  1. Samsung NC10 UK revision

Oh, thought it was supposed to run 10.5.5. I'm downloading the 10.5.6 PPF from RS, just wondering why you don't make a torrent for that? Or do you get something from RS for hosting it there? (Which would make sense)
  2. Samsung NC10 UK revision

I applied the ISO and did an MD5 check and it came out fine. When I installed it it still ran 10.5.4. I think I'll just use msiosx for a bit while the 10.5.6 download works.

I can't Don't have an RS account and the last time I applied a PPF to an ISO it didn't do anything, so I know I'm not applying it correctly. Trying to download the 10.5.6 torrent but right now I'm downloading at a whole .2 KBs

Where is the installation log kept? I was trying to upgrade a stock install of Jas 10.5.4 to the NC10 10.5.6 using DDMac, but when I boot off of the ddmac partition and get to the install step, it says no installation media could be found. I've followed the instructions on the first page but had some issues understanding it.
  5. Working Wireless (USB and Ralink)

No, you shouldn't have to. I am using WPA and it works fine, using the 9.13 drivers. One big thing to make sure of is your MAC address being in the filtering list for MAC addresses, it's a silly mistake but one I made earlier today when I first installed my wireless card.
  6. Working Wireless (USB and Ralink)

I am using the 9.13 drivers with the belkin USB wireless devcie. I am currently using WPA secuirity and it works fine.
  7. The Official Dual Booting Thread

I installed OS X first, using the disk utility to make one big free space partition and one OS X partition. Once installation was finished I installed XP, then I installed Fedora Core 4. I used grub during the Fedora Core installation to create the bootloader. OS X actually picks up the installation of XP and set XP as the default choice in its bootloader, something I need to fix. The only real issue I have is in Windows I didn't do the formatting correct (run the install, create the partiton, exit install, restart computer and start install again) so my default drive in Windows is E:.
  8. Dell Inspiron 700m hard drive heat problem

Thanks, I was actually about to upgrade although I'm not sure what to do with my ppf file I have. I don't have wireless working but basically everything else I care about does work. Thanks again for the input though
  9. I am running 10.4.1 and everything seems to be working reasonably well (no wireless or sound, but sound should be fixed in a few minutes once I get Darwin 8.1) the only problem is the fan is running all the time to cool it down. It does not do this in Windows. I have run Fedora Core 4 previously and I had the same issue, adding "-m16" to the extra parameters feature in /etc/sysconfig/harddisks fixed that problem. Is there a similar feature in OS X I can add or do I just need to deal with it? Thanks.
