  1. Windows 7 Looks fine: PCI\VEN_1D6A&DEV_D107&SUBSYS_87411043&REV_02 Maybe it the second revision that creates the problem? EDIT: now macOS displays Vendor 0x1d6a Device 0xd107 SubsystemVendor 0x1043 and Subsytem id 0x8741 But my cable is still "unplugged". Will look into this later...
  2. Do you think I could fake my device id to 0xd107 to get the update?
  3. Yes, I disabled onboard LAN and checked before updating: it's en0
  4. I used the normal update, I guess. d5aqoep told me to update via the App Store, but I don't have an internet connection when I only enable the Asus NIC. Maybe I could download it, reboot and then start the update?
  5. I installed 10.13.2 and updated with the combo updater, but still the same result: device id is 0x0001 As long as I have the Asus card in my hackintosh, some boots crash somewhere around the Aquantia kexts. Next boot seems to be fine. Where can I find the boot log? I can't find the lines from above in my system.log
  6. Hey Mieze! I tried in on my Gigabyte Z170X-Designare with disabled onboard LAN on a clean 10.13.3 with newest clover 4392. The ASUS card was found as en0, but still has the vendor id 0x1d6a and device id 0x0001. Do you have any idea on how to force the upgrade? Kind regards! Edit: I found these lines while booting: AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion::reset_enet_fw:786:error AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtionFirmware::doFirwareUpload 0.0.0 AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion::notifyFwUploadCompleted:632 completed fw upload Macros: status, file /BuildRoot/Library/Cahces/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion/AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion-16.40.3/AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion/if_axge.cpp line 5??5, value 0 Copied them from a bad photo. Where do I find these lines on my Mac?
  7. Are you sure it already flashed something? And if so, what do I need to change? Thank you Mieze, I'll try it soon.
  8. Of course. Here you go. But like I said, it does not work yet.
  9. I've got it running with shortened pin 4 and 5. Vendor id is 0x1d6a but device id is 0x0001. The card shows up but pretends that no cable is connected which is not true of course Because of the 2 nics of the cMP the interface of my Asus xg-c100c interface is en2. Like Mieze said, maybe that's the reason it does not upgrade the card. Will try hackintosh next, just need to finish some projects first.
  10. I tried the ASUS XG-C100C in my cMP 5.1 at slot 2 and 3 with 10.13.3 but the machine did not boot. No starting chime, nothing Any idea why? I'll try it in my hackintosh, but I have to update to HS first.
  11. Has anyone get the card work? Is there anything I can do to help? I'd really like to add them to my Mac Pros
  12. Is there any chance to change to EEPROM of the card to permanently change the device id? A few people did that with the Intel X540-T1 to use the SmallTree kext. What do you think?
  13. Hey! Thanks for you input! The Console does not give me any information. Last entries vary and are always related to minor stuff. I'm not sure whether it could be a kernel panic since I can see the last frame forever on the screen. But I tend to see a problem in my USB config because it's the last major change I made. I removed FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext, FakePCIID.kext and USBInjectAll.kext and disabled my DSDT patches in clover config. But now most of my usb ports aren't working and I don't get USB3 speed an the remaining two. I know there are some problems with series 8 mainboards but since I'm not running windows or yosemite on that system, I can't find the correct EHC and XHC mapping But I'll try without usb 3 for a couple of days and monitor any freezes. If they don't happen (which is harder since it freezes mostly while backuping) it might be the solution. Would you recommend buying a series 9 mobo? And if so, which one is the most apple-compatible one? Cheers, Dogman
  14. Hey guys! If got El Capitan (10.11.5) running on my Gigabyte Z87X-D3H for a while and it works pretty fine. I attached my Clover config.plist. These are the kexts im running: AppleIntelE1000e.kext, AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext, realtekALC.kext and RealtekRTL8111.kext to get my hardware running. Additionally I need FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext, FakePCIID.kext, FakeSMC.kext and USBInjectAll.kext to get my USB3 running. But the system freezes randomly, most of the time when I copy large amounts of data. I checked the console but could not find anything. I went back to Yosemite but it happens as well. Whats the best way to track the reason of the reason of the freezes? Some hardware info: Gigabyte Z87X-D3H Intel Core i7 4770S 2x TP-Link TG-3468 RTL8111C Areca ARC-1882i MSI R9 280X 6GB 250GB Samsung 840 Evo I really appreciate your help on this Cheers Dogman config.txt
