  1. I have a Vostro 1310. Using this package alongside the xXx 10.5.6 Universal install works fine: I got sound and 1395 card working properly. However, there are some nasty shutdown/sleep issues: the laptop doesn't always shut down properly (I noticed the lights were still on) and sleep often doesn't work at all. Is this a common issue? I've read responses of people saying they got the Vostro 1310 working properly. What is the best way to do this?
  2. I always install as little as possible everytime, so I work my way up to a fully functioning computer. For the battery meter, I only checked 'Battery Meter' under 'Power Management'. It worked for me. Has anyone found a definitive guide on how to get the audio working? I believe it's the ALC268 (Realtek). I got it to work on my external speakers, but no headphones and no volume control. On top of that a nasty shutdown problem. Tanks!
  3. I had USB problems aswell, it turned out it had to do with incoherent kernel values: a system kext file had kernel 9.2.2, whereas my system kernel number was 9.2. This topic fixed my problems: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=95789
  4. I have tried installing with iAtkos 4i on the exact same sytem, without success. How did you manage to do this? (e.g. which distro, which options/drivers selected...). It would really help me out!
  5. Hello all, I was wondering what would be the best way to install Tiger on my hackintosh. I currently have 10.5 running, thanks to the topic: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...;hl=GA+P35-DS3P. I am, however, very anxious about working with Tiger; Leopard's features such as Time Machine don't really appeal to me, and I just wanted to give Tiger a shot. My mobo is the Asus P5GC-MX/1333. What guide is best for a clean install - i.e. no hacked info screens?
  6. Full Install Guide GA P35-DS3P

I used the Brazilmac 10.5.0 disc to install this one. When I updated to 10.5.1, the screen resolution was a little screwed, but this topic fixed it (I had to replace some kext files in the System folder). Anyone have any expierences with gma950 and 10.5.2?
  7. My computer was running beautifully after following this guide step-by-step: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=72493 Afterwards, I updated to 10.5.1, and I couldn't change my screen resolution - it just says 1024x768, whereas my desired resolution is 1280x1024. The following topic fixed this problem: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=72168 Now I tried to resolve the mouse tearing issue with the following guide: http://hacker-vip.blogspot.com/2008/01/how...xing-mouse.html However, I can't (again) change my screen resolution. I tried repeating the steps from the second topic I mentioned, but it won't help. Is there any way I can restore everything to it's default value? Or maybe reverse the terminal commands in the last mentioned guide? P.S.: I have the Intel GMA950 graphics card on the 945GCMX chipset.
  8. Leopard Perfect Install

YES! It is perfectly safe to use Software Update. Indeed, the update worked fine! After the installation however, I couldn't choose the proper screen resolution from the Displays menu in System Preferences. This topic fixed my problem. Thanks PS: Can I now safely install the 2007-009 Security Update as well?
  9. Leopard Perfect Install

I followed the guide and everything works perfectly. However, I have two questions. First of all: is it safe for me to update to 10.5.1 using Software Update? I haven't tried it yet because I'm affraid it'll screw up things. Secondly: I have a mouse tearing issue in applications like Firefox. Is there a decent fix around for this?
