  1. It's been a few years since I've visited or posted here. I've found a lot of great help yet again. I'm running Yosemite 10.10.5 on a QEMU/KVM with host PCIe passthrough for a GTX 970. My host machine is running Arch Linux with vfio extensions. It took most of the weekend, but I finally got the Nvidia driver working with the card, and full video acceleration is working for video playback and 3D. I installed Torchlight II from a standalone installer and it works just fine. For some reason, steam will just not run. It fails with Bus error: 10 . When I boot up in safe mode and try to run it, I can see in dmesg there are a few CODE SIGNING errors related to the steam_osx executable. I've tried replacing the signature with the codesign utility, but then the process seg faults with code 11. If this were on linux, I could see where it is failing with strace and gdb, but since I can't get debug symbols for any of the OS stuff here, I'm wondering what someone more familiar with Mac OS would use? More to the solution: Is there a way, like repair permissions, to verify or repair the signing of the OS libs on Mac OS? Assuming the installation media was corrupted, is there a way to recover?
  2. Thank you for posting a follow-up on this, this problem has been bugging me since I upgraded my Sandy Bridge system from 10.7.2 to 10.7.5. VoodooTSCSync did the trick!
  3. DSDT and sleep for Asus G50V gaming laptop

Never found a hack for this Asus notebook to sleep.
  4. DSDT and sleep for Asus G50V gaming laptop

I went into the bios and disabled everything but USB and SATA. I even took out the wireless card. Still unable to wake. I think it is best to consider this one a loss. Thank you so much for your help and time!
  5. DSDT and sleep for Asus G50V gaming laptop

Yeah, I've checked as much as I knew how to check before coming here. I've made several hackintoshes before and eventually I got sleep working on all of them. This gaming laptop is particularly difficult it seems.
  6. DSDT and sleep for Asus G50V gaming laptop

Still the same effect. Any other information I could provide?
  7. DSDT and sleep for Asus G50V gaming laptop

QE/CI work properly. I can run Chess and Starcraft 2. Here are the screenshots.
  8. DSDT and sleep for Asus G50V gaming laptop

Thanks for your time and help. I hope this is what you asked for. DarwinDumper_2.4.9_Chameleon_2.1_Lion_james.zip
  9. DSDT and sleep for Asus G50V gaming laptop

Damn, unfortunately the machine still will not respond after waking up. I'd love to learn how to troubleshoot DSDT. Would you mind explaining to me what you did, or any possible strategies?
  10. Hello, fellow Hackintosh-ians I'm hoping to get some expert advice for getting sleep to work on my Asus G50V. It has an ICH9 chipset and Core 2 duo P7450 at 2.13 GHz. It goes to sleep (S3) with the light flashing, but it does not wake up entirely, showing nothing on the screen with unresponsive input. I have tried all the ICH9 DSDT patches, sleepenabler to no avail. As far as I can tell, it is generating 8 different P states and HWMonitor is showing that the CPU is properly moving between all of them as needed. The laptop also has an NV GF 9800GS M. This graphics card tends to run fairly hot/warm in Mac OS X, less so than it does in Ubuntu Linux with Unity w/OpenGL effects. Maybe this is normal, however, I would suspect this being the culprit for preventing sleep. 11. DSDT advice for MSI PH67S-G43?

I got it working by using SpeedStepper. Thanks to flAked. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=258611
  12. Thanks a MILLION, flAked. Works on my MSI PH67S-C43 with i5-2500K. Verified with MSRDumper. I would be interested in learning how you did this.
  13. DSDT advice for MSI PH67S-G43?

Happy New Year, everyone, I'd like to learn to troubleshoot DSDT so I can get sleep and CPU power management working on my Sandy Bridge Core i5 on MSI PH67S-C43. (H67 chipset) So far, I've extracted the DSDT, corrected errors, applied various patches, and have saved the DSDT.aml to /Extra. I'm an experienced C/C++ programmer and am comfortable with the command line and the DSDT tools. If anyone has any advice on how to get started with DSDT, it would be greatly appreciated. Attached is my current DSDT.dsl.
  14. Glad to hear it worked, bignumbas. I'm about to install kubuntu 64 also. MiMe, My MSI UEFI Sandy Bridge motherboard will display a ad-hoc boot menu when I press F11. I have the options to boot things in EFI mode or as MBR/DOS mode. Are you able to get such a menu on your thinkpad? It might help to try both methods: I have noticed very different boot behavior.
  15. I think that Chameleon uses MBR information (it does appear to on my laptop with BIOS) to correctly detect partitions. My system is booting correctly now, I did not have to preload any kexts, however. I will be dual booting ubuntu and lion on a UEFI system in about a week. I will keep you posted with my results.
