Windows disk or something) The problem is that when the parallels tools are closed by properly shutting down Vista, the disk is gone. After reboot , it's remounted ok but it gets a different volume name e.g. Untitiled 2 or Untitiled 3 and so on...I'm so far at Untitiled 4 so I'm asking some help for the matter. Thank you all in advance.
  7. Alcinject still needed for Leo and Efi?

Hola , Macgirl.. What do you mean you create a string for graphics and sound card? Like in info.plist "<string>" ? Can you post an example here? And if so, what are the benefits of this? Just ommiting the injection? Thank you in advance ---EDITED--- Sorry, I found your post about it : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=81294 Thanks again.
  8. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

The SOUND CARD coming with this model of Asus is ALC662 . I have the same myself, it works with Azalia driver but only 2 channel output, no inputs, but it works perfectly with Taruga's 1.20 patcher and the codec dump I have uploaded for you. Give it a try, only problem with patcher: No volume control sliders. alc662.txt

I found the datasheet from Realtek which says something like this , so I guess another method is used for volume sliders support. Here's the datasheet , in case you need to check this out. http://www.realtek.cz/download/datasheets/alc662_v1.0.pdf Hi to everyone. Amazing work to all, thumbs up to Taruga. This is my first post on the forum. It's been with no doubt the most useful place to make this work. alc662.txt
